The self-discharge behavior of zinc-air batteries is a critical issue induced by corrosion and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) of zinc anode. The corrosion reaction and HER can be controlled by a gelling agent and concentration of potassium hydroxide (KOH) solution. Various concentrations of KOH solution and polyacrylic acid have been used for gel electrolyte. The electrolyte solution is prepared with different concentrations of KOH (6 M, 7 M, 8 M, 9 M). Among studied materials, the cell assembled with 6 M KOH gel electrolyte exhibits the highest specific discharge capacity and poor capacity retention. Whereas, 9 M KOH gel electrolyte shows high capacity retention. However, a large amount of hydrogen gas is evolved with 9 M KOH solution. In general, the increase in concentration is related to ionic conductivity. At concentrations above 7 M, the viscosity increases and the conductivity decreases. As a result, compared to other studied materials, 7 M KOH gel electrolyte is suitable for Zn-air batteries because of its higher capacity retention (92.00 %) and specific discharge capacity (351.80 mAh/g) after 6 hr storage.
필로티 구조물의 화재위험성 분석 및 현장조사에 관한 연구

The fire at the pilotis parking lot shows the fire propagation paths that are propagated to the ceiling materials and insulation materials and propagated through the external walls. In addition, there is a high risk of fire caused by vehicles with high combustion loads spreading throughout the parking lot. In particular, the omission of the ceiling materials at the parking lot in recent fire cases has contributed to the spread of the fire. In this study, the combustion performance of the ceiling materials between the insulation material and the vehicle is considered to prevent fire from spreading. Based on field research, the type of ceiling material used in the piloti structure showed that SMC ceiling materials have the highest percentage. Combustion performance test (KS F ISO 5660-1) was carried out on the SMC ceiling materials and the AL ceiling materials to review the fire safety of the ceiling finish based on the field investigation. The results of the test showed that the SMC ceiling materials has a THR 28.973[MJ/㎡] and peek HRR 273.93 [kW/㎡], while the AL ceiling material has a THR 0.584[MJ/㎡] and peek HRR 15.215[kW/㎡].

실제 화재에서는 구획실마다 모두 다른 화재 성상을 보이지만 국내 기준은 내화시간을 일률적이게 60분으로 적용하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내 내화기준이 화재에 대해 안전성을 갖고 있는지를 확인하기 위하여 구획실의 온도예측을 통해 필요내화시간을 산정하였다. 그 결과 서로 같은 용도로 구분되어 있는 시설일지라도 모두 다른 내화시간을 필요로 하여 위험성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 내화시간 산정 시 사용되는 공식은 복잡하여;이를 간략화한 간이식을 제안했다. In actual fires;the nature of fires varies from compartment to compartment. However;the domestic standard utilizes a uniform fire resistance of 60 min. Therefore;in this study;the required fire time was calculated by predicting the temperature of the compartment to check whether the domestic fire resistance standards are safe. The results show that;even if the facilities are divided into the same use;they all require different fire-resisting times and are at risk. In addition;simple calculations are proposed by recalculating the complex formula required to determine the fire resistance time.

Large fires continue to spread throughout the building, including the fire in Uijeongbu in 2015, the fire in Jecheon in 2017, and the fire in Miryang in 2018. According to the above fire case investigation, major problems were the fire resistance performance of compartment members such as fire doors, the fire spread due to damage to exterior wall openings, and smoke spread through vertical openings. However, in South Korea, only specification design is implemented for buildings that are not subject to performance design. In addition, the analysis of the fire resistance performance standards of building members in the specification design showed that fire doors were not specified in detail for 60 minutes of insulation performance and 60 minutes of fire resistance performance of E/V doors, limiting the prevention of fire spread. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to prepare measures to prevent the spread of fire by presenting simple transplants for calculating the required fire time according to the architectural design conditions for the performance design of the components of the fire room according to the purpose of use of the front of the building.

