It is very important to plan the supply of parts through multi-modal transportation in the case of a supply chain that supplies parts domestically and finally produces finished products overseas. This study deals with a dynamic lot sizing problem of multi-modal transportation in this case. A mixed integer programming model is proposed to solve this type of problem. The proposed model is able to deal with various constraints including that some parts may be shipped separately as they cannot be packed together. A simple numerical experiment is proposed to identify the limitations of an existing study and the flexibility of the developed model.

This study deals with a multi-product dynamic lot sizing problem. Different lead-times of multi-modal transportation of a second party logistic(2PL) company are considered. Firstly, a mixed integer programming model is developed to solve this problem. A hybrid genetic algorithm is also developed to find the approximate optimal solution efficiently since these types of problems are NP-hard. A simple numerical example is suggested to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed genetic algorithm.

This study dealt with the case of the system development for the postal logistics network design. The developed system analyze the workload of the mail centers for the long-term changes of mail volumes, and support to design the optimal structure of logistics network and to establish operational alternatives. We develop the simulation model for the entire process of postal logistics from acceptance to delivery of mail. We also present simulation alternatives such as construction of new infrastructure, region control and capacity adjustment.

This study deals with the joint replenishment problem in a supply chain. This problem includes in selecting any suppliers offering different quantity discounts as well as in determining the joint replenishment schedules and the outbound delivery schedules of a warehouse. The objective is to minimize the total relevant cost which is composed of the sum of major and minor ordering costs, inventory holding costs and outbound transportation costs of a warehouse and inventory holding costs of retailers. The mathematical model and the hybrid genetic algorithm are proposed to solve this problem.

Processing mail objects in a mail processing center involves several steps and operations, in particular dispatching as well as sorting by destination. The purpose of this paper is to present a model for the part-time worker staffing and allocation problem as it arises at the parcel sorting area in a mail processing center. The problem is formulated as a mixed integer linear program model to minimize the variable part-time workforce related cost. Not only the characteristics of the sorting operations but also the dispatching requirements of the vehicles are reflected into the model. Six example problems with three different daily amounts of arriving mail are solved with LINGO to demonstrate the effectiveness of the 7-level induction option for the parcel sorting machine over the current 3-level one. The results indicate that measurable savings can be achieved by departing from current practice.
단조산업의 품질비용 관리체계 개발 및 지속적 품질개선 방안에 관한 사례 연구

소재 산업은 공정 기술을 활용하여 최종 제품에 적용되는 부품을 생산하며 완성품의 품질을 결정하는 중요한 기반 산업이다. 그러나 최근 시장 환경이 악화되고 3D 업종으로 인식되어 다른 소재 산업 국가에 비해 경쟁력을 잃어가고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 단조 기업의 특성을 분석하고 품질 비용 범위를 설정하여 해당 산업에 특화된 품질 비용관리 체계 및 지속적 품질 개선 방안에 대한 프로세스를 개발한다. 본 연구를 통해서 단조 산업의 세 가지 특성인 설비의존, 수주 위주, 현장 중심을 발견하고 내부 실패 비용과 외부 실패 비용을 품질 비용 범위로 설정하였다. 대형 단조업체인 A기업에 대해서 개발된 품질 비용 관리 체계와 지속적 품질 개선 프로세스를 적용하여 총 8개의 품질 과제를 발굴하였으며, 개선 활동 결과 전년 대비 약 63.3%의 품질비용 저감을 확인하여 그 실효성을 증명하였다. 본 연구는 단조 기업들이 체계적으로 품질 비용을 관리하고 분석하여 품질 경영전략 방향성을 수립할 수 있도록 도움을 줄 것으로 판단된다. The material industry is an important infrastructure industry that uses process technology in order to produce parts applied to the final product and determine the quality of the finished product. However, the market environment, which has been recognized as a 3D industry, has deteriorated recently and lost competitiveness compared to other material industry countries. This study analyzed the characteristics of forging companies and The study found that three characteristics of the forging industry, facility-oriented, order-based, and field-centered, and internal failure cost and external failure costs were set as the range of quality cost. A total of eight quality tasks were selected by applying the quality cost management system and continuous quality improvement process developed for large-scale A forging company, and improvement activity proved its effectiveness reducing quality costs by 63.3% compared to the previous year. The research helps forging companies establish a quality management strategy by systematically managing and analyzing quality costs.
우편물류 종추적 정보 신뢰성 향상을 위한 프로세스 개선방안 연구

Visibility of the flow of goods is an important service element when considering how to improve the quality of a logistics service. Registered mail service of Korea Post, one of logistics service providers, currently supply information on the handling of postal items, such as receipts and delivery and arrival times to customers. However, internally problems related to excessive spending on operating expenses and less reliable tracking and tracing information exist due to errors in the information acquisition and link handling processes, leading to unnecessarily duplicated tasks. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to propose process optimization method for improving the quality of tracking and tracing information for registered mail items. We analyzed the process and information control system of the current registered mail service and identified the basic causes of the existence of less reliable tracking and tracing information. And we present optimized mail handling and information management process for removing internal problems. Test results using tracking and tracing information examples show a significant performance of the proposed method.
수주기반 중소 제조기업의 신속 대응형 생산정보시스템 개발에 관한 연구

This study deals with a quick response production information system(QR-PIS) which applied to rapid growing small and medium-sized manufacturing companies. Although many kinds of production information system are available, the small and medium-sized companies want the system to operate with minimal personnel. So, we studied the success factors of information system and developed quick response production information system based on these success factors. We also showed that our proposed system made it possible to dramatically improve managerial efficiency including reducing information lead-time with minimal personnel.

This study intends to enhance the quality of pre-installed win-win growth factors in heavy industry and to further facilitate the mutual growth between buyers and suppliers. Specifically, this study identifies the 66 variables of successful execution of win-win growth and measures the levels of both importance and performance in the view of small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs). Finally, this research presents significant factors to improve by IPA matrix. This result is expected to boost the overall competitiveness of SMEs and to reduce the level of polarization between conglomerates and SME’s in heavy industry.
