Identification of three wood decay fungi in Yeoninsan Provincial Park, Korea

Though several wood decay fungi have been reported in the world-wide, only about 600 wood decay fungi have been reported in Korea to date. Thus, the objective of this study was to secure resources for the wood decay fungi in Korea. We investigated wood decay fungi in Yeoninsan Provincial Park, Korea, and the collected specimens were identified based on ITS sequence analysis. Two species were unrecorded species in Korea: Postia hirsuta (Polyporales, Basidiomycota) and Hyphodontia reticulata (Hymenochaetales, Basidiomycota). Another species was previously reported without detailed description: Ceriporia alachuana (Polyporales, Basidiomycota). Here, we provided additional detailed microscopic features and phylogenetic analysis of these species.

This paper presents an PSO-based optimization methodology for estimating the capacities and initial SOC of an energy storage systems (ESSs) in a DC electric railway system. The proposed method calculates the optimal solution using the missing capacity caused by the limited storage capacity. The missing capacity can be estimated through continuous-powerfl ow analysis. In many previous studies, capacities was calculated by assuming the each ESS as an independent device. However, since each storage device aff ects the charging and discharging operation of each other, this assumption might aff ect the convergence characteristics. In this paper, to solve this problem, the missing capacity of the ESS at both sides is refl ected by using the relating coeffi cient derived based on the electrical distance between storage devices. The case studies show that the most effi cient operation without missing capacity is possible under the derived capacities and initial SOC

This paper proposes analysis on new equipment for power quality in electric railway. The proposed equipment consists of series inverter and parallel inverter. Each inverter is connected by capacitor as de link. This structure can be compensated for active and reactive power in catenary through transformer.
First Report of Six Macrofungi from Daecheongdo and Socheongdo Islands, Korea

Daecheongdo and Socheongdo Islands are located in the West Sea of Korea, 210km away from land, and are military border areas very close to North Korea, making them difficult to access. Although the ecosystem of the islands is relatively well preserved due to the lack of accessibility, research on fungi of the regions is insufficient. Therefore, we aimed to investigate indigenous fungi in these geographically and geopolitically constrained regions. A survey of the indigenous fungal diversity of the islands was conducted in 2018. All specimens were identified at the species level based on morphological and molecular analyses. Among them, six macrofungi―namely, Agaricus menieri, Crepidotus praecipuus, Dichomitus squalens, Hortiboletus amygdalinus, Melanoleuca friesii, and Trametes lactinea―were not previously reported in Korea. Considering that the proportion of unrecorded species is high in the survey area and period as well as the number of samples collected, similar research on adjacent islands may be necessary.
The Fungicolous Ascomycetes Genus Hypomyces in Korea

The genus Hypomyces contains fungi that grow on mushrooms, including agarics, boletes, and Aphyllophorales. While 53 Hypomyces species have been reported worldwide, only one was in Korea. In this study, two new Korean species were identified as H. luteovirens and H. tubariicola based on morphology and internal transcribed spacer sequencing.
Antioxidant Activity of Indigenous Trametes Species in Korea

The fungal genus Trametes is globally distributed and comprises various wood-decay species, including the well-known medicinal mushroom Trametes versicolor , a popular remedy in traditional Asian medicine. Trametes species produce antioxidants, which have a wide range of health benefits. The pressent study evaluated seven indigenous Trametes species from Korea, which were cultivated in three different media (dextrose-yeast extract, DY; malt extract-yeast extract, MY; malt extract broth, MEB) and tested for antioxidant activity using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl and 2,2’-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) assays. We found that the medium consumption rate did not significantly differ between the media and among the strains (72-76%). However, the T. versicolor strains had a relatively low consumption rate (14-65%). The 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2′-azinobis(3- ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate) (ABTS) tests demonstrated that culture filtrates of T. cf. junipericola, T. orientalis, T. suaveolens, and T. versicolor possessed antioxidant activity against damage from free radicals. In particular, T. cf. junipericola (DY) and T. versicolor (MY) had >80% activity in the DPPH and ABTS assays, compared with that of the positive control (ascorbic acid). Thus, our study identified promising candidates with substantial antioxidant activity among the indigenous strains of Trametes spp. from Korea.

The more feeding distance of substation is long and travel vehicle increases in feeding section, power supply reaches the limits. And if it exceeds the limit, it causes a serious trouble for train operation. Therefore, it is designed that the number of train increases constantly until 2030. So consistent power supply according to the increasement of vehicle in power system at present Seoul-Pusan high speed railway, regular operation in case of extended feeding occurring accidents in substation, and the least headway scheduled at relevant section and the effects installing compensation facility in case of impossible extended feeding is examined.
Two Unrecorded Macrofungal Species from Sohwangbyeongsan in Korea

Indigenous fungi from Mount Sohwangbyeongsan, Odaesan National Park, Pyeongchanggun, Gangwon-do, South Korea, were investigated between 2013 and 2016. Our survey identified a total of 137 macrofungi species. These species were systematically categorized into 2 phyla, 4 classes, 15 orders, 41 families, and 73 genera. We identified collected specimens to the species level based on their morphology and rDNA sequences. Two species-Lentinellus flabelliformis and Tricholoma stans were newly recorded as macromycota in Korea.
