A feature-based inspection planning system for On-Machine Measurement (OMM) is proposed to inspect the complicated mechanical parts efficiently during machining or after machining. The inspection planning consists of Global Inspection Planning (GIP) and Local Inspection Planning (LIP). In the GIP stage of the proposed strategy, the system creates an optimum inspection sequence of the features in a part. In the LIP stage, the system generates inspection parameters such as the suitable number of measuring points, their locations, and the optimum probing paths for each feature. The results are simulated and analyzed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

The target of this paper is the development of Web-based monitoring & control system which is for effective and economic management of mold manufacturing process. This system has three module; G-code Control, Monitoring Module and Result analysis module. Also, as the environment of development is based on internet, this system which is possible to the remote site management of manufacturing process works on Web. To be possible to control the manufacturing monitoring by client, each module is made ActiveX control and is based on socket communication. This system makes the foundation which is possible to manage the mold manufacturing process efficiently from remote site by matching real-time monitoring with manufacturing process in factory using G-code control and displaying the result of manufacturing using Ch-CGI.

Generally, reverse engineering means getting CAD data from unidentified shape using vision or 3D laser scanner system. In this paper, we studied unidentified model by machine vision based reverse engineering system to get information about in-processing model. Recently, vision technology is widely used in current factories, because it could inspect the in-process object easily, quickly, accurately. The following tasks were mainly investigated and implemented. We obtained more precise data by correcting camera's distortion, compensating slit-beam error and revising acquired image. Much more, we made similar curves or surface with B-spline approximation for precision. Until now, there have been many case study of shape recognition. But it was uncompatible to apply to the field, because it had taken too many processing time and has frequent recognition failure. This paper propose recognition algorithm that prevent such errors and give applications to the field.
E-manufacturing을 위한 가공공정 모니터링 시스템 개발

Recently, with the rapid growth of information technology, many studies have been performed to implement web-based manufacturing system. Such technologies are expected to meet the need of many manufacturing industries those want to adopt E-manufacturing system for the construction of globalization, agility, digitalization to cope with the rapid changing market requirements. In this research, a real-time web-based machine tool and machining process monitoring system is developed as a first step for implementing E-manufacturing system. In this system, main spindle motor current and feed current are measured using hall sensors. And the relationship between the cutting force and the spindle motor RMS current at various spindle rotational speed is obtained. Also, a rule-based expert system is developed in order to monitor the machining process effectively. Finally, developed system is applied to real machining process to verify the effectiveness.
