Tidal land reclamation provided water resources and land for agriculture and contributed stable crop production. However, climate change by global warming disrupts the hydrologic circulatory system of the earth resulting in sea level rise and more frequent flood for reclaimed arable land. Recently, Suyu reclaimed paddy field in Jindo-gun experienced prolonged inundation after heavy rainfall and there is a growing risk of flood damage. Onsite survey and flood analysis using GATE_Pro model of Korea Rural Corporation were conducted to investigate causes of flooding. To perform the analysis, input data such as inflow hydrograph, the lowest elevation of paddy field, neap tide level, management level of Gunnae estuary lake at the time of the flood were collected. Flood analysis confirmed that current drainage facilities are not enough to prevent 20year return period flood. The result of analysis showed flooding more than 24hours. Therefore, flood mitigation alternatives such as sluice gate expansion, installation drainage pumping station, refill paddy land, and catch canal were studied. Replacing drainage culvert of Suyu dike to sluice gate and installing drainage pumping station at the Gunne lake were identified as an effective flood control measures. Furthermore, TM/TC (SCADA) system and expert for gate management are required for the better management of drainage for estuary dam and flood mitigation.
증례 : 순환기 ; 근위부와 말단부에 완전골절이 같이 동반된 약물 용출성 스텐트 골절 1예

가슴 통증으로 내원한 환자가 급성심근경색으로 진단되어 우 관상동맥 근위부와 좌전 하행동맥 중간부위에 혈관성형술을 시행하였다. 우 관상동맥에는 단순 금속 스텐트를 좌전하행 동맥에는 약물 용출성 스텐트를 삽입하였다. 그 후 환자는 외래로 지속적으로 경과관찰 중 6년 후에 간간히 가슴통증 있어 답차운동부하검사(treadmill test) 시행하였고, 양성소견 보여 추적 관상동맥 조영술을 시행하였다. 추적 관상동맥 조영술에서 좌전 하행동맥에 삽입한 약물 용출성 스텐트가 근위부와 말단부에 완전 골절이 같이 동반되어 3조각으로 골절된 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰 stent boost 영상과 함께 보고한다. A patient came to the hospital with chest pain and was diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction. Coronary angioplasty was performed at the right coronary artery (RCA) and left anterior descending artery (LAD). A bare metal stent (BMS) was inserted in the RCA and a drug eluting stent (DES) was inserted in mid-LAD. The patient was discharged and was followed up as an outpatient without any symptoms. After 6 years, the patient complained of intermittent chest pain. A treadmill test was performed, and the results were positive. Follow-up coronary angiography was performed, and it showed that the DES inserted in mid-LAD had a complete stent fracture at the distal and proximal sites of the stent. Thus, we report a case of complete stent fracture at the proximal and distal sites in one drug eluting stent. (Korean J Med 2011;80:S146-S151)
주암호 외남천 유역 하천수의 질소농도와 동위원소비 분석을 이용한 오염원 평가

In an effort to investigate water pollution characteristics of Juam lake, water samples were collected from three sites (Sites A, B, and C) of Oenam stream which is a typical tributary of rural watershed in the lake and analyzed for N concentration and the corresponding isotope ratio (δ15N) of NO3-. Concentrations of NO3- were not dramatically different among the sites; 0.8±0.2 mg N L-1 (range: 0.0~4.3 mg N L-1) for Site A, 1.1±0.2 mg N L-1 (0.0~4.3 mg N L-1) for Site B, and 1.1±0.1 mg N L-1 (0.1~2.6 mg N L-1) for Site C. Meanwhile, δ15N tended to decrease with river flow; it was highest for Site A (45.5±5.3‰) followed by Site B (19.7±2.0‰) and Site C (8.7±1.5‰). Such high δ15N values of NO3- in Site A suggested that NO3- derived from livestock feedlot (specifically livestock excrete of which δ15N is higher than 10‰) is the predominant pollution sources despite mountainous area occupied the most of land-use in the watershed. Using the two-sources isotope mixing model, it was estimated that the contribution of cropping activities (i.e. fertilization) became greater in down-stream area (Sites B and C) due to the higher agricultural land-use than the up-stream area (Site A). Particularly, during the active cropping season, the low contribution of organic pollution sources indicated that domestic sewage was not the predominant pollution source. Therefore, it was suggested that agricultural sources such as livestock farming and cropping rather than mountainous and residential are the dominant sources of water pollution in the study area. These results could be effectively utilized in elucidating water pollution sources in rural areas and selecting water management practices.
