Current research status for imaging neuroinflammation by PET

The aging society is globally one of biggest issue because it is related with various degenerative brain disease such as dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and cerebrovascular disease. These diseases are characterized by misfolded-protein aggregation; another pathological trait is “neuroinflammation”. In physiological state, the resting microglia cells are activated and it removes abnormal synapses and cell membrane debris to maintain the homeostasis. In pathological state, however, microglia undergo morphological change form ‘resting’ to ‘activated amoeboid phenotype’ and the microglia cells are accumulated by neuronal damage, the inflammatory reactions induced nerve metamorphosis with a variety of neurotoxic factors including cytokines, chemokines, and reactive oxygen species. Thus, the activated microglia cell with various receptors (TSPO, COX, CR, P2XR, etc.) was perceived as important biomarkers for imaging the inflammatory progression. In this review, we would like to introduce the current status of the development of radiotracers that can image activated microglia.

We investigated the effects of the irradiation of light-ions on the superconducting $MgB_2$ thin films fabricated by using HPCVD. Deuterium and helium ions were irradiated on $MgB_2$ thin films by various doses, from $1{\times}10^{10}cm^{-2}\;to\;8{\times}10^{15}cm^{-2}$. During these experiments some reasonable results and unpredictable results have been obtained. The reasonable results are that the peak of the reduced maximum pinning force shifts by increasing the pinning sites in $MgB_2$ films and the slightly change of critical current density of films. We obtained some unusual results, which are the increasing of the transition temperature and the change of residual resistance ratio. Among the data of deuterium and helium ion irradiation experiments, the results of helium ion irradiation have most notable points so we will discuss mainly about helium irradiation experiments.
다양한 조건에서의 $Ba_{1-x}K_xFe_2As_2$ 박막 제조

Potassium doped $BaFe_2As_2$ superconducting thin films by using an ex situ pulsed laser deposition technique were fabricated in various conditions to find out an optimal growth condition. Controlled conditions were annealing temperature, annealing time, and mass of potassium. The $Ba_{1-x}K_xFe_2As_2$ thin films which has most good quality is fabricated at a condition of annealing temperature at $700^{\circ}C$, annealing time of 60 minutes, and 0.6 g of potassium lumps. In this condition we were able to fabricate good quality films with high transition temperature of ~ 39 K.

우리 나라의 폐기물매립지는 최근까지 매립당시부터 연탄재와 같은 토사성분을 다량 함유하고 있을 뿐 아니라 분해가능한 폐기물은 매립되어 시간이 경과하면 거의 안정화된 토양으로 환원하게 되므로 장기적으로는 토사의 점유율이 높아지게 된다. 따라서 이러한 매립토사를 선별하여 당면하고 있는 매립부지 확보난 해소와 이용 가능한 물질의 자원화를 위해 재활용하는 방안이 적극 모색되어져야 할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 폐기물매립지로부터 선별된 토사를 이용하여 자연산 복토재 구득 난 해소와 매립부지 자원화와 같은 경제적 측면뿐만 아니라 환경오염의 최소화를 위한 폐기물매립지 복토시스템 개발을 최종 목적으로, 먼저 매립지 굴착토사가 보유하고 있는 침출수중의 중금속 흡착능, 양이온 교환능 등과 같은 환경정화능을 실험적으로 평가하여 매립지 굴착토사의 활용 가능성을 제시하였다. The purpose of this study is to estimate the adsorption capacity of heavy metals with landfill-mined soil, and to assess the possibility of usage as the cover material of new landfill. The heavy metal adsorption capacity of landfill-mined soil was compared with that of the cover material of Kimpo landfill site. From this study, it has been found that landfill-mined soil is better adsorbent than the cover material, and in case of reusing the landfill-mined soil, 52~65% volume reduction of cover material for new landfill site is expected if and only if the geotechnical criteria of design and operaton of sanitary landfill are met.
