Catalytic copolymerization of diethyl dipropargylmalonate (DEDPM) and phenylacetylene (PA) by Mo(CO)6 and (toluene) Mo(CO)3/chloranil has resulted in the expected copolymer consiting of a polyene backbone with five-and/or six-membered rings and th e PPA structure. Both complexes exhibited not only varying degree of catalytic activity depending upon the relative mole ratio of two monomers but also characterize the types of coploymers. The former yields the polyene backbone containing only five-membered rings as well as PA while the latter produces the polymers consisting of both five-and six-membered ring structure. Comparative studies show that Mo(CO)6 exhibits reactivity toward DEDPM alone, thus catalyzing initially metathesis cyclopoly-merization of DEDPM followed by copolymerization with PA while the (toluene)Mo(CO)3/chloranil system shows affinity for both PA and DEDPM.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a prevalent sleep disorder characterized by repetitive episodes of upper airway collapse during sleep, resulting in reduced or completely obstructed airflow despite ongoing breathing efforts. Body Mass Index (BMI) is often considered one of the risk factors for OSA. A study was conducted using computational fluid dynamics to evaluate the correlation between Body Mass Index (BMI) groups and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) groups, and to identify factors that can be used for prediction. Through form factor analysis and dynamic factor analysis, we aim to obtain indicator that can help predict the correlation between OSA group, the normal group and the obese group. When examining the average BMI in the OSA group ,it was found to be 30±2 compared to Group4, while there was a difference of about 7 when compared to Group2. Furthermore, when comparing the Tortuosity and Q values in the OSA group with Group2 and Group4, significant differences were observed. Therefore, BMI, Q, and Tortuosity values could serve as significant indicators for detecting obstructive sleep apnea.
유동해석을 이용한 횡형 압력식 수영장 여과 시스템의 스트레이너 각도 변화에 따른 성능 연구

최근들어 수영장의 수요가 증가하고 있고, 이에 따라 수영장 수질을 유지하는 수영장 여과시스템의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 이 수영장 여과 시스템과 관련하여 여러 선행연구가 있었으나, 시스템 내에서 핵심적인 역할을 하는 스트레이너 각도변화와 관련된 연구는 부족하다. 본 연구에서는 스트레이너 각도변화에 따른 유동특성을 모사할 수 있는 CFD 모델을 구축하여 여과와 역세척시의 성능평가를 통해 수영장 설계 시에 도움이 되는 정보를 제공하고자 한다. 수영장 여과기의 성능에 대하여 연구에 고려된 스트레이너의 각도는 45°, 60°, 75°, 90°이다. 여과시 여과시스템에서 필요로 하는 동력은 model_90°이 가장 적은 것으로 나타났다. 역세척시 스트레이너 내의 저항도 model_90°이 가장 적게 나타났다. 역세척이 수행될 수 있는 필요속도는 모든 모델이 충족하는 것으로 보인다. While there have been various previous studies related to swimming-pool filtration systems, no specific research has been conducted on how the performance is affected by varying the angle of the strainer, which plays a crucial role within the system. This study aimed to construct a computational fluid dynamics model capable of simulating flow characteristics based on changes in the strainer angle. This research had the goal of providing information for swimming-pool filtration-system design based on performance evaluations during filtration and backwashing. Strainer angles of 45°, 60°, 75°, and 90° were considered in this study. The required power for the filtration system was found to be the lowest when the angle was 90°. The potential loss of filtration media during backwashing was also estimated to be the lowest with the 90° model.
당근 종모 형질 관련 EST profiling과 이를 이용한 EST-SSR 및 SNP 마커 개발

Carrot (Daucus carota L. var. sativa) is one of the most widely used crops in the world. Moreover it is an important crop because of its high content of β-carotene, well-known as the precursor of vitamin A carotenoid. However, seed-hair which is generated in epidermal cell of seeds inhibits absorption and germination. For that reason, carrot seeds are commercialized after mechanical hair removal process. To overcome such cumbersome weaknesses, new breeding program for developing hairless-seed carrot cultivar has been needed. Therefore, in this study, cDNA libraries from seeds of short-hair seed phenotype CT-ATR615 OP 666-13line and hairy seed CT-ATR615 OP-CK1-9 line were constructed and expression patterns related to generation of seed-hair were analyzed by comparison of EST sequences. Differential EST sequence results between two lines were classified into FunCat functional categories based on the results of BlastX search. Higher expression quantities belonging to metabolic category were shown on short-hair seed line than hairy-seed one. Differential expression quantities between those two lines in the protein folding and stabilization, subcellular localization categories were supposed to contribute variously on the generation of seed-hair. We confirmed 50 and 59 SSR sites, and 2 SNP sites by analyzing EST sequences in two lines; thereafter, we designed SNP and SSR primer sets from these EST sequence information as a molecular marker. These markers are thought to be used in research of molecular markers for classification of carrot family and related to various traits, as well as seed-hair characteristic.

Carrot is one of the useful crops used abundantly in cooking in Western as well as Asia regions such as China and Korea. However, seed coats have hairs which should be removed to increase germination rate. Furthermore, because of seed hairs, farmers face several additional losses, such as time consumption, manpower, capital and so on, for seed handling. To prevent these problems, study of gene related hair formation using short-hair seed lines is required. We analyzed genes related to hair formation from seed through expressed sequenced tag (EST) profiling, based on the fact that the development of carrot seed hair is related to cellulose synthesis pathway in secondary cell wall synthesis stage. To study the gene expression related to hair formation of the carrot seed, a cDNA library was constructed by using the early maturation stage of the short-hair line (659-1) and hairy seed line (677-14). In short-hair (659-1) and hairy seed (677-14) lines, results from of EST profiling through BLASTX search analysis using the NCBI database showed that 172 and 224 unigenes had significant homology with known protein sequences, whereas 233 and 192 unigenes were not, respectively. All ESTs were grouped into 16 categories according to their putative functions. Twenty nine unigenes among all ESTs were considered to be genes regulating seed hair development from cellulose synthesis pathway during secondary cell wall synthesis stage; in results, 14 unigenes related to seed hair development were found only in hairy seed line.

We developed and tested the high pressure hydrogen gas cylinder(type4) for fuel cell vehicle. The working pressure is 350bar. We conducted material tests, production tests and design qualification tests on the developed cylinders according to modified NGV2-2000(hydrogen). The high pressure hydrogen gas cylinder met all the design qualification requirements of ANSI/CSA NGV2-2000 and acquired NGV2 certification from independent inspection agency.
