      • 全北地域農業活性化方案과 食品加工産業育成戰略

        朴正根,申東禾,康昌植 全北大學校 1993 論文集 Vol.36 No.-

This paper attempts to suggest an alternative regional policy of agricultural restructuring and strategies for food processing industry support in Chonbuk. Chonbuk is on the threshold of serious restructuring against the trade liberalization. The increasing pressure of agricultural import liberalization from abroad has given great burden to Chonbuk agricultural sector which has lagged behind the average growth of national agriculture. The challange is to find an orderly process of restructuring that will achieve a more improvement of productivity and stability. This study suggests diversification out of rice monoculture into a multicrop enterprise system as an essential component of agricultural restructuring, induced by the changing relative profitability of rice and nonrice enterprise. The potential for diversification out of rice depends on both physical and economic factors. The profitability of diversification is constrained by both markets and physical infrastructure. Successful transition from rice monoculture to a rice based farming system in Chonbuk should be induced by market forces. The Korean dietary pattern has been changed drastically in parallel with economic growth and the share of processed foods in the daily diet has been increasing over the last decade. Thus, the Chonbuk local government should encourage the growth of the food industry which is projected to continue to grow in the comming years. The structure of the food industry in Korea is lather unique in that small-sized firms produce a greater part of the total output. One major problem facing the small firms in the food industry is that they are often too small to exploit economies of scale in production and marketing. Some small-sized companies are being gradually phased out of business due to shortage of labor and high cost seructure. The expansion of export market is expected to accelerate the development of food industry. In order to keep ahead of competition in export markets, Chonbuk local government should undertake an important role in establishing food combinat to adopt a restructuring and upgrading strategies for food processing industry support.

      • 안면비대칭에 대한 주관적 인지도와 정모두부방사선사진 분석치의 연관성

        안정순,황현식,김창수,김경근 전남대학교 치의학연구소 2001 구강과학 Vol.13 No.3

This study was aimed how posteroanterior cephalometric measurements affect the perception of the patient about his/her facial asymmetry. One hundred orthodontic patients, over the age of 12, who required a posteroanterior cephalogram in the Department of Orthodontics of Chonnam National University Hospital were used as the subject. They were asked if they thought their faces are asymmetrical. Their responses were classified into 5 groups based on the level of asymmetry as follows : Definitely No, Probably No, Don't Know. Probably Yes, Definitely Yes. Nine linear and four angular measurements from each posteroanterior cephalometric radiographs were analysed on the standard of the line between crista galli and anterior nasal spine to show the extent of asymmetry. Through this comparative study, the following results were obtained. 1. As the deviation of menton and the midline discrepancy of the upper and lower jaws were greater, the perception of patients about their facial asymmetry was higher. 2. All the measurements from the group "Don't Know" showed no statistical difference with those of the groups "Definitely No" or "Probably No." 3. All the measurements from the group "Probably Yes" showed no statistical difference with those of the group "Definitely Yes." The above results suggest that it may be helpful for the orthodontic diagnosis to ask patients' perception of their own facial asymmetry.

THE FUNDAMENTAL SHOCK-VORTEX INTERACTION PATTERNS THAT DEPEND ON THE VORTEX FLOW REGIMES

        Chang, Keun-Shik,Barik, Hrushikesh,Chang, Se-Myong Korea Society of Computational Fluids Engineering 2009 한국전산유체공학회지 Vol.14 No.3

The shock wave is deformed and the vortex is elongated simultaneously during the shock-vortex interaction. More precisely, the shock wave is deformed to a S-shape, consisting of a leading shock and a lagging shock by which the corresponding local vortex flows are accelerated and decelerated, respectively: the vortex flow swept by the leading shock is locally expanded and the one behind the lagging shock is locally compressed. As the leading shock escapes the vortex in the order of microseconds, the expanded flow region is quickly changed to a compression region due to the implosion effect. An induced shock is developed here and propagated against the vortex flow. This happens for a strong vortex because the tangential flow velocity of the vortex core is high enough to make the induced-shock wave speed supersonic relative to the vortex flow. For a weak shock, the vortex is basically subsonic and the induced shock wave is absent. For a vortex of intermediate strength, an induced shock wave is developed in the supersonic region but dissipated prematurely in the subsonic region. We have expounded these three shock-vortex interaction patterns that depend on the vortex flow regime using a third-order ENO method and numerical shadowgraphs.

        ″Drifting Cups on a Meandering Stream″in Korea

Chang, Keun-Shik The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers 2001 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.15 No.12

The Posuk-Chung Pavilion if a defunct irregular stone water channel in Kyongju, Korea, once used for the meandering stream feast'by kings of Silla Dynasty during the first millennium. The poets were seated around this stone water channel who composed the Chinese poems, overlooking the streams. They load to take the punishment drinks unless they finished the poem before the drifting cup filled with the rice wine arrived at their seats on the meandering stream. In this paper, we have made computer simulation as well as well as model experiment on the ancient meandering stream of the Posuk-Chung Pavilion. The computational results are compared with the experiment and the channel flow characteristics are delineated here. It is discussed how the present Posuk-Chung channel is morphologically distinguished from the Chinese and Japanese meandering streams.

      • The Ultimate Pattern of Shock-Vortex Interaction

        Keun-Shik Chang,Hrushikesh Barik,Se-Myong Chang 한국전산유체공학회 2008 한국전산유체공학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2008 No.-

As a shock impinges into a vortex of variable strength, complex shock diffraction can occur. Since a vortex has a fixed rotating direction, the shock wave travelling in one direction creates strong asymmetry in the vortex flow field. The process is that first the shock is divided into two parts by the vortex. One part is moving in the adverse direction opposite to the vortex flow which is captured by the vortex center. The other part is moving in the favorable direction, namely, in the direction same as the vortex flow; it is swung around the vortex, accelerating the vortex flow. In this paper we have investigated numerically using ENO scheme how and why the shock-vortex interaction patterns appear so different for different parametric values. Conclusion is that there are three different types of shock-vortex interaction depending on two related parameters: shock Mach number and vortex Mach number. We present a parameter map by which we can discern what type of interaction pattern appears as a shock impinges into a vortex.

      • Computer Models on Oxygenation Process in the Pulmonary Circulation by Gas Diffusion

Chang, Keun-Shik,Bae, Hwang Biomedical Engineering Society for Circulation 2006 International Journal of Vascular Biomedical Engin Vol.4 No.1

In this article we introduce computer models that have been developed in the past to determine the concentration of metabolic gases, the oxygen and carbon dioxide, along the pulmonary circulation. The terminal concentration of these gases in the arterial blood is related with the total change of the partial pressure of the same gases in the alveoli for the time beginning with inspiration and ending with expiration. It is affected not only by the ventilation-perfusion ratio and the gas diffusion capacity of the lung membrane but also by the pulmonary defect such as shunt, dead space, diffusion impairment and ventilation-perfusion mismatch. Some pathological pulmonary symptoms such as ARDS and CDPD can be understood through the mathematical models of these pulmonary dysfunctions. Quantitative study on the blood oxygenation process using various computer models is therefore of foremost importance in order to monitor not only the pulmonary health but also the cardiac output and cell metabolism. Reviewed in this paper include the basic and advanced methods that enable numerical study on the gas exchange and on the arterial oxygenation process, which might depend on the various heart and lung physiological conditions listed above.
