A 12-year-old boy with severe periumbilical pain visited the emergency room. Physical examination, abdominal ultrasonography, colonoscopy and CT, identified a lesion of sigmoid colon. Endoscopic biopsy showed a signet ring cell carcinoma of the sigmoid colon. On explorative laparotomy, cancer invasions of the adjacent structures and metastases on peritoneal wall were noticed. We performed palliative loop-ileostomy. He underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy for 3 months. The second case was a 16-year-old boy with abdominal pain and hematochezia, transferred to our hospital with the diagnosis of acute appendicitis with periappendiceal abscess. Although he underwent appendectomy, the abdominal pain persisted. Digital rectal examination revealed a lumen-obstructing fungating mass in the rectum. Endoscopic biopsy revealed a adenocarcinoma. Cancer invasion of the adjacent structures and metastases involving the mesentery of the small intestine were found at laparotomy. A palliative procedure, a Hartmann's operation and end-colostomy at the sigmoid colon were performed. The patient died 8 month later due to pneumonia and sepsis. Chemotherapy was not applied.

A 3-year-old girl with a primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) and a 6-yearold girl with acute lymphoid leukemia were referred to us because of problems with their implantable central venous ports (Port-A-Cath$^{(R)}$). On physical examination, the ports were upside-down, so a needle could notbe inserted through the membrane of the port. Right lateral side view of the chest radiogram confirmed port inversion in both cases. At operation, the ports were inverted and the transfixing sutures were totally absorbed. The ports were rotated 180 degrees and anchoring sutures placed.

우리나라는 비교적 국토가 협소하고 산악지방이 많아 다른 나라와는 차별화된 풍력발전시스템을 도입할 필요가 있다. 기존의 풍력발전시스템은 저풍속의 경우 발전 효율이 급격히 떨어지며 전원 품질에도 많은 문제점을 내포하고 있었다. 이를 개선하기 위하여 한국의 풍속특성에 적합한 현수형의 채택과 전원품질을 개선할 수 있는 유압모터, 동기발전기를 이용한 풍력발전시스템의 모델을 제시하였다. Our country need to introduce wind force power generation system that country is small and narrow and becomes positioning with the other country because there are many mountainous regions. power generation efficiency of existent wind force power generation system is droping rapidly and connote much problem in country quality in case of a low wind. We proposed wind force power generation system that use oil pressure motor and synchronous motor that can improve choice of suitable suspension style and country quality in Korean methods special quality to improve this.

화석연료의 문제점을 보완하고 있는 태양광발전 시스템은 태양전지 모듈의 온도에 따라 출력량이 급격히 변화하는 특성을 가지고 있다. 이러한 특성을 잘 이해하고 전력생산을 극대화 하기위해 태양전지의 온도를 낮추기 위한 방법을 고려하였다. 본 논문에서는 모듈의 앞면과 뒷면에 똑같은 온도 감소 설비를 한 후 뒷면의 온도를 낮추는 것이 발전량에 더 큰 도움을 준다는 결론을 도출하였다. Photovoltaic system that is overcoming the problem of fossil fuel, changes the output quantity rapidly according to the temperature of module. so, we studied this principle and considered the method making lower the temperature of module for maximization of electric power production. In this thesis, we concluded that, we fit on below and upper direction of the module to decrease at the same temperature. lower temperature of below direction is more useful for the generating quantity.

Nowadays, many configurations and applications of small atmospheric plasma source have been investigated with growing interest, as it provides the bacteria inactivation, the surface modification and removal of unwanted small regions, and so on. In this paper, the non-thermal micro plasma source under atmospheric pressure by means of submicrosecond pulse voltage waveforms is suggested. Plasma operates in helium is appears as a small (sub-nun) glow at the tip of a plasma gun. Electrical measurements show that the plasma source operates at low voltage (about 500V) and the power consumption is about 1W at 25㎑. Moreover, the emission spectrum shows the relatively higher emission intensity of oxygen particles than those of helium and nitrogen.

Purpose: Postoperative adhesion after thyroidectomy results in neck discomfort and swallowing difficulty. However, risk factors for adhesive symptom after thyroidectomy have not been well studied. This study evaluated symptoms related to postoperative adhesion after thyroidectomy. Methods: The Glasgow-Edinburgh Throat Scale (GETS) questionnaire was used to evaluate postoperative adhesion. Patients who completed the GETS questionnaire either pre- or post- operatively were enrolled. Patient clinical and pathological details including age, gender, body weight, body mass index (BMI), tumor size, thyroid volume, extent of thyroidectomy, postoperative months, and neck thickness on ultrasonography and computed tomography (CT) were abstracted. Results: Twenty-eight preoperative (22 females, six males) and 101 postoperative (83 females, 18 males) patients were enrolled. The mean age of the pre-operative enrollees was 52.1±11.7, and of post-operative enrollees 51.8±12.4 years. Patients who were within one month post-surgery had higher GETS scores than preoperative patients (27.4±20.1 vs. 6.5±11.1, P<0.001). Two months after surgery, GETS scores of postoperative patients did not differ significantly from the scores of the preoperative patients. There were no significant associations between clinical and pathologic features (age, tumor size, BMI, neck thickness on ultrasonography and CT) and GETS scores. Conclusion: Postoperative adhesive symptoms were most severe at one month after surgery, while questionnaire scores two months after surgery were comparable with preoperative patients. Further studies will be required for better understanding of the natural course of postoperative adhesion after thyroidectomy.
