A FIFTH-ORDER IMPROVEMENT OF THE EULER-CHEBYSHEV METHOD FOR SOLVING NON-LINEAR EQUATIONS

In this paper we present a new variant of the Euler-Chebyshev method for solving nonlinear equations. Analysis of convergence is given to show that the presented methods are at least ¯fth-order convergent. Several numerical examples are given to illustrate that newly presented methods can be competitive to other known ¯fth-order methods and the Newton method in the e±ciency and performance.

This paper is focused on simulation and verification of the EMB(Electro Mechanical Brake) system newly developed by the Mando Corporation. In this paper, the virtual model was made in the dynamic analysis software, ADAMS and its verification was achieved by the correlation between the result of an experiment and the simulation result. The correlation in the static state was achieved by the comparison between the result of the experiment using the Load Cell and the simulation result. In the dynamic state the correlation was achieved by the comparison between the braking torque of the dynamometer test and the simulation result. As the result of this process, the virtual model used in this simulation is verified that it is reasonable to be applied to other EMB systems.

<P>A button-type beam position monitor (BPM) has been designed and fabricated for the upgraded Pohang Light Source. The BPM consists of four buttons located symmetrically at top and bottom of the vacuum chamber. In the process of simulation, the Wakefield Simulator of CST Particle Studio is mainly used as the tool to calculate the wakefields and the electromagnetic fields. The BPM is tested by using a test stand to check its performance before installation. The calibration of BPM is also performed to check its position offsets and its sensitivities.</P>
