The purpose of this study is to explore plans to develop associated programs between the Daegu National Science Museum and the local industries of the Daegu-Gyeongsangbukdo Province. It is to help the Museum to perform the basic functions of science museums, identify and take on specialty areas, find a financial source and contribute to the local industries. To perform this study, I firstly examined the status and geographical nature of the Museum and analyzed the industrial/science exhibition artefacts. In addition, I found the correlation between science museums and industries by looking into the case studies on overseas industrial/science museums and classified the objectives of industrial/science museums. I also investigated industrial/science museums in Korea and their characteristics as a industrial/science museum. To explore the associated programs between the Museum and the local industries of the Daegu- Gyeongsangbukdo Province, I studied the current status of the region``s manufacturing industry, the industrial development plan by local governments and organizations, and local flagship companies. As a result, I identified four ways for the Museum to work in association with local industries: collection of artefacts; events; education; and sponsorship. The associated programs of the Museum and the region``s industries presented in this study is expected to establish a mid- to long-term direction for development of the Museum.

The purpose of this study is to analyze thecharacteristics of science festival and to seekexperiential attributes of science festival. For thispurpose, we investigated several science festivalsaround the world, classified the type of events, andfound common characteristics of science festivals. We also analyzed science festival events via theattributes of festival presented by several leadingresearchers and then tried to seek the typology ofexperience attributes for the science festival. As a result of this study, We found that sciencefestival had the characteristics to try various fusionsof science and art and cultural commercialization notto stick to science in order to carry out the purposeof the understanding of science and technology byvarious entities. An also we found that the experiential attributesof the science festival were different from those ofthe general festivals based on locality analyzed byleading researchers. So this study proposed fiveexperimental attributes for science festival, scientificattribute, learning attribute, playing attribute, placeattribute, and relationship attribute. This experientialattributes will be expected to play a important rolein planning and evaluating of the science festival.
