      • 연생연금보험의 장수리스크에 관한 연구

        오창수 ( Changsu Ouh ),이현정 ( Hyunjung Lee ) 한국계리학회 2017 계리학연구 Vol.9 No.2

Longevity risk is the risk the insurance company has to implement cash flow for the future as the mortality has improved under the Solvency Ⅱ. In this paper, the longevity risk is calculated in joint and last survivor annuity product applying the mortality from Lee-Carter model(LCM) comparing from the one from the 8th experience mortality table(EMT). We show estimation parameters of LC model using Korean mortality data from year 2001 to 2015. Longevity risk of joint and last survivor annuity was 8.358% of Best Estimate Liability(BEL) by the 8th experience morality table(EMT) while longevity risk of single life annuity was 7.842% of BEL by the 8th experience morality table(EMT). This is because in joint and last survivor annuity the mortality of both the insured and the second insured affects the payment of annuity. The mortality improvement influences both the insured and the second insured in joint and last survivor life annuity but in the single annuity the morality of the insured is the only factor affected. We also see the change of longevity risk as the discount rate, age, the gap of ages between the insured and the second insured and the different annuity payment guaranteed period so on.

A study of Disaster Survivors in Korea

        MinSoo Lee,RheeHun Kang,ByungJoo Ham,YunKyeung Choi,ChangSu Han,HeonJeong Lee,SeungHwan Lee,SungMee Kim,HongSeock Lee 대한신경정신의학회 2004 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.1 No.1

Objectives-The purpose of this study was to assess the clinical manifestation of psychiatric symptoms and Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) profiles, and to examine the factors affecting the Degree of symptom severity, among survivors of a man-made disaster in Korea. Methods-Survivors of the Sampoong Department Store collapse were evaluated in October 1995, 5 months after the disaster occurred. Among the original 681 subjects, 624 were evaluated using the Psychiatric Evaluation Form, and the MMPI. Results-The primary complaint was sleep disturbance (54.2%), which was followed by headaches (31.8%) and intense distress over reminders of the event (24.2%). Most subjects (90.4%) showed a variety of psychiatric symptoms with certain factors further affecting the degree of severity. Another result showed that the severity of the subjects symptoms increased as their age increased and their educational level decreased. Divorced and widowed survivors had more severe symptoms, as did those who had experienced a loss of consciousness or who had waited a long time to be rescued. In the MMPI, the mean Welsh code profile configuration was 13726-0894/5: F-KL: and the most common two- and three- point code types were 1-3/3-1 (15.4%) and 1-3-7/1-7-3 (8.4%), respectively. Conclusions-The results indicate that it is possible to identify the specific psychiatric symptoms that resulted from this disaster, and that a substantial segment of the adult population exposed to similar events may experience symptoms of post traumatic stress. The psychiatric symptoms and the factors affecting the severity of the symptoms identified in this study may prove useful in the future screening of disaster victims for appropriate evaluation and treatment.

Despite of its advantange on shortening framework period of a super-tall building, gangform is prone to high safety risk due to its heavy weight during operation. Thus, this study is conducted to investigate the applicability of a lightweight gangform made of engineering composite materials. Compared to the conventional gangform, the proposed gangform showed greater performance not only in reduction of safety accidents on-site, but also in constructability and environmental aspects. The results of this study are expected to be served as the basis for developing the lightweight gangform in future.

      • Effects of an auxin-producing symbiotic bacterium on cell growth of the microalga <i>Haematococcus pluvialis</i>: Elevation of cell density and prolongation of exponential stage

        Lee, Changsu,Jeon, Min Seo,Kim, Joon Yong,Lee, Se Hee,Kim, Dae Geun,Roh, Seong Woon,Choi, Yoon-E Elsevier Science B.V. Amsterdam 2019 Algal research Vol.41 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Recently, there has been a growing interest in bacterial diversity in the phycosphere of microalgae because plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB) increase algal biomass. However, the phycosphere bacterial community associated with the unicellular microalgae, <I>Haematococcus</I> strains, has not been studied to date, despite the broad industrial applications of these microalgae. Accordingly, in this study, we analyzed the characteristics of phycosphere bacterial communities associated with microalgae. The phycosphere bacterial community structure was dramatically shifted with each growth stage of <I>Haematococcus lacustris</I>. A symbiotic bacterium, <I>Achromobacter</I> sp. CBA4603, was identified and isolated from the <I>Haematococcus</I> culture and was found to produce high levels of auxin compared with other PGPB strains. During co-cultivation of <I>Haematococcus pluvialis</I>, which has high commercial value, with the isolated strain CBA4603, the growth of the microalga was enhanced at all growth stages, and the exponential stage was prolonged. However, the accumulation of astaxanthin was not high, which could be explained by the previously reported characteristics of exogenous auxin. Taken together, our results suggested that this <I>Achromobacter</I> strain may be useful for industrial and biotechnological applications to enhance biomass and for generation of high value-added products of <I>H</I>. <I>pluvialis</I>.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Our study first identified phycosphere bacterial community of a <I>Haematococcus</I> member. </LI> <LI> We isolated the plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB), <I>Achromobacter</I> sp. MEASURABLE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BRIGHT GALAXIES AND THEIR FAINT COMPANIONS IN WHL J085910.0+294957, A GALAXY CLUSTER AT<i>z</i>= 0.30: VESTIGES OF INFALLEN GROUPS?

