        Comparison of Physique and Physical Fitness of TAEKWONDO Gyeorugi and WUSHU Santa Athletes

        Purpose: This study compared and analyzed the characteristics of physique and physical fitness factors be-tween the two sports in order to provide useful information for the establishment of effective training plans for Taekwondo Gyeorugi athletes and Wushu Santa athletes. Methods: The subjects of this study consisted of 14 Taekwondo Gyeorugi athletes in D Metropolitan City K University and 14 Wushu Santa athletes from D Team. Physical characteristics(height, weight, body fat percent-age, BMI, lower extremities, thighs) and physical fitness factors(back muscular strength, sit-ups, repetitive jumps, standing long jump, Sargent jump, reaction time to sound/light, side step test, one-foot stand with closed eye, sit and reach, backward flexibility, anaerobic exercise capacity, isokinetic muscle strength of the knee joint) were measured to compare and analyze the differences between the two sports. Results: As a result of the study, the physical characteristics of Taekwondo Gyeorugi athletes were statistically significantly higher than those of Wushu Santa athletes in left and right thigh circumferences. In terms of physical fitness, the Wushu Santa athletes were statistically significantly higher than those of Taekwondo Gyeorugi ath-letes in standing long jump and Sargent jump, which are evaluation items of power. In addition, Taekwondo Gyeorugi athletes were statistically significantly higher than Wushu Santa athletes in the evaluation item of bal-ance. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in the measurement result of anaerobic exercise capacity. Wushu Santa athletes were statistically significantly higher values of muscular strength and muscular strength per 1 kg of body weight in left and right extensors, and muscular strength and muscular strength per 1 kg of body weight in left flexors than the Taekwondo Gyeorugi athletes in the measurement result of isokinetic muscle strength of the knee joint. Conclusion: In summarizing the results of this study, Wushu Santa athletes tended to have a higher tendency for most of the physical fitness factors except balance and flexibility compared to Taekwondo competition ath-letes, and in particular, muscular strength of extensors of lower extremity and power were higher. However, when comparative analysis based on the results of previous studies, it is considered that there will be some diffi-culties in generalizing the results of this study to the physical fitness of Taekwondo competition and Wushu Santa event athletes. In addition, it is thought that a follow-up study is needed to consider the competition rules for each sport and the technical characteristics of the players.

      • Vascular Remodeling with a Microvascular Anastomotic Coupler System: A Case Report

        Despite increased utilization of microvascular anastomotic coupler (MAC) devices, the consequences have yet to be fully explored in terms of vascular regeneration. Removal of an exposed venous coupler is described herein, documenting normal circulatory flow through the remodeled site of application. A 25-year-old man who underwent open reduction and rigid fixation elsewhere for traumatic calcaneal fracture ultimately presented with a necrotic postoperative wound. The debrided defect was treated by free thigh perforator flap, incorporating a MAC device. Three months later, the flap remained viable, but the MAC itself was exposed. Structural integrity of the vessel and blood flow were sustained as the device was carefully removed, confirming true vascular remodeling in this example of MAC usage.

        최근 동해안에 피해사례가 급증하고 있는 해빈침식 방지를 위해 일반적으로 침식의 주요 원인이 되는 입사파 에너지를 감소시키고 표사의 이동을 억제하기 위하여 T.T.P를 수중에 광폭으로 난적한 형식의 인공리프(잠제)를 널리 이용하고 있으나 이러한 광폭의 인공리프는 상부에서 쇄파된 파에너지는 향안류와 수위상승을 일으켜 잠제 배후의 전빈경사를 증가시키거나 개구부를 통한 이안류를 크게 하여 모래의 외해유출을 발생하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 쇄파 이후의 향안류와 수위상승을 억제하기 위한 신형식의 인공리프를 개발하고 이에 대한 수리특성을 검토하였다.

