In this paper, It does the profile measurement of the cam of diesel engine SOHC of the actual object. It uses the measurement of run-out method. This method is that the surface of the object is measured by the sensor when the object rotate, and calculated and displayed by the computer the signal which acquired by sensor. When we acquire the signals, we have two error because of motion and contacting between cam and probe. In this paper, we compensate the motion error while simply liner equation. And we have a solution that we change the figure of probe when we have a contacting error. We compared the data measuring on developed automatic cam profile measuring system with the data measured on CMM.

The In-Pile Test Section(IPS) installed in HANARO Fuel Test Loop(FTL) is designed as a pressure vessel design conditions of 350℃, 17.5MPa. The instrumentation MI-cables for thermocouples, SPND and LVDT are passed through the sealing plug, which is in the pressure boundary region and is a part of instrumentation feedthrough of MI-cable. In this study, the Mechanical sealing method was considered how to replace brazing method, and performance test results are introduced to the sealing plug of graphite sealant. The performance was verified through the hydrostatic test, and helium leak test.

The purpose of this paper lies in verification the possibility in counterfeit discrimination with excellent confidence as well as easy way of using for the general, as a consequence of a design or manufacture appropriate optical fiber sensor for counterfeit discrimination using wave length of a visible ray zone. The light was altered by lightening optical fiber sensor to particular part of banknotes in order to displacement response of optical fiber sensor. The experiment was processed with data of 100 banknotes on manufacture optical fiber, probe, jig. As a result, It was verified that discriminate counterfeit when the experiment was processing with hologram or CSI on the banknotes with three kinds of color printer.

The purpose of this study is to develop special tools used to extend the tool life for the boom of heavy equipment. The boom of heavy equipment is manufactured by cutting the inner and outer surface with respect to the assembly site essential. In particular, when cutting the inner surface, entry of the tool is difficult owing to the limited size of the inner diameter and non circular cutting. In addition, the productivity is poor because the use of the cutting tool made of the SKH material. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a special tool for machining heavy equipment boom to extend tool life and to improve productivity. The special tool developed this study has the form of a holder and tip. The tip was created by applying a commercially available tungsten carbide insert.

When a new nuclear fuel is developed, an irradiation test needs to be carried out in the research reactor to analyze the performance of the new nuclear fuel. In order to check the performance of a nuclear fuel during the irradiation test in the test loop of a research reactor, sensors need to be attached in and out of the fuel rod and connect them with instrumentation cables to the measuring device located outside of the reactor pool. In particular, to check the temporary temperature change at the center of a nuclear fuel during the irradiation test, a thermocouple should be instrumented at the center of the fuel rod. Therefore, a hole needs to be made at the center of fuel pellet to put in the thermocouple. However, because the hardness and the density of a sintered UO<SUB>2</SUB> pellet are very high, it is difficult to make a small fine hole on a sintered UO2 pellet using a simple drilling machine even though we use a diamond drill bit made by electro deposition. In this study, an automated drilling mach ne using a CVD diamond drill has been developed to make a fine hole in a fuel pellet without changing tools or breakage of workpiece. A sintered alumina (Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>) block which has a higher hardness than a sintered UO<SUB>2</SUB> pellet is used as a test specimen. Then, it is verified that a precise hole can be drilled off without breakage of the drill bit in a short time.

To develop a new nuclear fuel, it needs to make a test fuel rod and carry out burn-up test in the test loop of a research reactor to check the irradiation characteristics of the nuclear fuel. At that time, several sensors such as thermocouples, LVDTs and SPNDs are needed to be attached in and out of the fuel rod and connect them with instrumentation cables. Then, the instrumentation cables deliver the signals measured by the sensors to the measuring device located outside of the reactor pool. In particular, to install a thermocouple in a fuel rod, it needs to drill off holes on the alumina blocks and sintered UO2 pellets. However, because the hardness of a sintered UO2 pellet is 700 Hv (or HRC 61) and that of an alumina block is 1480 Hv, a special drilling machine which adapts a diamond coated drill bit had developed. In this study, several case experiments have been carried out to find an optimal drilling condition of the drilling machine. And, using the optimal drilling condition, minimum numbers of the holes that a drill bit can drill off are verified.

In this paper, we studied of measurement the vibration of natural frequency using optical fiber sensor. The boring bar for measurement of vibration in use optical fiber sensor has the advantage of direct measure for the frequency than accelerometer. Because it deal with output value on electrical signal of optical fiber in physical disturbance when it measures the frequency of vibration. The optical fiber sensor measured the vibration of boring bar by the gap in sensing jig while optical fiber just kept contact with boring bar. A prototype system was composed of jig part with gap and optical system part. In this paper, we found out the possibility to measurement of vibration by the gap in use optical fiber.

The MI(Mineral Insulated) cable is used for instrumentation of the nuclear fuel and material irradiation in the fuel test rig assembly due to its high electrical insulation, heat resistance and mechanical strength. During the installation of the instruments, if the MI cable is damaged by an inadvertent impact, it should be recovered with simple operation because it is difficult to change the sensors (T.C, LVDT and SPND etc.) and MI cables. In this sturdy, a new recovery method of the MI cable has been developed with several tests and verified its validity. Recovery process of the MI cable consists of removal process of the sheath of MI cable, joining process of the signal wires and recovery process of the sheath with a bushing. The validity of the proposed technique has been verified with insulation test.
