Enhanced corrosion resistance by polypyrrole and Ti3C2Tx-acrylic epoxy double-layer coating for 304SS bipolar plates of PEMFC

        Haifeng Bian,Guoli Zhang,Qingxi Zhai,Yanyan Du,Yujie Ma,Beibei Yang,Shaochun Tang,Duan Bin,Xiangkang Meng,Hongbin Lu 한국공업화학회 2023 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.122 No.-

Stainless steel (SS) is a promising material for designing bipolar plates (BPs), but their further applicationis limited by serious corrosion problems in the acidic environment. Ti3C2Tx is expected to be used for SSBPs coatings, while galvanic corrosion will occur after the damage of Ti3C2Tx coating. Herein, a PPY/Ti3C2Tx-AE double-layer coating (DC) is well-designed and prepared on 304SS BP, which is composedof an inner electropolymerized PPY layer and an outer Ti3C2Tx-acrylic epoxy layer. When tested in0.2 M HCl solution, the corrosion potential and corrosion current density of the DC are 38 mV and0.00927 lA cm2 respectively, which are superior to those of the PPY coating and the Ti3C2Tx coating. Moreover, the DC presents the best long-term stability among the three coatings. The excellent corrosionresistance is attributed to the barrier and anodic protection effects as well as the solution of galvanic corrosion. The new coating system provides a new insight into the design of DC coatings of SS BPs.

Effects of Diosgenin on Cell Proliferation Induced by IGF-1 in Primary Human Thyrocytes

        Dezhi Bian,Zhiwei Li,Hongyan Ma,Sumin Mu,Chunyan Ma,Bin Cui,Ling Gao,Jiajun Zhao 대한약학회 2011 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.34 No.6

Others and our previous studies showed that the increase of IGF-1 was involved in the formation of goiter. Our aim here was to evaluate the possible effects of diosgenin on cell proliferation induced by IGF-1 in primary human thyroid cells. The cells were treated with or without different concentrations of diosgenin in the present or absent of IGF-1 for 24, 48 and 72 h, respectively. Cell viability was determined by MTT, and cell proliferation was tested by EdU assay, and cell cycle analysis was performed by FACS. In addition, Cyclin D1 and B1 protein expression was tested by Western Blotting, respectively. We found that IGF-1 promoted cell cycle progression to S phase and increased the primary human thyroid cells proliferation. Diosgenin decreased the protein expression of cyclin D1 and resulted in cell G_0 /G_1 arrest. Importantly, when the human thyrocytes were exposed to diosgenin in the present of IGF-1,the IGF-1 inducing proliferation was significantly decreased and the proportion of the cells in G_0 /G_1 phase was increased, while that of S phase was decreased. This study shows that diosgenin inhibited cell proliferation, caused G_0 /G_1 arrest, and could inhibit cell proliferation induced by IGF-1 in primary human thyroid cells.

Non-conservative Characteristics of Seawater Calcium Ion in Offshore Aquaculture Areas: A Case Study in the Muping Marine Ranch, Yantai, China

        Zhang Zhe,Bian Hai-Zhen,Hu Yu-Bin 한국해양과학기술원 2023 Ocean science journal Vol.58 No.3

Calcium ( Ca2+) is a major ion in the ocean, and its ratio to salinity is generally considered to be relatively constant. However, its conservativeness is often compromised in offshore waters, particularly in marine shellfish cultured areas, where the Ca2+ concentration could be affected by biological activities. Therefore, a deviation might occur in evaluating ocean acidification in an aquaculture area when the aragonite saturation (Ωarag) is calculated based on the Ca2+ concentration via the calciumsalinity ratio. This study measured the Ca2+ concentration, and explored the distribution of Ca2+ and the causes of excess calcium ( Ca2+ excess) as well as the degree of acidification based on a field survey from 2020 to 2021 in the Muping Marine Ranch, Yantai. The results showed that the Ca2+ concentrations in both surface and bottom seawater and vertical differences were higher in summer than in other seasons. The measured Ca2+ concentrations in seawater were on average 0.372 mmol/ kg higher than those calculated by the calcium-salinity ratio. The riverine input was the leading cause for the formation of Ca2+ excess, which was reduced to some extent by the activity of cultured calcifying organisms. The Ωarag obtained from the measured Ca2+ was on average 0.10 higher than that derived from the calculated Ca2+ via the calcium-salinity ratio, indicating that the ocean acidification level might be somewhat overestimated if Ωarag is derived from the calculated Ca2+ in coastal areas, especially in estuarine environments that are heavily influenced by riverine input. Therefore, the investigation of the non-conservative characteristics of Ca2+ in offshore seawater should help to accurately assess the acidification level of aquaculture areas.

