Most rail system related simulations currently used are designed to simulate only one discipline system. This obviously assunes the other discipline system are running regularly not being affected by the system being simulated. In this paper a multi discipline simulator is proposed and its design concept is presented.A multi discipline simulator is the simultor in which major subsystems with different technical discipline are simulated simultaneously. The advantage of the simulator is in that it makes it possible to analyze the systems behavior while other discipline system vary. With this we can identify the possible to analyze the systems ehavior find their solutions. A proto type simulator has bee developed using object oriented programming. Object concept was judged best suitable to model the various multi-discipline self-controlling railway subsystems. It was applied to the target system, which is under development by the Korea Railroad Research institute. The test results show it is very useful in design verification. It could also be a good tool in research and development work to make to improe the system.

This study is in a part of requirements validation plan for korean rubber-tired AGT system on test track. The AGT system is consisted subsystems as vehicle, signalling, communication, power distribution and infrastructure for rubber tire running on track. The subsystems will be installed and integrated on test track till next year for test and evaluation. This paper shows overview for test and evaluation in terms of system requirements and its validation classification, test track configuration, measuring system requirements and its configuration. The whole process of system integration and its validation will be controlled by means of KMS including documentation.

Most surveillance systems of urban transit are based on CCTV(Closed Circuit Television). However, there is limitation that the passive monitoring system using CCTV in urban transit surveillance system to monitor massive environment applies thousands of cameras and it depends on operator's instinctive judgement whether it happens an accident or disaster. Urban transit operation corporations try to introduce the intelligent technology to overcome these problems as mentioned above. The intelligent system can be organized various ways and made configuration for purpose and function. In this paper, we describe the configuration problems of the existing surveillance system and propose the proper intelligent system configuration for urban transit. We expect that the proposed configurations are very helpful to introduce the intelligent technology for urban transit surveillance system.

This paper proposes the method to develop information system for maintenance of urban transit. We have to develop the standard information system, but have difficult to get user"s requirement. To solve this problem, we propose the method, web-based, component-based, and prototype-based development method. Proposed method may provide a procedure to develop information system that have hard to get user"s requirement.
철도차량 획득단계에 적용되는 수명주기비용 모형에 관한 연구

일반적으로 철도차량은 획득비용보다 운영 · 유지보수비용이 높다는 것이 알려져 있다. 운영 · 유지보수비용의 절감을 위해서는 운영 · 유지보수 비용 측면에서 효율적으로 설계된 철도차량을 획득하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 따라서 철도차량의 획득단계에서부터 운영 · 유지보수비용을 포함한 수명주기비용을 고려하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구는 철도차량의 획득단계에서 수명주기비용을 고려하기 위한 절차 및 수명주기비용 모형을 제시한다. It is known that the operation and maintenance cost is generally higher than the acquisition cost of rolling stocks. It is very important for reducing the operation and maintenance cost to acquire the rolling stocks which are well designed with regard to the operation and maintenance cost. Therefore life cycle cost including the operation and maintenance cost is needed to be considered from the acquisition phase. This article presents a procedure and a model for life cycle cost which are applicable to the acquisition of rolling stocks.

With designing alignment of railway for urban rail transit, a greater attention is paid to the riding safety and the comfort of the passengers. Especially, cant, transition curve, minimum curve radius are considered as very important alignment factors for the curve. For the above alignment factors, in this study, comparative studies on the design criteria of foreign rail transit are conducted. And reasonable design criteria of the alignment for urban rail transit are proposed.
