Powder type Ag system insert metals were manufactured by mechanical alloying method. Alloying method was the ball milling process using zirconia ball media, and all alloying variables were constant except the milling time. The milling times were selected 24, 48 and 72 hours. The insert metals made by milling method were observed using scanning electron microscope and x-ray analyses. And also, the evaluation of wettability and microstructures of the insert metals were conducted to investigate the characteristics of the brazed joint. The wettability of the insert metals made by milling of 48 hours, was the best condition. And the insert metals contained Cd shows good wettability, however, there was the oxides residue on the brazing test specimen. The microstructures of the manufactured and the commercial insert metals were almost same displaying the Cu- rich proeutectic and Ag-rich eutectic. Further, there were some porosities. The 48 hours alloyed insert metal was exhibited the most sound brazed joint without containing porosity due to the superior wettability and good alloying condition.
N₂분위기에서 Solder 접합부의 젖음성 및 결함특성에 관한 연구

본 실험을 통하여 대기와 N_2분위기에서의 젖음력과 솔더 접합부의 결함특성에 대하여 연구 검토하였다. 모든 시편 조건에서 질소분위기에서의 젖음성이 대기 중에서 젖음성 보다 좋아졌다. 또한 N_2유량이 증가함으로서 젖음 시간은 짧아지고, 젖음력은 증가하였다. N_2분위기에서 브리지(Bridge)발생률이 25∼76%정도로 현저히 감소하였다. N_2분위기에서는 젖음력의 향상으로 솔더 접합부가 안정되었으며 결함 발생률도 현저하게 감소되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. This study was prepared to find out wettability and properties of defects on solder joints in N_2 conditions. The wettability of solder joints in N_2 condition was better than that in atmosphere condition, and when the flow rate of N_2 was increased, it is found that the wetting time got a little bit short and the wetting force got stronger as time passed. Also the rate of bridge defects was specially decreased in N_2 conditions, showing the decreasing ratio of 25∼76%. The solder joints were stabilized and the rate of defects was decreased by cause to increasement of wetting force in N_2 conditions.
전자 비임 용접한 7075 T6 알루미늄 합금의 자연시효

The effect of the heat input (H.I) and natural aging on the mechanical properties and microstructure of the electron beam welded 7075-T6 aluminum alloy has been investigated. This study leads to the following conclusions. 1) The hardness of weldment increased with decreasing H.I. (518.1-1281.8 J/㎜) and increasing natural aging time (5-60 days). 2) The hardness generally increased with distance from the weld metal, though a little decrease in hardness occurred in HAZ(II). 3) The natural aging of the weldment for 100 days raised the tensile strength by about 13% and decreased the absorbed energy by about 35% compared to the 20 day-naturally aged weldment.
