Use of iterative stepwise methods has been a common practice in designing multicomponent distillation columns. Sometimes, it is difficult to justify iterative calculations from the point of view of cost-effectiveness, particularly when the input information does not have precision or accuracy, or when one simply does not have sufficient information for the system under study. In this work a new method was proposed which permits quick and simple procedures giving rise to values of 14 different parameters needed for the design of a column for a multicomponent distillation Several simplifying assumptions are made in the course: the usual one of a quasibinary in which the average relative volatility of the light key referred to the heavy in the bottoms and the light key referred to the heavy in the bottoms and the light key referred to the heavy in the distillate, Prater and Boyd's approximaton for column efficiency, approximations for expedience that arise in the actual mechanical fabrications of columns according to the common industrial practice, and other simplifications in the heat exchanger calcualtions. In order to validate the proposed method, comparisons are made with other popular methods such as Smith-Brinkly Short-Cut Method(SB), Fenske-Underwood-Erbar-Maddox Short-Cut Method(FUEM) and Step-by-Step Method(SBSM), by means of an actual design example. Departure from the results by the Step-by-Step Method was about 10%, the latter being the method yielding the highest accuracy as well as precision. Also, in this work procedures are presented for calculations of several hardware parameters of a distillation column and of heat exchangers annexed to the column.
B형 만성 활동성 간염 환자에서 Prednisolone 단기이탈 및 Alpha Interferon 병합요법의 효과

To evaluate the safety and efficacy of Pd withdrawal followed by recombinant alpha- Interferon 2b therapy. Nine patients were given a single daily subcutaneous injection of ^α-Interferon at a dose of 3 x 10 exp(6) units/day for first weeks and thrice weekly for next 15 weeks (maintenance) after pd tappered over 6 weeks. To evaluate the efficacy of therapy, we measured serum aminotransferase activities monthly during and after therapy, and also measured serm HBsAg, HBeAg and DNA probe before and after therapy. To evaluate the safety of therapy, all patients checked peripheral blood WBC, Hemoglobin, Platelet, BUN and Creatinine. The results were as follows : 1. In control group, the normalization of s-AST & ALT level, negative seroconversion of DNA probe & HBeAg were observed in 1/12(8%) & 7/10(17%), 0/10(0%) & 0/12(0%) at 6 months later, and maintained response in 1/11(9%) & 1/11(9%), 2/9(22%) & 2/11(18%) until 1 years later. 2. In treatment group, Serum AST and ALT returned to normal in 8/9 & 8/9 cases (89%) after 1 montns Tx. (mean serum AST : 33±8, ALT : 34±12 IU/ml) and maintained to normal response in 5/9(56%) & 6/9 cases(67%)after 6 months Tx. (mean s-AST : 55±43, ALT : 66±84 IU/ml), 3/9(33%) & 4/9 cases(44%) after 1 years Tx. It was statistically significant reponse except s-AST of after 1 years Tx. 3. In treatment group, s- HBeAg returned to normal in 3/9 cases(33%) after 1 months Tx., and maintained to normal response in 1/7 & 1/4 cases among follow up patients in after 6 & 12 months Tx. Serm DNA probe level were observed significantly negative seroconversion in 8/9 cases(89%) after 1 months Tx. (p<0.003), and maintained to negative response in 2/6 & 1/3 cases after 6 & 12 months Tx. 4. Serum AST, ALT, HBeAg and DNA probe were not significantly correlated with therapeutic response in relation to histologic diagnosis. 5. Fever and myalgia were noted in 9(100%) & 6(67%) cases. Headache, mild hair loss, anorexia, nausea, facial flushing & diarrhea were noted in few cases. Peripheral WBC(3cases) & platelet counts(3cases) were decreased transiently. This study shows that Pd withdrawal followed by recombinant alpha Interferon 2b therapy may be safe and effective in decrease the level of s-DNA probe, transaminase activity, loss of HBeAg and less adverse effect of clinical and hematologic examinations in patients with CAH type B. But it was necessary for study with large number of patients, more prolonged follow up duration and more strict control study.

Environmental and medium factors were investigated as basic data for optimizing DHA production when using Thraustochytrium aureum. To study the effect of environmental conditions, the rotation speed and culture temperature were changed. Plus the trend of the growth characteristics, lipid content in the biomass, and DHA content in lipids were evaluated according to various initial glucose concentrations. The biomass, lipid, and DHA analyses showed that the physiological characteristics of T. aureum were closely related with the environmental and medium conditions, as in the case of other marine microorganisms. For example, a low rotation speed of 50 rpm lowered the cell growth rate as well as the DHA content in the lipids. A low temperature had a negative effect on the cell growth, yet a positive effect on the lipid content in the biomass. Different initial glucose concentrations had no effect on the lipid content in the biomass or DHA content in the lipids, yet did affect the cell growth. Accordingly, these results show that environmental and medium factors must be synthetically considered in order to optimize DHA production when using T. aureum.
The Distribution and Position of Fatty Acids in Glycerides Hydrolyzed from Fish Oil by Lipase

In order to determine the position and the content of fatty acids attached to glycerides and the migration degree of fatty acids in the migration reaction, fish oil was hydrolyzed with lipolase-l00T which was derived from Aspergillus oryzae. The content of fatty acids in the glyceride mixture was analyzed and compared with that of fish oil. The amounts of fatty acid in a 2-position and the migration degree of the fatty acid in 2,3-DG (diglyceride) and 2-MG (monoglyceride) were carefully calculated. The results showed that approximately 95% (w/w) of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and 65% of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) were attached to the 2-position of glycerides in fish oil. Approximately 87% (w/w) of DHA and 75% of EPA remained in 2,3-DG, and 88% of DHA and 65% of EPA in 2MG were not involved in the migration reaction.
A Steady-State Combustion Modelling of Composite Solid Propellants

By depicting the transfer of heat and combustion reaction to take place within thin gas layers close to the propellant surface burning in a steady-state fashion, a mathematical equation has been deduced to describe the burning rate of solid propellant as a function of initial grain temperature and chamber pressure. It has been also assumed that chemical reaction could take place in premixing-diffusing zone but were carried out mainly in the reaction-flame zone. All these phenomena taken place in each zone of combustion have been assumed to be steady-state. In the present investigation, the equation, γ=$\kappa$$.$(1/R(T(sub)i+C))(sup)n$.$exp(-E(sub)a/R(T(sub)i+C))(P/z) is being presented and it is compared with experimental data. The proposed model has been tested and evaluated vis-a-vis strand burner data for three different propellants based on CTPB, and it has been found that the deviation of the computed burning rates from the measured rates ranged up to 2%.
