한국 다국적기업 해외자회사의 현지화 수준과 경영성과 - 산업별ㆍ국가별 성과요인 비교 분석

본 논문은 한국 다국적 기업의 자료를 이용하여 해외직접투자에서 현지화가 자회사의 경영성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 한국수출입은행에서 제공하는 61개 국가에 진출해있는 2,116개 한국 다국적기업의 현지자회사에 대한 2008년에서 2011년까지의 자료를 사용하고 있다. 고정효과 패널선형모형을 사용해 분석한 결과 현지화가 자회사의 경영성과에 미치는 영향은 산업별, 국가그룹별로 매우 상이하게 나타났다. 제조업의 경우 현지매출비중의 증가는 중국에 진출해 있는 현지자회사의 경영성과에만 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 반면, 현지매입비중의 증가는 중국을 제외한 기타 개도국에서만 유의하게 정(+)의 영향을 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다. 반면, 서비스업의 경우 해당 투자대상국이 선진국일 경우 현지매출비중, 현지매입비중, 현지관리자비중 모두 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 중국의 자회사에 대해서는 현지매출비중만이 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. In this study we analyze the performance of overseas subsidiaries of Korean multinationals with localization in sales, purchase, and employment. We use the data of 2,116 overseas subsidiaries in 61 countries between 2008 and 2011 provided by The Export-Inport Bank of Korea. As a result, analysis shows that the effect of localization on the performance is quite different by sectors and countries which the subsidiaries have entered. In the manufacturing sector, increase of local sales has positive effect only in China, while local purchase improves the performance of the subsidiaries in developing counties excluding China. However, the subsidiaries which had made a foray to service sector in advanced countries aquired better performance with localization of sales, purchase, and employment, whereas those in China had no merit except localization of purchase.

With rapid growth in light-harvesting efficiency from 3.8 to 25.8%, organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted great attention as promising photovoltaic devices. However, despite of their outstanding performance, the commercialization of PSCs has been suffered from severe stability issues, especially for UV and humidity: (i) UV irradiation towards PSCs is able to lead UV-induced decomposition of perovskite films or catalytic reactions of charge-transporting layers, and (ii) exposure to surrounding humidity causes irreversible hydration of perovskite layers by the penetration of water molecules, resulting considerable decrease in their power-conversion efficiency (PCE). This review investigates current status of strategies to enhance UV and humidity stability of PSCs in terms of UV-management and moisture protection, respectively. Furthermore, the multifunctional approach to increase long-term stability as well as performance is discussed as advanced research directions for the commercialization of PSCs.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes towards dementia and to provide basic data for educating about knowledge of dementia and strengthening positive attitudes towards dementia. Methods: This study used a descriptive research design. The subjects were 502 middle and high school students. A questionnaire organized by 16 questions of knowledge and 10 questions of attitudes towards dementia was used. Results: The subjects’ knowledge level of dementia was low, and average score was 8.89±2.95. The questions with low rate of correct answer were “Dementia is caused by several dozens of diseases such as internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, etc.”, “In spite of the dementia, patients can enjoy their favorite things.” The subjects’ average score of attitudes towards dementia was 3.72±0.58. Questions of negative attitudes were “I don`t want to be closed to patients of dementia.”, “I watch information or prevention about dementia in mass communications media.” The relationship between dementia-related knowledge and attitudes showed positive correlation. Conclusion: The result means the mediation is necessary for improving dementia-related knowledge and strengthening positive attitudes in adolescents. The education programs should be proceeded to provide adolescents with correct information about dementia.
혁신 창업가 특징 분석과 과제 - 유니콘기업 사례 중심으로 -

The surge of unicorn companies, unlisted start-ups with a corporate value of more than $1 billion (about 1 trillion won), has led to a craze for unicorn companies worldwide, and the Korean governments announcement of the Second Venture Boom Spread Strategy, which includes the goal of creating 20 unicorn companies. In order to realize this, the K- unicorn project aims to find a promising startup with investment performance or corporate value above a certain level and grow into a unicorn company, which can be said to be a short-term policy centered on the company targeted by the startup itself. The most important element of the 3 elements of a start-up, such as funds, ideas, and people, can be said to be people, and since founders are the key to start-ups, the core of start-up policy also needs to start with the question of How is the talent of start-ups fostered? This is because in the case of unicorn companies, not everyone can start a unicorn company. Therefore, this study was carried out by unicorn companies, which are considered the most successful start-ups, to find the answer to the question, What characteristics are different of their founders from ordinary people?. In order to find answers to these questions, the purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics and careers of unicorn start-ups and come up with measures to foster innovative start-ups, such as founders of unicorn companies, who can eventually be considered representatives of start-ups. In order to achieve this purpose, this study was conducted on three directions, namely the comparison and analysis of domestic start-ups (venture companies, etc.), the analysis of performance factors of unicorn companies, and the study of cases of unicorn companies, and the results are as follows. First, the ability of founders such as academic background, major, and passion and willingness to start a business is important. Second, work and executive experience in related fields, and moreover, experience in starting a business, are also important. Third, it is advantageous to start a business together rather than to start a business alone, and the diversity of the start-up team becomes important, with the joint start-up consisting of a small number of people but securing diversity in majors. If the results of the analysis are aggregated and priorities are taken into consideration, it may be considered important in the order of the founders capabilities > the founders experience ≥ diversity in the composition of the start-up team, and policies aimed at fostering innovative start-ups also need to be implemented by taking these priorities into consideration. The selection and education of excellent start-ups needs to be expanded, and it is intended to propose the introduction of a program for resident entrepreneurs, a new study of state funds for start-ups, and the establishment of a new project to support start-up education for employees. Next, support for the experience of the start-up site is important so that the start-up experience can be accumulated directly and indirectly, and because of this, the establishment of an experience start-up site program and employment incentives for small and medium-sized companies will be proposed. Finally, support to secure the diversity of start-up teams needs to be strengthened, and for this, support for start-ups in the way of entertainment planning, and the establishment of new projects to support start-up clubs will be proposed.
과학기술의 일자리 영향 분석에 기반한 좋은 일자리 창출 전략

The purpose of this study is to comprehensively analyze the impact of science and technology on jobs, and to lay the foundation for future technological developments to lead to the creation of decent jobs. First of all, this paper analyzes the employment impact mechanisms of science and technology, focusing on recent literature analysis, and summarizes the stages and major types of technological development or innovation activities that affect the employment of firms. Second, we analyze key industry cases by type of corporate response strategy to the employment impact of technological development. - Cases focused on improving process efficiency due to digitalization: logistics industry - Examples of business model innovations, such as manufacturing services or entering new businesses: New Space - Collaboration between Humans and Machines: Changes in Healthcare Jobs Third, we analyze the effects of technological development in the domestic labor market and draw policy implications through the analysis of job changes in Korea centered on science and technology profession and the employment impact of corporate R&D investment. Lastly, by analyzing the current status and limitations of Korea’s fourth industrial revolution response policy, we draw implications for policy improvement direction, and suggest strategies and comprehensive policy plans to promote the creation of decent jobs through the development of science and technology.
