Current research is to determine vertebral form and isokinetic muscular strength of Taekwondo players who performed Taekwondo Poomsae and kyorugi exercise for a long period of time. The subjects of the research are 10 Taekwondo Poomsae, kyorugi players whose exercise experience is over 5 years and who have been registered in 2013 Daehan Taekwondo Association and 10 ordinary students of same age in K University, total 30 subjects. Vertebral form is determined with trunk imbalance, pelvis sloping, pelvis angle of torsion, spinal segment rotation angle, scoliosis, thoracic kyphosis, pre, post-lumber by using Formetric Ⅲ, Germany, the 3D image video processor. Extensibility, flexor muscle of body was determined by using CSMi(HUMAC CO., U.S.A), the isokinetic muscular strength measuring machine. As a result, Trunk Imbalance of vertebral form showed significant difference. However, Poomsae group and kyorugi group showed significant difference in Trunk 180° Extension although Poomsae group showed high level of figure in other parts without significance. As a result, kyorugi group has been proved to have vertebral form change caused by repeating laterality training and have lower muscle endurance and therefore, it is concluded that the application of vertebral reinforcement training program is required.
Buckling Strength of Wooden Column with Entasis at the Muryangsugeon in Buseoksa-Temple

In this paper we present the result of investigations pertaining to the buckling strength of Zelkova Serrata (Elm-like) tree column with entasis at the Muryangsujeon in Buseoksa-Temple, Korea. Wooden columns with entasis had been used in the construction of ancient architectural buildings in Korea. It was not known why did they design columns with entasis of the buildings. It is just presumed that the reason may be the compensation of optical illusion, aesthetics, and/or structural safety. The question is not answered even today and it may not be possible to answer clearly and easily. In the paper, the buckling analyses are conducted on both of the wooden column with entasis and the prismatic wooden column by the successive approximations technique and the finite element methods, respectively. The results of analyses are compared and discussed.
