Prevalence and Phylogenetic Analyses of Trichuris suis in Pigs in Hunan Province, Subtropical China

        Lei Tan,Aibing Wang,Jing Yi,Jiayu Li,Wei Liu 대한기생충학열대의학회 2018 The Korean Journal of Parasitology Vol.56 No.5

Trichuris suis infection in pigs is ubiquitous in intensive and extensive farms, which causes potential threat to human health. The objective of this research was to investigate the prevalence of T. suis in pigs in Hunan province. Total 2,267 fresh fecal samples distributed in 28 pig farms from 7 different administrative regions (Hunan province) were evaluated for the existence of T. suis eggs using saturated NaCl floating method. The average infection rate of T. suis in pigs was 8.91% in Hunan province. To determine genetic variation of the gained T. suis isolates in the present study, the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions from nuclear ribosomal DNA (rDNA) of 7 T. suis isolates were cloned and analyzed. Nucleotide diversities were 1.0-3.5% and 0-3.8% for ITS-1 and ITS-2, respectively. Phylogenetic analyses indicated that all isolates collected in the present study and T. suis available in Genbank generated a monophyletic clade. The present investigation revealed high infection rates of T. suis in pigs in Hunan province, which shed light on making effective measures to prevent and control T. suis infection in pigs in Hunan province.

Efficacy and Safety of Pulse Magnetic Therapy System in Insomnia Disorder: A Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial

        Liao Jiwu,Wang Sisi,Zhou Borong,Liang Wei,Ma Ping,Lin Min,Lin Weisen,Li Congrui,Zhang Xiaotao,Li Hongyao,Cui Yin,Hu Jiajia,Qin Yuanyi,Deng Yanhua,Fu Aibing,Zhu Tianhua,Zhang Shanlian,Qu Yunhong,Xing L 대한신경정신의학회 2023 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.20 No.6

Objective This study’s objective is to assess the efficacy and safety of Pulsed Magnetic Therapy System (PMTS) in improving insomnia disorder. Methods Participants with insomnia disorder were randomly assigned to receive either PMTS or sham treatment for four weeks (n= 153; PMTS: 76, sham: 77). Primary outcomes are the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) scores at week 0 (baseline), 1, 2, 3, 4 (treatment), and 5 (follow-up). Secondary outcomes are the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index at baseline and week 4, and weekly sleep diary-derived values for sleep latency, sleep efficiency, real sleep time, waking after sleep onset, and sleep duration. Results The ISI scores of the PMTS group and the sham group were 7.13±0.50, 11.07±0.51 at week 4, respectively. There was a significant group×time interaction for ISI (F3.214, 485.271=24.25, p<0.001, ηp 2=0.138). Only the PMTS group experienced continuous improvement throughout the study; in contrast, the sham group only experienced a modest improvement after the first week of therapy. At the end of the treatment and one week after it, the response of the PMTS group were 69.7% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 58.6%–79.0%), 75.0% (95% CI: 64.1%–83.4%), respectively, which were higher than the response of the sham group (p<0.001). For each of the secondary outcomes, similar group×time interactions were discovered. The effects of the treatment persisted for at least a week. Conclusion PMTS is safe and effective in improving insomnia disorders.

Magnetic properties of FexCo1-x/CoyFe1-yFe2O4 composite under hydrothermal condition

        Shuiming Li,Qin Wang,Aibing Wu,Hua Yang 한국물리학회 2009 Current Applied Physics Vol.9 No.6

The metal–ferrite composites FexCo1-x/CoyFe1-yFe2O4 are synthesized by using disproportion of Fe (II) and reduction of Co (II) by Fe0 under hydrothermal condition. The size of the particles of the composites decreases as the [KOH] decreasing. The composites are measured by TEM and it can be deduced that when [KOH] = 0.1, the size of the alloy body-centered cubic (BCC) in composites is 20 ± 7 nm, the size of the Cobalt ferrite (spinel) is 170 ± 50 nm. The maximal value of the saturation magnetization (Ms) of the composite is about 100.14 emu/g, which is synthesized under Co (II)/Fe (II) = 0.05, [KOH] = 1 N, T = 150 ℃ and t = 3 h. The value of Hc of the composite synthesized under Co (II)/Fe (II) = 0.5, t = 3 h, T = 150 ℃ and [KOH] = 10.2 mol/L is about 2878.19 Oe. The Fe–Co alloy is synthesized through a reduction reaction of the composites in a flowing gaseous mixture. There is a maximal value (302.9 emu/g) of the Ms for the alloys generated at 1000 ℃, which is the Co0.412Fe0.588 alloy. Effects of Surface Energy on the Nonlinear Behaviors of Laminated Nanobeams

Menghua Xu,Baolin Wang,Aibing Yu 한국정밀공학회 2017 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.4 No.1

Using an improved multilayer-beams model, the surface effect caused by surface stress and surface elasticity on mechanical properties of laminated nanobeams in bending, bucking and vibration is incorporated into the nonlinear beam theory. Analytical solutions are obtained to study the influence of surface and interface effects for simply supported boundary conditions. Unlike the deduction of previous beam theory, the theoretical derivation in present work includes the effect of both surface and interface. Numerical cases of double layer and multilayer Nickel-silver laminated beams indicate that the interface effect observably change the elastic behaviour of laminated beams on the nanometer scale, especially for multilayer cases.

Synthesis of N-doped Carbon Spheres Using Extended Stöber Method for SO2 Adsorption

        Yunqian Li,Yifeng Yu,Lei Liu,Hongliang Zhang,Guoxu Wang,Aibing Chen 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2017 NANO Vol.12 No.1

SO2 is one of the major pollutants in the atmosphere. N-doped microporous carbon spheres (NCS) have been demonstrated to be effective for SO2 adsorption. Here we report the synthesis of monodispersed NCS by the extended Stöber method with urea resorcinol-formaldehyde resins as carbon source, urea as nitrogen source and ammonia as catalyst in an ethanol-water mixed solvent. The obtained carbon spheres show a uniform diameter of around 550 nm, specific surface area of 476 m2 g-1, micropores pore volume of 0.20 cm3 g-1 and nitrogen doping. The NCS manifest special performance for SO2 capture with capability of 75.34 mg g-1 and good cycling stability, due to the large surface area, abundant micropores and nitrogen functionality.
