The effects of the alkali surface modification process on the adhesion strength between electroless-plated Cu and polyimide films were investigated. The polyimide surfaces were effectively modified by alkali surface treatments from the hydrophobic to the hydrophilic states, and it was confirmed by the results of the contact angle measurement. The surface roughness increased by alkali surface treatments and the adhesion strength was proportional to the surface roughness. The adhesion strength of Cu/polyimide interface treated by KOH + EDA (Ethylenediamine) was 874 gf/cm which is better than that treated by KOH and KOH + KMnO4. The results of XPS spectra revealed that the alkali treatment formed oxygen functional groups such as carboxyl and amide groups on the polyimide films which is closely related to the interfacial bonding mechanism between electroless-plated Cu and polyimide films. It could be suggested that the species and contents of functional group on polyimide films, surface roughness and contact angle were related with the adhesion strength of Cu/polyimide in combination.

In this study, the effects of multi-complex agents addition on characteristics of electroless Ni plating solution are investigated. The species and the concentration of complexing agents are major factors to control the deposition rate, P concentration, and surface morphology of plating films. Adipic acid increases the deposition rate in regardless of single- or mutli-complex agent addition. However, lactic acid effectively increases the deposition rate in case of multi-addition as the complex agents with adipic or sodium succinate acid. In addition, sodium citric acid and malic acid show good stabilizing effects of plating solution and lowering the deposition rate, because they have high complexibility. Therefore, it is suggested that the development of Ni-P plating solution suitable for diverse usages can be carried out systematically using the database from this study.
졸겔 법으로 제조한 압전 센서용 PZT 박막의 결정 배향 및 전기적 특성 연구

This study examined the dependency of crystalline orientation and electric properties of sol-gel PZT film on hydrolysis, a PbTiO3 seed layer and a concentration of sol-gel solution. The PZT thin films were prepared by using 2-Methoxyethanol-based sol-gel method and spin-coating on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates. The 1-μm-thick PZT films were coated and then fired in a furnace by direct insert method. The highly (111) oriented PZT film of pure perovskite structure could be obtained. We could control the degree of orientation by various parameters such as hydrolysis, a PbTiO3 seed layer and a concentration of sol-gel solution. The highest measured remanent polarization, dielectric constant and piezoelectric coefficient are 24.16μC/cm2, 2808, and 159 pC/N, respectively.

The effect of the additionally applied electrical current on the adhesion strength between electroless Cu and polyimide films was investigated. Peel tests were performed after applying electrical current within the range from 0.1 to 100 ㎃ for the duration from 1 to 30 minutes. Sample with more than 1 ㎃ of additional electrical current for 1 minute showed higher adhesion strength than that without additional electrical current. However, samples with 10 ㎃ of additional electrical current for more than 10 miniutes showed the degradation of adhesion strength. Ra and RMS values of the peeled polyimide surface were proportional to the adhesion strength though there were no significant changes in the morphology of the peeled surfaces with varied amount and time-length of additional electrical current. Applying electrical current could increase the density of chemical bonding, which results in increase of the adhesion strength between copper and polyimide. However, in the case of applying additional electrical current for excessive amount or time, the degradation of the adhesion strength owing to the formation of copper oxide at the interface could occur.

Excellent active and stable platinum catalyst fuel cells currently being used as a catalyst. However, because of the high price of platinum catalyst, such as non-precious catalyst has been studied by a variety of fuel cell catalysts. In this study, Co/ PANi//CNT composite catalyst after synthesis through various heating process was to increase the activity of the catalyst. At 700℃ showed the best catalytic activity, using a composite catalyst was to be used as cathode electrodes in fuel cell.
Pd 첨가량 및 첨가방법이 알코올 센서용 SnO₂ 반도체 후막 특성에 미치는 영향 연구

In this paper, two methods of making the Pd-added SnO₂ (Pd-SnO₂) powder with pure tetragonal phase by the hydrazine method were suggested and compared in terms of crystal structure, surface morphology, and alcohol gas response. One of the addition methods is to use PdCl₂ as a Pd source, the other is to use Pd-based organic with oleylamine (OAM). When Pd concentration was increased from 0 to 5 wt%, the average grain size of Pd-SnO₂ made with Pd-OAM were decreased from 32 to 12 nm. In the case of using with PdCl2, grain size of the PdCl₂ fell to less than 10 nm. However, agglomerated and extruded surface morphology was observed for the films with Pd addition over 4 wt%. The crack-free Pd-SnO₂ thick films were able to successfully fill the 30 μm gap of patterned Pt electrodes by optimized ink dropping method. Also, the 2 wt% Pd-SnO₂ thick film made with PdCl₂ showed gas responses (Rair/Rgas) of 3.7, 5.7 and 9.0 at alcohol concentrations of 10, 50 and 100 ppm, respectively. On the other hand, the prepared 3 wt% Pd-SnO₂ thick film with Pd-OAM exhibited very excellent responses of 3.4, 6.8 and 12.2 at the equivalent measurement conditions, respectively. The 3 wt% Pd-SnO₂ thick film with Pd-OAM has a specific surface area of 31.39 m²/g.

The pulse electro-deposition processes created the PtCo alloy catalysts directly on the surface of gas diffusion layer (GDL). The PtCo alloy catalysts was well dispersed in GDL. By increasing cobalt contents, the size of PtCo alloy catalysts was decreased, result in the enhancement of ESA. Enhanced performance and durability of platinum might be due to the both of structural change and decrease of particle size of platinum.

Currently, Carbon Black(Vulcan XC-72) is used to Fuel Cell catalysts and has advantageous properties such as high conductivity, oxidation resistance and large surface area, etc., But, it has a surface treatment process cause of low dispersibility in the substrate. In this study, provide functional groups on the surface of Carbon Black by eco-friendly organic acid and fuel cell catalysts were created by dispersed platinum particles. In addition, electrochemical properties of the carbon black-supported were analyzed by CV. Through a variety of temperature and composition of the organic acid, catalyst can improve the dispersion.