Design of a High-Precision Constant Current AC-DC Converter with Inductance Compensation

        Changyuan Chang,Yang Xu,Bin Bian,Yao Chen,Junjie Hu 전력전자학회 2016 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.16 No.3

A primary-side regulation AC-DC converter operating in the PFM (Pulse Frequency Modulation) mode with a high precision output current is designed, which applies a novel inductance compensation technique to improve the precision of the output current, which reduces the bad impact of the large tolerance of the transformer primary side inductance in the same batch. In this paper, the output current is regulated by the OSC charging current, which is controlled by a CC (constant current) controller. Meanwhile, for different primary inductors, the inductance compensation module adjusts the OSC charging current finely to improve the accuracy of the output current. The operation principle and design of the CC controller and the inductance compensation module are analyzed and illustrated herein. The control chip is implemented based on a TSMC 0.35μm 5V/40V BCD process, and a 12V/1.1A prototype has been built to verify the proposed control method. The deviation of the output current is within ±3% and the variation of the output current is less than 1% when the inductances of the primary windings vary by 10%.

Aim: To clarify any association between the hOGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism and susceptibility to gastric cancer. Methods: A meta-analysis based on 11 eligible case-control studies involving 5,107 subjects was carried out to summarize the data on the association between hOGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism and gastric cancer risk. Results: No association was found between hOGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism and gastric cancer risk (dominant model: OR = 0.95, 95% CI: 0.83-1.09, p = 0.486, ph (p values for heterogeneity) = 0.419; additive model: OR = 1.02, 95% CI: 0.81-1.30, p = 0.850, ph = 0.181; recessive model: OR = 1.09, 95% CI: 0.80-1.48, p = 0.586, ph = 0.053). Subgroup analysis based on ethnicity (Asian and Caucasian) and smoking status (ever smoker and never smoker) did did notpresent any significant association. Sensitivity analysis did not perturb the results. Conclusions: This study strongly suggested there might be no association between the hOGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism and gastric cancer risk. However, larger scale studies are needed for confirmation.

      • Bevacizumab Regulates Cancer Cell Migration by Activation of STAT3

        Wu, Huan-Huan,Zhang, Shuai,Bian, Huan,Li, Xiao-Xu,Wang, Lin,Pu, Yin-Fei,Wang, Yi-Xiang,Guo, Chuan-Bin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.15

There are numerous clinical cases indicating that long-term use of bevacizumab may increase the invasiveness of tumors. However, to date, little is known about underlying molecular mechanisms. Therefore, the purpose of our study was to investigate effects of bevacizumab in four cancer cells lines (WSU-HN6, CAL27, Tca83, and HeLa). It was found to promote migration and invasion in the WSU-HN6 and Tca83 cases, while exerting inhibitory effects in CAL27 and HeLa cells. The signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) 3 inhibitors niclosamide and S3I-201 inhibited the STAT3 signal pathway, which is activated by bevacizumab. These inhibitors also substantially blocked bevacizumab-induced migration of WSU-HN6 and Tca83 cells. Bevacizumab upregulated interleukin (IL)-6 and phosphorylated (p)-STAT3 expression time-dependently. Therefore, we propose that bevacizumab has differential effects on the migration of different cancer cell lines and promotes migration via the IL-6/STAT3 signaling pathway.

Immersion and Invariance Adaptive Control for a Class of Nonlinear Systems With Uncertain Parameters

        Jian-Hui Wang,Guang-Ping He,Gui-Bin Bian,Jun-Jie Yuan,Shi-Xiong Geng,Cheng-Jie Zhang,Cheng-Hao Zhao 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2024 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.22 No.9

An adaptive control method based on immersion and invariance (I&I) is presented in a class of nonlinear systems with time-varying uncertain parameters. A parameter estimation law based on reference models using I&I is designed to accelerate the convergence of estimated parameters to the true value, enabling the closed-loop system to reach the predefined target system on the manifold more quickly and reducing the energy consumption of the system. The inherent integrability obstacles in I&I are overcome by using dynamic scaling techniques, reducing the complexity of controller design. Stability analysis of the closed-loop system demonstrates that the proposed control method can achieve asymptotic stability control of the target system, and verified the robustness of the closedloop system in the face of external disturbances. Finally, simulations of attitude tracking control demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.

Effect of different dielectrics on performance of sub-5.1 nm blue phosphorus Schottky barrier field-effect transistor from quantum transport simulation

        Chen Wen,Jing Sicheng,Wang Yu,Pan Jinghua,Li Wei,Bian Baoan,Liao Bin 한국물리학회 2022 Current Applied Physics Vol.43 No.-

Two-dimensional materials have attracted great attention because of their ultra-thin atomic layer thickness and high carrier mobility. In this work, we investigated the electronic transport of in-plane (IP) heterojunction based on Cu/Blue Phosphorus (BlueP), and the results suggest the metallization at the IP Cu/BlueP contact interface and a small Schottky barrier. Then, we investigated the performance of 5.1 nm IP BlueP Schottky barrier field-effect transistors (SBFET) with different dielectrics (SiO2, Al2O3, Y2O3, and La2O3) using quantum transport simulations. The results show that IP BlueP SBFETs with four dielectrics satisfy the off-state requirement of the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) for the high-performance (HP) device. However, the on-state current of only IP BlueP SBFET with La2O3 satisfies the requirements of ITRS. This will provide a reference for designing BlueP SBFETs.