        Lee, Joon Hyeop,Lee, Hye-Ran,Kim, Minjin,Seon, Kwang-Il,Kim, Sang Chul,Yang, Soung-Chul,Ree, Chang Hee,Lee, Jong Chul,Jeong, Hyunjin,Ko, Jongwan,Choi, Changsu IOP Publishing 2014 The Astrophysical journal Vol.791 No.2

<P>The properties of satellite galaxies are closely related to their host galaxies in galaxy groups. In cluster environments, on the other hand, the interaction between close neighbors is known to be limited. Our goal is to examine the relationships between host and satellite galaxies in the harsh environment of a galaxy cluster. To achieve this goal, we study a galaxy cluster WHL J085910.0+294957 at z = 0.30 using deep images obtained with CQUEAN CCD camera mounted on the 2.1 m Otto Struve Telescope. After member selection based on the scaling relations of photometric and structural parameters, we investigate the relationship between bright (M-i <= -18) galaxies and their faint (-18 < M-i <= -15) companions. The weighted mean color of faint companion galaxies shows no significant dependence (< 1 sigma to bootstrap uncertainties) on cluster-centric distance and local luminosity density as well as the luminosity and concentration of an adjacent bright galaxy. However, the weighted mean color shows marginal dependence (similar to 2.2 sigma) on the color of an adjacent bright galaxy when the sample is limited to bright galaxies with at least two faint companions. By using a permutation test, we confirm that the correlation in color between bright galaxies and their faint companions in this cluster is statistically significant with a confidence level of 98.7%. The statistical significance increases if we additionally remove non-members using the Sloan Digital Sky Survey photometric redshift information (similar to 2.6 sigma and 99.3%). Our results suggest three possible scenarios: (1) vestiges of infallen groups, (2) dwarf capturing, and (3) tidal tearing of bright galaxies.</P>

Chronic social defeat stress-induced enhancement of T-type calcium channels increases burst-firing neurons in the ventral subiculum

        Lee, Soonje,Lee, Changwoo,Woo, Changsu,Kang, Shin Jung,Shin, Ki Soon Elsevier 2019 Biochemical and biophysical research communication Vol.508 No.4

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The ventral subiculum (vSub), a representative output structure of the hippocampus, serves as a main limbic region in mediating the brain's response to stress. There are three subtypes of subicular pyramidal neurons based on their firing patterns: regular-spiking (RS), weak-bursting (WB) and strong-bursting (SB) neurons, located differently along proximal–distal axis. Here, we found that chronic social defeat stress (CSDS) in mice increased the population of SB neurons but decreased RS neurons in the proximal vSub. Specific blockers of T-type calcium channels inhibited the burst firings with a concomitant reduction of afterdepolarization, suggesting that T-type calcium channels underlie the burst-spiking activity. Consistently, CSDS increased both T-type calcium currents and expression of Cav3.1 proteins, a subtype of T-type calcium channels, in the proximal vSub. Therefore, we conclude that CSDS-induced enhancement of Cav3.1 expression increased bursting neuronal population in the vSub, which may contribute to stress-related behaviors.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Chronic social defeat stress increased the population of burst-spiking neurons in the proximal ventral subiculum. </LI> <LI> Burst firing and afterdepolarization were inhibited by selective T-type calcium channel blockers. </LI> <LI> Chronic social defeat stress increased T-type calcium currents and the expression of Cav3.1 channels. </LI> <LI> Chronic social defeat stress-induced increase of burst-spiking neurons is mediated by Cav3.1 channels. </LI> </UL> </P>

Spoken Language Understanding with a Novel Simultaneous Recognition Technique for Intelligent Personal Assistant Software

Lee, Changsu,Ko, Youngjoong World Scientific Publishing Company 2018 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE T Vol.27 No.3

<P>Intelligent personal assistant software, such as Apple’s Siri and Samsung’s S-Voice, is being widely used these days. One of the core modules of this kind of software is the spoken language understanding (SLU) module used to predict the user’s intention for determining the system actions. The SLU module usually consists of several connected recognition components on a pipeline framework, whereas the proposed SLU module is developed by a novel technique that can simultaneously recognize four recognition components, namely named entity, speech-act, target, and operation using conditional random fields. In the experiments, the proposed simultaneous recognition technique achieved a relative improvement as high as approximately 2.2% and a faster speed of approximately 15% compared to a pipeline framework. A significance test showed that this improvement was statistically significant because the p-value was smaller than 0.01.</P>
