This study was carried out to evaluate the performance of a inflow controller for the control of combined sewer overflows (CSOs). Because of the inflow controller could be adjusted manually by predicting the maximum amount of peak flow, the mechanical adjustment of this controller was higher than the existing fixed-type controller in field application. Standardizing the relationship between the flow and the clearance and angle of an inlet cover plate on the inflow conditions can selected to the optimum conditions for the on-site. It was concluded that BOD pollutant loading at the region in which inflow controller was installed had shown the removal efficiency rate of 42%.
금강하구호 Sediments 로 부터 수질오염물질 용출특성에 관한 연구

담체를 이용하였을 경우 저부하 유기물 처리시의 처리 특성 및 부착 미생물의 특성에 관하여 연구하였다. 부착미생물중의 사상균의 종류는 초기 Sphaerotilus natans에서 유기물 부하를 감소시킴에 따라 우점종이 Type 021N으로 전이되며 이어 극저부하인 경우 Mierolhrix parvicella 최종적으로 비뀌게 됨을 관찰하였다. 저부하인 경우에도 부착미생물막의 탈리 현상은 발생하지 않았으며 이는 부착미생물들이 생산하는 ECP의 양이 저부하로 갈수록 증가하기 때문인 것으로 생각되었다. 저부하 조건에서도 부착 미생물막의 탈리가 발생하지 않고 안정적으로 유입 유기물을 처리하였기 때문에 유출수의 수질은 양호하였다. 결론적으로 벌킹을 유발할 수 있는 사상균이 Ring-lace 담체 표면의 미생물막의 대부분을 차지함에도 불구하고 고정상 담체를 이용하였을 경우 벌킹 현상을 발견할 수 없었다.

This study was carried out examine per capita demand and forecast water demand until 2031 in Taejon City. These data can be used as the basis for the desgn and maintenance of water supply system. Future water demand including industrial water supply in Taejon City was predicted about 1,488,000m3/day in 2011, about 1,876,000 m3/day in 2021, about 2,275,000m3/day in 2031.

This study was accomplished to investigate P characteristics from sediments seasonally and apply the basic water quality data for industrial water supply in Keum River estuary reservoir. The release amount of TP was about 1,174 mgTP/kg in summer, and NAI-P, which was formed about 43.5% in TP, was appeared higher release portion than other season. In summer, which the temperature is high and DO concentration is low, NAI-P will be release with internal pollution source. it was also found that the portions of PIP(Particulate Inorganic Phosphorus) and POP(Particulate Organic Phosphorus) were about 41.6% and 58.4% in sediments, respectively. Therefore, the amount of P adsorbed to soil particles is larger than the P adsorbed to heavy metal from sediments in Keum River estuary reservoir.
대도시 상수도 불소화사업을 위한 시민여론조사 및 경제성효과에 대한 평가

Recently fluoridation has often been considered as a method to maintain the concentration of fluoride in the drinking water at level adequate to be able to help protect children having decayed teeth. The benefits of fluoridation can be verified to compare the occurance rates of decayed tooth in the areas fluoridated and not fluoridated. Jaingae and Chongju have already fluoridated the drinking water, and it was known that fluoridation could protect tooth-decaying effectively. The reduction rate of decayed teeth was estimated to be about 50~60 per cent. In the present study, a questionary survey to about sixty four hundred inhabitants of Taejon was carried out to grasp the opinions of citizens for fluoridation. According to the results, 75 per cent of the respondents agreed to the fluoridation. About 29 per cent and 44 per cent of them wanted that the fluoridation should be enforced after a questionary survey and after the decision of a specialist group in the institutes concerned respectively. About 71 per cent of them agreed to 5 per cent-rising of water fee for the fluoridation. The anual cost reguired for fluoridation in a large city was estimated to be about 500 won per capital, therefore its economic effect is very large.
금강하구호에서 배수갑문 폐쇄 후 수질변화와 염소이온농도의 예측

This study was carried out to forecast the chloride concentration and to investigate the water quality for industrial water supply after closing the sluice gate in Keum river estuary reservoir. Chloride concentration was dilluted by input flow, depended on outside chlorine mass than inside mass form reservoir body. The forecasting equation for chloride concentration is got Ci=3700·e ?? + 405/ ?? +2.5 without considering input chloride concentration from upstream river. The water quality in intake station for industrial water supply was satisfied for the standard for industrial water supply, but requried the physico-chemical treatment owing to maximum values of turbidity, pH, TS, Fe, Mn were exceed the standard.
금강하구호에서 공업용수공급을 위한 취수원선정 및 수질변화조사연구

This study was investigated to survey and forecast water quality for selection of intake station for industrial water supply in Kumgang estuary reservior. Variation of water quality in reservior was compared with vefore the sluice was closed and after. The best selection of intake station was in wachori, water quality was forecasted less than BOD 6mg/1 (industrial water supply I class) at 2021 year. Cholorophyll-a concentration was less than 5ug/a before the sluice was closed, but it was increased by maximum 60ug/1 suddenly after the sluice was closed. The water quality of river have been changed that of resevior. Because chloride concentration were settled less than about 60mg/1 after about two months the sluice was closed, they will do not matter in use of industrial water supply.
