This paper presents a simple setup method for making teeth models using the three-axis CNC milling machine. Physical teeth models are made by two methods: casting and machining. Since the teeth model is a five-axis machining shape, machining a teeth model using a three-axis CNC milling machine requires several careful setup operations. In this paper a fixing part is designed in the workpiece of the teeth model. The shape of the fixing part is an n-prism, having regular n-polygon ends and rectangular sides. In this study a 12-prism is used, which easily makes 30 degree rotations for finish machining. The proposed setup approach does not require any other special tools for making teeth models using the three-axis CNC milling machine. The results show that the proposed approach is useful for a test making and considering the five-axis machining the teeth models.