        멀티미디어 데이타 중에서도 많은 부문의 응용에 사용되는 이미지 데이타의 내용 기반 검색에 대한 연구가 활발히 이뤄지고 있지만, 기존의 내용 기반 이미지 검색 대부분이 대상으로 삼고 있는 이미지 포맷과는 달리 현재 이용되는 대부분의 이미지는 압축된 상태이다. 이미지 압축의 표준으로 사용되는 JPEG 압축 이미지에 대해서 압축 상태에서 특성을 추출하고 이를 검색에 이용하면 기존의 방법에 비해 압축을 해제하는 비용을 줄일 수 있고 블록 정보를 이용하는 장점을 가지게 된다. 본 논문에서는 JPEG 압축 이미지에서 블록 단위의 정보를 가진 특성으로 추출해내고 이를 사용한 이미지 검색 기법을 제안한다.

        Application of FUNCTIONAL TRAINING to Improve the Performance of Elite Judo Athletes

        Purpose: This study analyzed the effect of an application of a short-term functional training for 120 minutes a day, twice a week, for five weeks, and for total 10 times, targeting a male elite Judo Athlete attached to Daegu. Method: A functional fraining program in this study consisted of 8 types of fynamic stabilization, 9 types of cardiopulmonary endurance and muscular endurance, and 12 types of functional training focusing on muscle power considering judo game situation. The intensity of exercise varied according to the training session (HRR 80% - 100%), and total consumed exercise calories per one time were applied to be consumed 800-1000cal with apple watch. Results: After organizing and applying the functional training program optimized to the participant on this study, body composition, basic physical strength, aerobic exercise capacity, anaerobic exercise capacity and isokinetic muscle function of the knee joint and waist were measured. As a result, most of the measured list brought a positive change after applying the functional training. Conclusion: After all the results above, optimized training program plan and application, considering the features of judo itself, of the build or physical strength of the athletes participating the game, are thought to be fully considered to improve the performance of the judo athletes, although intensive training, intensive training frequency and intensive quantity of training for elite judo athletes are significant.

      • 외환위기 전후의 한국기업의 부채구조와 결정요인

        The purpose of this research is to examine empirically what kinds of changes the government's debt-ratio reduction policy, strongly promoted since the foreign exchange crisis, has made to the Korean corporate debt structure and the real factors in the decisions. This research examined how the corporate debt ratio, an important issue for the Korean economy in the wake of the foreign exchange crisis, has changed on the whole, by business group and by debt type, and how enterprises reduced their debt ratio. Furthermore, it also analyzed how debt structure decision factors as suggested in financial theory have changed since the foreign exchange crisis. The following are the key findings obtained this research: First, the government's corporate debt reduction effort achieved the stated objectives superficially. However, with a considerable contribution by asset revaluation, investment between business group firms, etc., however, substantial improvement of corporate financial structure was not obtained. Second, the hypothesis -if corporate scale is large, the debt ratio would be higher- means debts would be concentrated in the large enterprises within business groups: A statistically positive relationship appeared within the top five and top 30 business groups prior to the foreign exchange crisis. Nevertheless, the same positive correlation could not be found after the crisis. -The interpretation is that the positive (+) effect of corporate scale on debt was offset because the debt reduction policy was focused on large enterprises, in particular, among the top business groups. Third, the hypothesis -the debt ratio would be lower for higher business risks- could be supported only for the top 30 business group companies and other enterprises before the foreign exchange crisis. No statistical correlation could be found in the top five business group companies, indicating that before the foreign exchange crisis, the debt of these firms had nothing to do with business risks. Meanwhile, since the foreign exchange crisis, no statistical relationship could be found regardless of business group. Fourth, the hypothesis -the debt ratio of a corporation with many non-debt tax shields would be low as it had to be careful in utilizing debt to achieve a tax saving effect- was rejected based on the results. The interpretation is that is interpreted that more tax shields played an affirmative role in corporate value and served as advantage with respect to debt. Fifth, the hypothesis -if profitability is high, the debt ratio would be lower- was supported in the short and long-term, in domestic and overseas debt ratios and regardless of the period. Sixth, a consistent result could not be found in the relationship between growth-related variables -such as sales growth, advertisement expense concentration ratio, R&D concentration ratio, etc.- and debt ratio. Sales growth and advertisement expense concentration ratio showed a discriminant positive (+) sign in <period 1994~1996> and <period 1999~2001>, respectively. Therefore, the hypothesis that growth opportunity would have a negative (-) correlation with debt ratio was rejected. On the contrary, R&D concentration ratio showed a negative (-) sign in both <period 1994~1996> and <period 1999~2001>, appearing to support the hypothesis. Seventh, the impact of tangible fixed assets on debt ratio showed a positive (+) correlation only for the period after the foreign exchange crisis. The interpretation is that such a phenomenon was caused by the domestic financing environment that had become more conservative after the foreign exchange crisis. In an analysis by business group, however, a statistically discriminant positive (+) relationship appeared only in other enterprises in the post-foreign exchange crisis period. This implies that the significance of tangible fixed assets as security value became higher for other enterprises than those belonging to business groups.

