Recently, it is getting more and more important ensuring the integrity for the equipment degradation according to the increase of nuclear power plant operating period. In many equipment of the nuclear power plant, snubbers mainly installed in reactor coolant pumps, steam generators and piping protected the equipment and piping from the occurrence of transient dynamic loads such as the earthquake, thermal load during the plant operation. This report describes the function, regulation, inspection requirements and management status of the snubbers installed in domestic nuclear power plants.

In this paper, fatigue testing was carried out under the change of aging time(0.5, 1, 5, 10hrs) by electric heating method which is one of the useful method in the application of Robot’s actuator.<br/> Fatigue degradation behaviors such as cyclic deformation property, amount of deformation, decrease in recovery and variation of transformation temperature for each specimen were examined closely, and the effect of aging time condition was studied on their fatigue degradation behaviors.

In SMA(Shape Memory Alloy), the degradation by fatigue is one of the most important problems to be overcome, when SMA is used for robot-actuator materials.<br/> The actuator is operated repetitively for long time and its repeating operation develops the fatigue degradation of SMA. The fatigue degradation changes the transformation temperature and deformation behavior and results in inaccurate operation control of robot.<br/> Accordingly, the changing behavior of transformation temperature and deformation which results from repeating operation is to be investigated in advance and the scheme to resolve those problems have to be made for the design of actuator.<br/> In this paper, for the improvement of the fatigue degradation by repetive movement and better control of the correct movement by the stability of martensite transformation in the developement of Robots actuator, Pre-strain(0, 1.5, 5, 8%) are loaded in the specimens and fatigue testing were carried out by the method of heating and cooling in direct condition. From the results of these experiments, the effects on pre-strain which affect the transformation characteristic and fatigue degradation phenomena were correctly investigated

The capacity factor of nuclear power plant in Korea is the highest level in the world. However, the integrity assessment of nuclear power plant is depended on foreign country. Especially, most eddy current testing systems for inspecting steam generators in nuclear power plant are currently imported from USA, Canada, and so on. Therefore, the eddy current testing system can react more active and adaptive from economic and managerial standpoint for actual nuclear power plants in Korea is required. In this paper, an eddy current testing system for inspecting steam generators in nuclear power plants is introduced. Frequency generator, analog circuit, analog digital converter circuit, and digital control circuit are composed in eddy current testing system. A benchmarking of acquisition system and acquisition software, eddynet 11i made by Zetec, and modifications are carried out based on the test environment of Korea nuclear power plants. Finally, all eddy current apparatus are integrated to inspect steam generator tubes in nuclear power plants.

Recently, the robot actuator worked by the driving recovery-force of the thermo elastic martensitic transformation of shape memory alloys(SMA) has been studied. In general, such a SMA actuator necessitates a number of cyclic repeated motion, so that the investigation of gradual decrease of recovery force with repeated motion cycle as well as the prevention of such a degradation of shape memory effect(SME) are very important for the actual use of a robot actuator.<br/> However, such research and discussions about the degradation of SME are very few up to the present. Therefore, in this study, the characteristics of the cyclic deformation and degradation of SME of Ti-Ni alloy would be investigated and discussed in detail by current heat type fatigue tester, which is a newly designed fatigue tester by author.<br/> In addition, we will establish a new design concept for robot actuator from these result.

The epoxy resin plate and acryl plate (Both thichness:3mm) overlapped are loaded by Pin-Joint. The stress distribution, stress intensity factors and correction factor at crack tip with various demension of the specimen are as follows; 1. When the pin is loaded, the K₁value is increased remarkable in case that length of the crack is above 6mm. 2. Correction factor(F₁) is greatly dependent on the value of a/d, but not on the value of a/w or a/r. 3. When the pin is loaded, K₁value is highly decreased with decrease in crack length because of the compression load developed between pin and specimen. 4. When the pin is loaded correction factor(F) is remakable incresed as the distance of two holes are decreased.

The object of this paper is to make a study of Tommy Wilhelm's quest for identity. In fact, the novel of Seize the Day portrays a single day in the life of Tommy Wilhelm when he is on the point of going bankrupt. Tommy's life is unique in this sense that he had never overcome. All his decision has ended in a sort of fiasco. On the whole, his life consists of series of blunders - blunders which could have been avoided. When Tamkin finally disappears, Tommy Wilhelm enters a funeral ceremony, being pushed by the crowd. Inside the funeral ceremony, the sight of the meditative look on the face of the dead man arrests his movement and he is filled with awe and admiration. Then he bursts out the deluge of tears and he weeps bitterly, thinking about the wretched mess which is his life. Through this identification with the corpse he is wailing intensely. Water as a symbolic means of purification seems to wash as a symbolic means of purification seems to wash the guilt and suffering. Thus the protagonist has a symbolic death, resulting in his metaphysical rebirth.
