1979년부터 중국이 외부세계로부터 개방을 한다는 개혁정책을 실행할 때 FDI의 유입은 법과 정책, 그리고 규정의 변화때문에 많은 성장과 쇠퇴를 거듭하였다. 처음 유입은 꾸준히 늘어났지만 전체적인 분량은 아주 한정되어 있었다. 그이유는 FDI의 활동공간이 4개의 적은 "특별 경제 지역"(SEZs)으로 제한되어 있었기 때문이다. 그후 1980년도 중간에는 FDI 유입이 증가하기 시작했는데 이유는 거대한 영역의 해안벨트와, 그리고 주요한 공업과 금융 센터를 포함해서 "경제와 기술적 개발 지역"(ETDZs)을 수립 하도록 하고, 세금혜택 등 여러가지 외국 기업들을 유치하기 위한 적극적인 정책과 규정들이 마련되었기 때문이다. 천안문 사태가 FDI의 유입을 주춤하게 했지만 곧 성장은 재기 되었으며, 특별히 1992년도 중국은 52개 도시와 지역 그리고 서비스 산업부분도 외부 투자에 문을 열었다.

<P>Based on a data sample of (448.1 +/- 2.9) x 10(6)Psi(3686) decays collected with the BESIII experiment, a search for the flavor changing neutral current transition Psi(3686) -> Lambda(+)(c) pe(+) e(-) + c.c. is performed for the first time. No signal candidates are observed and the upper limit on the branching fraction of Psi(3686) -> Lambda(+)(c) pe(+) e(-) is determined to be 1.7 x 10(-6) at the 90% confidence level. The result is consistent with expectations from the standard model, and no evidence for new physics is found.</P>

Effects of Obesity on Cervical Disc Arthroplasty Complications

Objective: High body mass index is a well-established modifiable comorbidity that is known to increase postoperative complications in all types of surgery, including spine surgery. Obesity is increasing in prevalence amongst the general population. As this growing population of obese patients ages, understanding how they faire undergoing cervical disc arthroplasty (CDA) is important for providing safe and effective evidence-based care for cervical degenerative pathology. Methods: Our study used the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project’s National Inpatient Sample to assess patients undergoing CDA comparing patient characteristics and outcomes in nonobese patients to obese patients from 2004 to 2014. Results: Our study found a significant increase in the overall utilization of CDA as a treatment modality (p = 0.012) and a statistically significant increase in obese patients undergoing CDA (p < 0.0001) from 2004 to 2014. Obesity was identified as an independent risk factor associated with increased rates of inpatient neurologic complications (odds ratio [OR], 6.99; p = 0.03), pulmonary embolus (OR, 5.41; p = 0.05), and wound infection (OR, 6.97; p < 0.001) in patients undergoing CDA from 2004 to 2014. Conclusion: In patients undergoing CDA, from 2004 to 2014, obesity was identified as an independent risk factor with significantly increased rates of inpatient neurologic complications, pulmonary embolus and wound infection. Large prospective trials are needed to validate these findings.

<P>We measure the branching fraction and CP violation asymmetry in the decay B-0 -> pi(0)pi(0), using a data sample of 752 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. The obtained branching fraction and direct CP asymmetry are B(B -> pi(0)pi(0)) = [1.31 +/- 0.19(stat) +/- 0.19(syst)] x 10(-6) and A(CP) = +0.14 +/- 0.36(stat) +/- 0.10(syst), respectively. The signal significance, including the systematic uncertainty, is 6.4 standard deviations. We combine these results with Belle's earlier measurements of B-0 -> pi(+)pi(-) and B-+/- -> pi(+/-)pi(0) to exclude the CP-violating parameter phi(2) from the range 15.5 degrees < phi(2) < 75.0 degrees at 95% confidence level.</P>

<P>We report the result from the first search for D-0 decays to invisible final states. The analysis is performed on a data sample of 924 fb(-1) collected at and near the gamma(4S) and gamma(5S) resonances with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(|) e(-) collider. The absolute branching fraction is determined using an inclusive D-0 sample, obtained by fully reconstructing the rest of the particle system including the other charmed particle. No significant signal yield is observed and an upper limit of 9.4 x 10(-5) is set on the branching fraction of D-0 to invisible final states at 90% confidence level.</P>