Smoke and fire spread throughout the building as a result of problems in the fire prevention section of Uijeongbu Apartment Fire in 2015 and Jecheon Sports Center Fire in 2017 in Korea, causing a number of casualties. It is believed that the fire compartment standards need to be reviewed as the fire in recent buildings continues to show problems. In this study, a comparative analysis was conducted on the fire prevention zone standard with Japan to improve the fire compartmente standard in Korea.

In this study, it analyses the problems of the Fire Compartment in Goyang Bus Terminal. Based on analysed data, it is confirmed the necessity of the Smoke Compartment installation for Protecting the Smoke Spread in Large-Scale Buildings using of FDS(Fire Dynamics Simulation). In addition it suggest that the necessity of Smoke Compartment application method and Development of Design Guideline.
바나듐 레독스 흐름 전지용 탄소-고분자 복합 분리판의 개발

팽창 흑연(expanded graphite)과 폴리(플루오르화 비닐리덴)(poly(vinylidene fluoride), PVDF)를 혼합하여 바나듐 레독스 흐름 전지(VRFB)용 분리판을 제작하였다. PVDF를 3 , 6, 9 % 첨가하였고 제작된 분리판의 표면 분석과 5 M 황산에 대한 팽윤율 측정을 시행하였다. PVDF의 함량이 증가할수록 분리판 표면의 크랙과 팽윤율이 감소하였다. 또한 PVDF 첨가량이 6% 이상일 경우 팽윤 정도가 미미했다. 이는 소수성과 내산성을 가진 PVDF가 팽창 흑연의 갈라진 틈 사이를 채워 표면의 크랙을 감소시키고 팽윤을 억제했다고 볼 수 있다. 이 결과를 토대로 6% PVDF가 첨가된 분리판에 대하여 표면 분석, 바나듐 투과도 측정, 내식성 평가, 관통 저항 측정을 수행하였다. PVDF가 첨가된 분리판에 대하여 더 고른 표면이 관찰되었으며 바나듐 투과도가 5배 감소하였다. 또한 팽창 흑연 분리판 대비 향상된 내식성을 나타냈다. PVDF의 첨가로 인해 관통 저항은 소폭 증가하였다. 위의 결과를 고려하였을 때 팽창 흑연-PVDF 복합 분리판은 VRFB에의 적용이 적합할 것으로 판단된다. Composite bipolar plates for vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) were fabricated with the expanded graphite and poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF). Swelling in the 5 M sulfuric acid and surface morphology of the bipolar plates were measured for the PVDF content of 3, 6, and 9%. Swelling ratio and cracks on the surface of the bipolar plates decreased with increase of the PVDF content. Swelling ratio was negligible when PVDF content is over 6%. It is because the hydrophobic and acid resistant PVDF was introduced into porous expanded graphite matrix. Based on this result, vanadium permeability test, corrosion test, through-plane resistance measurement were conducted for the bipolar plate with 6% PVDF. Smooth surface and 5 times reduced vanadium permeability was observed for the PVDF added bipolar plate. And it showed enhanced corrosion resistance and slight increase for through-pane resistance. As these results, it is considered that this composite bipolar plate is suitable for VRFB.

On this Study, it conducts the Standards investigation about air leakage of Buildings for performance improvement of Smoke control in Fire. In domestic standards, it is incomplete the Criteria standards of air leakage. Therefore it is considered that won’t limit the smoke spread due to stack effect. But in the case of the United States, it conducts the Hot smoke air-Leakage test and it consider that can prevent the Smoke Spread in Compartment.

Due to the nature of modern society, buildings are becoming larger and more complex. As a result, the design conditions of the building are changing. However, despite the complexities of buildings, the fire resistance performance is still equalized to one hour without considering fire engineering analysis in Korea, so there is a risk according to actual fire design conditions. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to calculate the required fire resistance time for actual fire through fire mechanics analysis and case study.
