This study executed a survey for 201 bikers that used the bike paths located in the Seoul and Gyeonggi-do area for the purpose of analyzing the effect of bikers’ consistent use of bike paths on their affection for and contribution to the community. As a result of executing frequency analysis, correlation, and regression analysis to achieve such purpose of study, first, consistent use of bike paths affected their affection for the community. Second, consistent use of bike paths affected all of the sub-factors of contribution to the community, which are mental satisfaction, social exchange, community pride. Third, affection for the community affected mental satisfaction and social exchange among the sub-factors of contribution to the community. However, as the subject of this study was restricted a group of part of the area, it cannot be generalized for all areas. Bike paths which belong to the community should be consistently utilized through a study that can be generalized for wider range of areas and age groups. Various sports programs should be developed to enhance the contribution to the community and affection for the community accordingly.

주관절에 발생한 퇴행성관절염의 수술적 치료

주관절의 퇴행성관절염은 드문 경우로 대개 외상의 병력을 동반하는데 쉽게 굳어버리는 관절의 특성상 치료가 쉽지 않은 경우가 많다. 필자는 심한 주관절 관절염 환자에 시행한 주두와 천공술(Trephination) 관절 성형술과 관절 전치환술의 각각 1례씩을 소개하고자 한다.

수근관 증후군 환자에서 내신경유리술(Endoneurolysis)후 임상적 결과의 고찰

수근관 증후군 환자에서 개방성 감압술 시행시 내신경유리술이 임상적 결과에 미치는 영향에 대해서는 논란의 여지가 많았다. 임상적으로 수근관 증후군으로 진단받은 환자에 대해 단순한 개방성 감압술과 내신경유리술을 병행한 환자들간의 술후 임상적 증상의 호전 및 근전도 검사를 시행한 결과 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 보이지 않았으나 술후 환자의 회복도나 만족도는 내신경유리술을 병행한 환자에서 그 시기가 빠르고 결과도 좋았다 On the Patients of the carpal tunnel syndrome surgically incicated, authors tried internal neurolysis during open decompression of the median nerve. The analytic patients were 14 cases of simple decompression and 11 cases of internal neurolysis and they could be follow up over 6 months from jannuary 1996 to December 1997. The results are as follows. 1.There were no significant difference of symptoms, signs and EMG improved between two groups. 2.The patients with internal neurolysis were satisfactied quickly than simple decompression.

초음파 센서를 이용한 Edge Position Controller (하드웨어)

We have developed a Edge Position Controller (EPC) using a ultrasonic sensor and applied to a fabric machine as a web guide system. Hardware devices composed of a ultrasonic transmitter-receiver sensor module and microprocessor-based sensor signal processing system are developed to realize the proposed system. We evaluated the control characteristics of the EPC and the performance of the system was good enough to apply the actual system.

한국 성인의 요추 및 제1 천추의 형태계측학적 연구

전산화단층촬영과 자기공명영상은 척추관협착증의 진단과 척추체유합술 및 척추경을 통한 나사못 삽입술 등 척추질환의 진단과 치료에 중요한 정보를 제공하고 있다. 저자들은 요천추의 전산화단층촬영과 자기공명영상 100예씩 총 200예를 대상으로 한국 성인의 제1 요추에서부터 제1 천추까지의 척추체, 척추과, 척추경을 조사하여 척추관협착증의 진단, 척추체유합술에 이식골의 크기와 척추경을 통한 나사못의 길이, 나사못의 굵기와 삽입각도 결정에 기본 자료로 활용하려 하였다. Magnetic resonance image(MRI) and computed tomography(CT) provided information for diagnosis of spinal stenosis, and for interbody fusion and instrumentation of transpedicular screw. The author had reviewed the 200 cases of MRI and CT scanning of spine for the measurement of vertebral body canal and pedicle from first lumbar vertebra to first sacral canal. The results were as follows. 1.Anteroposterior, transverse diameter and height of vertebral body increased steadily from first lumbar vertebrar to first sacral vertebra. 2.The narrowest transverse diameter of pedicle was seen at first lumbar vertebra (9.0mm) and the widest at the first sacral(20.4mm). 3.The widest superoinferior diameter of pedicle was seen at first lumbar vertebra (13.1mm) and the narrowest at third lumbar(11.8mm). Above data could be used in diagnosis of spinal stenosis, in decision of the size of bone graft in interbody fusion and length, diameter and insertion of angle of transpedicular screw.

