In this study, I discussed a way of the improved operation criteria to detect combustion instability in advance F-Class Gas Turbine, which adopts lean pre-mixed combustion system. The data of 16 blades path temperature thermocouple installed radially at the gas Turbine exit were collected to analyze the variation of individual blade path temperature. The cumulative variation in individual blade path temperature for one week under normal combustion conditions was confirmed to be up to 26℃. On the other hand, in the event of combustion instability, the symptoms of increased temperature variations in the individual thermocouple were mostly seen from a few days ago. Based on the results of this study, it is deemed appropriate to inspect and maintain in Ulsan Thermal Power Gas Turbine when the individual blade path temperature exceeds 50℃ of the cumulative variation for 10 days.

Recently, people's interest in particulate matter (PM) has been increasing, due to its hazardous health effects. The purpose of this study was to investigate the concentrations and as well as the inhaled weight of PM, correlated with person's heart rate in subway, bus, vehicle and bicycle in the major public transportation (Sadang - Jamsil and Nowon - Dongdaemun) in Seoul. The concentration of $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ were measured from each of transportation means and calculated the average concentrations which were 87.2 and $57.8{\mu}g/m^3$ for subway, 62.8 and $42.5{\mu}g/m^3$ for vehicle, 61.5 and $36.8{\mu}g/m^3$ for bus and 53.0 and $29.4{\mu}g/m^3$ for bicycle in $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ respectively. Inhalation dose for $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ were estimated at 248.1 and $139.4{\mu}g$ for bicycle, 56.7 and $39.3{\mu}g$ for vehicle, 49.4 and $29.9{\mu}g$ for bus and 44.3 and $29.1{\mu}g$ for subway, respectively. Even though subway had the highest concentration, the highest inhalation dose was the bicycle. It was due to the long travel time-exposure and breathing rate which leads to maximum of $PM_{10}$ 5.6 and $PM_{2.5}$ with 4.8 times inhalation dose comparing with other modes of transportation. With regards to future studies, the amount of inhalation in each transportation means should be considered in risk assessments of PM.

The one-dimensional flame analysis was carried out to understand the combustion phenomena in porous media. The downstream as well as upstream solution corresponding to upper and lower solutions could be obtained. While upper flame temperature gets higher, lower flame temperature gets lower, as the flame approaches the central part of the combustor. The reason why upstream flame and downstream flame exist at the same flow condition is that the regions where net heat recirculation is identical exist in upstream and downstream of the combustor. In order for the downstream flame to be stabilized, more heats needed to be recirculated towards upstream because of larger radiation loss of downstream flame.

Combustion stability is one of the most important factors that must be considered in burning of heavy fuel oil, especially low-grade oil. This paper describes the combustion characteristics of petrochemical process by- product in the combustion furnace of heavy fuel oil. Main experimental parameters were combustion load, excess 02, fuel preheating temperature and air/fuel ratio. The capacity of CRF(combustion research facility) used in this study was 1.0 ton/hr and the burner is steam jet type suitable far heavy oil combustion and manufactured by UNIGAS in Italy. The fuel used in this experiment were 0.5 B-C, petrochemical process by-product and 3 kinds of 0.5 B-C/process by-product mixtures. The combustion stability was monitored and exhaust gases such as CO, NOx, SOx and particulates were measured with the excess $O_2$ and combustion load. The main purpose of this study is to clarify whether process by-product can be used as a boiler fuel or not in consideration of flame stability and emission properties.