        Comparison of Physical Fitness Factors of High School and College TAEKWONDO Athletes with Anaerobic Exercise and Isokinetic Muscle Function

        Purpose: Considering the development curve, there may be individual differences, but in the 2nd and 3rd grades of high school, it can be seen that there is no significant difference from that of adults in form. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the differences in body composition and physical strength factors of Taekwondo Gyeorugi players who are attending morphological similar high school and university in form, and provide basic data for physical fitness training of athletes based on the results of this study. Method: The subjects of this study were 13 competition players attending G high school in D city and 13 com-petition players attending K University, and body composition, physical factors, anaerobic exercise ability, and knee joint isokinetic muscle function were tested. For data processing, the mean and standard deviation of the measured items were calculated using the SPSS 25.0 statistical program. An independent t-test was conducted to find out the difference between high school taekwondo players and college students taekwondo players. Results: University Taekwondo competition players were statistically significantly higher in height, lean body weight, and lower extremity than high school competition players, and their body fat percentage was lower. In terms of physical strength, college competition players were superior to high school athletes in terms of strength, endurance, quickness, agility, coordination, and flexibility. The anaerobic exercise ability was significantly higher in college athletes than high school athletes in Peak Power(W), Average Power(W), and Total Energy(J). It was also found that college athletes were superior to high school athletes in knee joint isokinetic muscle function measured at an angular velocity of 60 degrees. Conclusion: The statistically significant difference in the height and lower extremities, which are the physique factors, is judged as the result of not considering weight class in the selection of subjects for this study. The differ-ence in physical strength factors is thought to be a result of the higher athlete experience and training amount of college players than the difference in shape development.

        Inhibition of nitric oxide synthase expression in activated microglia and peroxynitrite scavenging activity by Opuntia ficus indica var. saboten

        <P>Activated microglia by neuronal injury or inflammatory stimulation overproduce nitric oxide (NO) by inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as superoxide anion, resulting in neurodegenerative diseases. The toxic peroxynitrite (ONOO<SUP>−</SUP>), the reaction product of NO and superoxide anion further contributes to oxidative neurotoxicity. A butanol fraction obtained from 50% ethanol extracts of Opuntia ficus indica var. saboten (Cactaceae) stem (SK OFB901) and its hydrolysis product (SK OFB901H) inhibited the production of NO in LPS-activated microglia in a dose dependent manner (IC<SUB>50</SUB> 15.9, 4.2 µg/mL, respectively). They also suppressed the expression of protein and mRNA of iNOS in LPS-activated microglial cells at higher than 30 µg/mL as observed by western blot analysis and RT-PCR experiment. They also inhibited the degradation of I-κB-α in activated microglia. Moreover, they showed strong activity of peroxynitrite scavenging in a cell free bioassay system. These results imply that Opuntia ficus indica may have neuroprotective activity through the inhibition of NO production by activated microglial cells and peroxynitrite scavenging activity.         The pipes in the outdoor unit of an air conditioner are designed to reduce the vibration effect of the compressor. Three-dimensional structure of the pipe could provide various design choices and the resultant vibration characteristics of the outdoor units. A design program has been developed for an eligible parametric study of pipe design and automatic vibration analysis using commercial software, I-DEAS, and its macro. Optimal design of pipe configuration has been performed using the commercial software, iSIGHT. The optimized design shows 70 percents improvement in the vibration characteristics of the outdoor unit of an air conditioner.