대퇴골 중간부 골절에서의 확공형과 비확공형 골수강내 금속정의 비교

■ Objectives To compare clinical results and bone union time between reamed and unreamed intramedullary nail in femoral mid-shaft fractures. ■ Methods and Materials Between June, 1999 and October, 2000, total 36 cases were evaluated, Reamed nailing was done for 2l cases, unreamed nailing was done for 15 cases. ■ Results 1. According to Winquist-Hansen classification, type Ⅰ was 9 cases, type 2,3,4 were 8,3,1 cases in reamed group, and 7,5,2,1 cases in unreamed group. 2. The mean union time was 18 weeks in reamed group and 17.1 weeks in unreamed group. ■ Conclusions Overall there was no statistically significant difference in the clinical results of treatment of femoral midshaft fracture with reamed nailing and with unreamed except for the higher incidence of pulmonary complication in the reamed nailings in multiple injrury or severe comminuted fracture.

커먼레일을 장착한 대형 디젤엔진에서 디젤과 JP-8의 분무 및 연소특성 평가

An experimental study was performed to assess the effect of diesel and JP-8 aviation fuel on the spray characteristics, performance and emissions in a single cylinder optical diesel engine. Both fuels were injected via an 8-hole solenoid-driven injector in a common-rail injection system. For better understanding of spray development, the macroscopic images were captured with high speed camera, offered evidences for the results of performance and emissions. From macroscopic spray images, the spray tip penetration of JP-8 shorter than that of diesel while spray angle of JP-8 was wider than that of diesel. It indicates that the vaporization of JP-8 is superior to that of diesel. The lower cetane number of JP-8 resulted in increased portion of premixed combustion. The IMEP with JP-8 is lower than that of diesel-fueled engine. Especially, using JP-8 has a potential for reducing soot.

배드민턴 동호회 참가자들의 참여동기 및 재미요인과 여가만족의 관계

이 연구에서는 배드민턴 동호회 참가자들의 참여동기 및 재미요인과 여가만족의 관계를 파악하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 광주지역 배드민턴 동호회 참가자 268명을 대상으로 하였고, 분석방법은 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구의 주요한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 모델 1에서 배드민턴 동호회 참가자들의 인구사회학적 특성이 여가만족에 미치는 영향요인을 분석한 결과 동호회 참여기간, 연령, 성별, 월수입이 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 모델 2에서 인구사회학적 특성과 참여동기가 여가만족에 미치는 영향요인을 분석한 결과 외적동기, 내적동기, 무동기, 동호회 참가기간이 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 모델 3에서 인구사회학적 특성, 참여동기와 재미요인이 여가만족에 미치는 영향요인을 분석한 결과 연습과 혜택, 클럽분위기, 외적동기가 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 배드민턴 동호회 참가자들의 여가만족 수준을 높이고 동기부여를 확장시키기 위한 관련 프로그램 개발과 같은 실천적 개입 방안에 대해 논의하였다. This study aimed to understand the relations of participation motivation, enjoyment factors, and leisure satisfaction of badminton club members. Targeting total 268 badminton club members, the hierarchical regression analysis was conducted. The main results of this study are as follows. First, regarding the model 1, in the results of analyzing the influence factors of demographic characteristics of badminton club members having effects on the leisure satisfaction, the period of club participation, age, sex, and monthly income had statistically significant effects. Second, regarding the model 2, in the results of analyzing the influence factors of demographic characteristics and participation motivation having effects on the leisure satisfaction, the extrinsic motivation, intrinsic motivation, motivation, and period of club participation had statistically significant effects. Third, regarding the model 3, in the results of analyzing the influence factors of demographic characteristics, participation motivation, and enjoyment factors having effects on the leisure satisfaction, the practice & benefit, club atmosphere, and extrinsic motivation had statistically significant effects. Based on such results of this study, the practical intervention measures for increasing the level of leisure satisfaction of badminton club members were discussed.
