The purpose of this study was to investigate the junior college education system of Republic of China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Data were collected by visiting junior colleges in above countries and by reviewing references. The results of the study were summarized as follows; 1. Three countries had diversified educational purposes and functions in terms of junior college education system. 2. Generally, junior colleges of three countries applied Broad based Curriculum Approach, but their curriculum were different according to diploma course or certificate course. 3. Young and adult persons participated in occupational education, general education and leisure-spending education through short course program of junior colleges in above countries. Accordingly, junior colleges of three countries played a important role as a representative educational institution for career education. 4. In appointment of Junior college faculty, career of field experiences was counted as much as academic degree. Field participation of faculty, lecture of resourceful volunteers and indirect aids from associated institutions were actively progressed for improvement of junior college education. It may be concluded that three countries have suitable junior college systems in consideration of their educational environment. Also, they have diversification in operation of curriculum, appointment of faculties and selection of students. Junior college system of each country has merits and demerits. Thus our junior colleges need to select/introduce the merits of other countries which will be suitable and useful for us.
