For the ecological study on the macrozoobenthos around Taesan Industrial complex, the materials werecollected from polluted area Tokkot, and unpolluted area P`adori by qualitative and quantitative sampling methods. Macrobenthic animals collected during the investigation period were identified 57 species in total which were consisting of 2 spp. in Hydrozoa, 4 spp. in Anthozoa among Cnidaria, 5 spp. in Polyplacophora, 38 spp. in Gastropoda, 6 spp. in Bivalia among Mollusca, and 2 spp. in Ascidiacea among Chordata. And they were 43 spp. on August and 25 spp. on April from Tokkot, and 25 spp. on August and 24 spp. on April from P`adori. Macrobenthic communities indicated that cnidarian species didn`t occur from both sites, mainly molluscans occurred, and the biomass of them were decreased in polluted area. The dominant species investigated in both sites according to the importance value(Ⅳ) were as follows: Crassostrea gigas and Littorina brevicula at Tokkot, especially Lasaea undulata on April; Mytilus edulis, Amarocium plicatum and Crassostrea gigas at P`adori on August, Crassostrea gigas and Littorina bravicula on April. In order to understand the structure of macrobenthic community, such as ecological indices like species diversity(H ̄), eveness(e) and dominance(C) were measured: H ̄: 1.23-2.26; e: 0.29-0.54; C: 0.25-0.55. Similarity coefficients of both sites are very high, 0.33 on August and 0.47 on April.

1986년 7월 황해, 고군산도의 말도 앞 수심 10m 인 곳에서 SCUBA 에 의해 채집된 유낭류를 동정한 결과 입이끼벌레과, 종이끼벌레속에 속하는 1 신종이 밝혀져 Codonellina parviavicularia (작은조두체종이끼벌레) 로 명명하고 기재 보고한다. 본 신종의 특징은 악이 둥근 삼각형인 작은 조두체와 혀모양이 조두체의 두 종류를 갖고 있는 점이다. 완 모식표본은 이대 생물학과에 보관되어 있다.

The qualitative and quantitative analyses of macrozoobenthic communities sampled from Onsan bay of the eastern coast of Korea were conducted, in this study, to investigate the status of marine pollution. In each survey site, judging from the results of the combined k-dominance curve for species biomass and individual numbers, it may be assessed that Chundo island, located in innerside of Onsan bay, was in the state of polluted condition both in the summer and winter seasons; on the other hand, Tangsa, the control site of this study, was in the state of unpolluted condition. The species composition of the Chundo island, in addition, was rather lower than that of the Tangsa in richness and showed critical differences with the control site in the number of molluscan species collected as dead shell (16 spp. from Chundo island; 2 spp. from Tangsa respectively). It is inferred that the resultant macrozoobenthic community structure of the Onsan bay was related to the high concentration of heavy metals in seawater and bioaccumulation, attributed to the influx of the heavy metals from the surroundings, the non-ferrous and the petrochemical industrial complex.
