This study deals with machining of micro endmilling using a 200㎛ endmill cutting tool that is implemented on a 3-axis micro-stage. The characteristics of AE signals according to tool path radius of curvature are investigated in the micro milling process. The AE signals and machined surface profiles are obtained in various the machining conditions. The signals are acquired from an AE sensor that is attached to the workpiece and are investigated to identify the correlation with the machined surface roughness. It is found that the AE signal is an effective parameter for monitoring the texture of machined surface.

This study deals with machining of micro V-grooves using a single crystal diamond tool that is implemented on a 3-axis micro-stage. A method for monitoring the machining conditions is investigated using acoustic emission(AE) signals in the micro-grooving. The AE signals and machined surface profiles are obtained in various the machining conditions. The signals are acquired from an AE sensor that is attached to the tool holder and are investigated to identify the correlation with the machined surface profiles. It is found that the AE signal is an effective parameter for monitoring the texture of machined surface.

This paper describes a low voltage, low-power CMOS buck DC/DC converter, which has a simple common-gate current sensing circuit. It consumes low power because it includes less transistors than other converters which use operational amplifiers for current sensing. The designed DC-DC converter is fabricated in a 0.18um CMOS technology. A maximum efficiency of 88% has been obtained with the proposed circuit. It has 2V~3.7V input voltage range, 1V~2.5V output voltage range and maximum output current of 1000㎃.

The accuracy of micro-structure features can be determined by the size of burr in micromachining. This study deals with microgooving of micro end-milling using D200μm- end-mill cutting tool that is implemented on a 3-axis micro-stage. The measurement of the cutting force was conducted and the electron microscope(SEM) was used to investigate burr formation. The characteristics of micro-burr are evaluated by microgrooving conditions.

Micro-machining technology has been adopted for shape accuracy of micrometer and sub-micrometer scale, surface roughness of tens nanometer in industries. In micro-machining process most of problems is derived from machining condition and tooling. This paper investigates AE(acoustic emission) signal according to machined surface quality related to machining condition. Machined surface quality was analyzed by the AE parameter which reflects surface morphology. The characteristics of signal was extracted for process optimization by monitoring both the tool condition and the machined surface texture in micro end milling process.
