Electron beam evaporation source is widely used to prepare thin films by physical vapor deposition because it is very effective to vaporize materials and there is virtually no limit to vaporize materials including metals and compounds such as oxide. In this study, evaporation characteristics of various metals and compounds from an electron beam evaporation source have been studied. The 180 degree deflection type electron beam evaporation source which has 6-hearth crucibles and is capable of inputting power up to 10 ㎾ was employed for evaporation experiment. 36 materials including metals, oxides and fluorides have been tested and described in terms of optimum crucible liner, evaporation state, stability, and so on. Various crucible liners have been tried to find out the most effective way to vaporize materials. Two types of crucible liners have been employed in this experiment. One is contact type liner, and the other is non-contact type one. It has been tried to give the objective information and the most effective evaporation method on the evaporation of materials from the electron beam evaporation source. It is concluded that the electron beam evaporation source can be used to prepare good quality films by choosing the appropriate crucible liner.

본 연구는 은나노 입자가 항유된 용액을 이용하여 기능성 천연실크를 생산하고자 수행하였다. 1. 은나노 적정농도는 500 ppm 처리구가 은함량, 화용비율 및 견층비율을 종합적인 비교 분석에서 적정농도로 조사되었다. 2. 일반 품종별 은함량 측정에서 흰고치(금옥잠) 품종 대비 연녹고치(C212) 품종이 69% 많았다. 3. 은나노 첨식 처리기간별 조사에서는 5령3일부터 상족전 (18회 급상)까지 첨식한 처리구가 가장 우수 하였다. 4. 실크에 함유된 은나노 입자의 크기는 26.98nm에서 99.81nm임을 주사전자현미경으로 관찰되었다. 5. 그리고, 은나노 입자가 함유된 사료로 사육된 누에의 번데기, 누에고치 추출액과 같은 부산물 내에 기능성 은나노 입차가 균일하게 분포하게 됨을 확인하였다. Silkworm fed on the mulberry leaf mixed with silver nanoparticle to produce silver-nanoparticle embedded cocoon. Comparative analysis of silver content of cocoon shell, percentage of pupation and percentage of cocoon-shell weight showed that the optimum concentration and the feeding period of mulberry leaf mixed with silver nanoparticle were 500 ppm and the period from 3 day 5 instar to mounting of silkworm. The silver content of cocoon was observed variously by silkworm breedings. C2 12 variety makes pale yellow cocoon with the highest silver content (69%). Using the scanning electron microscope, we showed that the size of silver nanoparticles in silk was observed from 26.98 to 99.81 nm. Silver-nanoparticle embedded silk is expected to use as high valuable application owing to the different functional properties including antibiotic characteristics and mechanical and electronic properties. The applicable fields expected is antistatic and/or electronic products with biological degradable natural materials.

This paper reports the development of an electronic starter for fluorescent lamps, which is so smartly designed that can be used directly in existing installations. The key point of the design lies in the protection of lamp filaments by sufficient preheating and at the same time in the control of time constant for start-up circuit. The starter is consisted of three system parts: a rectifier part, a switching part, and a gate control part. The characteristics of the developed electronic starter is compared with those of a conventional glow starter. As a result, blackening of lamps is almost reduced due to the stable and idealized start-up characteristics. And, furthermore, it is shown that its starting time is shortened at about half the level of the conventional one and the starting power is also reduced.
