The hybridization effect of sisal/cotton interwoven fabric backed by paper roving with jute woven material isinvestigated in the presence of polylactide (PLA) matrix. The biocomposites (five) were produced through varying different(100/0, 75/25, 50/50, 25/75, and 0/100) proportions of sisal/cotton with jute woven fabrics respectively in the laminates. Afterthe successful reinforcements, mechanical properties were investigated in terms of tensile and flexural tests. Moreover, thewater absorption, thickness swelling, and moisture content tests were also examined for assessing the physical anddimensional stability of developed hybrid composites. The water absorption and thickness swelling tests were carried out inthe presence of water after 2 h and 24 h immersion. The highest mechanical properties were found in case of 100 % sisal/cotton reinforced composites whereas the lowest value was observed in case of 100 % jute fiber. The morphological views ofthe developed materials were also characterized using SEM (Scanning electron microscopy) to observe the surfaces beforeand after the tensile load. The SEM deployed EDX (energy-dispersive X-ray) linear scanning was applied to explore thepresence of different chemicals in the biocomposite systems. The reinforcement effects of different fibers loading incomposite systems were also tested in terms of regression analysis and found that sisal/cotton interwoven fabrics existsignificant influence in the composite systems to increase the mechanical properties.

A series of novel 2-(4-phenoxyphenyl)-1Hbenzimidazolederivatives was synthesized and testedin vitro on human chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML)cell line K562. Benzimidazoles containing 5-amidino (10),5-N-isopropylamidino (11), 5-bromo (13), and 5,6-dimethyl(14) derivatives exhibited remarkable cytotoxicactivity. The quantitative analysis of apoptosis by flowcytometrydemonstrated that the percentages of early andlate apoptotic K562 cells treated with these compoundswere significantly higher than cells without treatment. Wealso investigated the effects of these compounds on theexpression of apoptosis-related genes BAX, BCL-2, BADand BIM. Treatment of K562 cells wih compounds 10–14significantly increased the expression levels of the proapoptoticgenes BAX, BAD and BIM, whereas compound20 increased BAX and BAD.

A new class of N-substituted amidino-1-hydroxybenzimidazole derivatives (15-24) were synthesized and evaluated for their in vitro cytotoxic activities against human leukemia cell lines, HL-60 and K562. The preliminary results showed that compounds 16, 20, 21 and 23 had moderate antitumor activity against HL-60 cell line. Further investigation on the mechanism of the observed cytotoxic effects demonstrated that compound 21 increased the expression of autophagic and apoptotic genes and induced apoptosis of HL-60 cells.

Purpose: Perianal Buschke-Löwenstein tumor (BLT) is characterized by an exophytic cauliflower-like mass surrounding the perianal region. Its tendency to infiltrate the adjacent tissues, its massiveness, and its high recurrence rate cause difficulties in treatment. The aim of this study is to report our strategy with wide local excision and flap reconstruction for BLT.Methods: From November 2002 to June 2019, 11 patients (9 men) with a mean age of 33.45 years (range, 19–54 years) were operated on for BLT. All patients underwent wide local excision and V-Y flap reconstruction, supplemented with other flaps whenever needed. No additional modalities were used.Results: Two patients had a history of anal intercourse while all patients were human immunodeficiency virus-negative. The mean tumor length was 15.54 ± 1.34 cm (range, 10–26 cm). Human papillomavirus 6 was the most common type identified. Partial wound dehiscence developed in 3 patients, while anal stenosis, mucosal ectropion, or local recurrence was not observed during the mean follow-up period of 50.45 ± 1.75 months (range, 10–196 months).Conclusion: In patients with perianal BLT, wide local excision and flap reconstruction result in a high healing rate without significant complications.

We also presented actor square of crossed modules which are Lue, Norrie, Whitehead, Actor crossed modules. We gave a list of the simply connected and aspherical crossed modules of the direct products, sub-crossed modules and Factor crossed modules of the above crossed modules.

In this study, we consider the Hankel and Gram matrices which are defined by the elements of special number sequences. Firstly, the eigenvalues, determinant, and norms of the Hankel matrix defined by special number sequences are obtained. Afterwards, using the relationship between the Gram and Hankel matrices, the eigenvalues, determinants, and norms of the Gram matrices defined by number sequences are given.
Effects of Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha Blocker Adalimumab in Experimental Spinal Cord Injury

Objective : Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-${\alpha}$) have proven effects in pathogenesis of neuroinflammation after spinal cord injury (SCI). Current study is designed to evaluate the effects of an anti-TNF-${\alpha}$ agent, adalimumab, on spinal cord clip compression injury in rats. Methods : Thirty two male adult Wistar rats were divided into four groups (sham, trauma, infliximab, and adalimumab groups) and SCI was introduced using an aneurysm clip. Animals in treatment groups received 5 mg/kg subcutaneous adalimumab and infliximab right after the trauma. Malondialdehyde (MDA) levels were studied in traumatized spinal cord tissues 72 hours after the injury as a marker of lipid peroxidation. Results : Animals that received anti-TNF-${\alpha}$ agents are found to have significantly decreased MDA levels. MDA levels were significantly different between the trauma and infliximab groups (p<0.01) and trauma and adalimumab groups (p=0.022). There was no significant difference in neurological evaluation of the rats using Tarlov scale. Conclusion : These results suggest that, like infliximab, adalimumab has favorable effects on lipid peroxidation induced by spinal cord trauma in rats.
