Of school buildings, university building requires various case analysis unlike buildings in the elementary, middle and high schools in accordance with its characteristic for variables such as characteristic of department,construction structureand material, the number of persons admitted and schedule.Through the case research on the ‘D’university located in Daejeon,this study made a comparison on the monthly and yearly consumption of gas and electricity of the most recent 3 years and implemented analysis on the usage pattern and standby power of air conditioning and heating by the hour and month using PCCS(Power Consumption Consulting System) as respects electricity that is considered to have a possibility of energy-saving. The result of analysis showed that enormous amount of electric power was used during the night time for freeze protection and burst in winter season and standby power was increased in winter season as a result.

In this study, energy performance analysis of houses in zero energy demonstration town(ZeT) was carried out using the monitoring results. This ZeT was composed 29 zero energy individual houses(ZeH) which were applied passive as well as active technologies. The results are as follows. (1) Residents are generally considered to have been lacking basic mind to save energy, (2) In particular, average yearly total energy consumption per house is 12,834 kWh and specific heating energy is 53.2kWH/㎡·yr which is higher than that of passive house. This is because of one of the reason just pointed out in subsections (1). (3) Most part of the residual energy load are supplied with only renewable energy, but not operating energy for geothermal heat pump which is use of cheap electricity.

To fulfill the demands concerning energy efficiency for zero energy buildings, various technologies of architects and engineers are required. This study aims to estimate the thermal performance of heat source equipment in which part load characteristics are considered in an office building. Overestimation of heat source equipment was reviewed through literature survey, and heating and cooling loads depending on the capacity and division of the equipment were analyzed through a simulation program (DOE-2.1E). The conclusions gained from this study are as follows; 1) The more the division of equipment, the less the heating and cooling energy consumption. 2) When a large item of equipment is divided into two small items of equipment, the optimum application rate showed as 5:5 for chiller, and 7:3 for boiler, respectively.

This study investigated the total energy consumption and the energy consumption by type of 31 apartment complexes in Daejeon. The energy is supplied to the apartments from district heating, and can be divided into hot water, electricity, and gas. Hot water is used in for space heating and for domestic hot water (DHW), and electricity is used for plugs, cooling, ventilation, and public utilities (street lights, pumps, elevators, etc.). All gas supplied from district heating is used for cooking. As a result, the consumption unit of each energy source of independent dwelling areas was calculated to be 103.7 kWh/㎡?a (15,692 kWh/H?a) for thermal energy, 48.0 kWh/㎡?a (4,646 kWh/H?a) for electricity, and 10.5 kWh/㎡?a (1,015 kWh/H?a) for gas, so the entire consumption was calculated to be 162.3 kWh/㎡?a (15,692 kWh/H?a).

Serpentine PV/T (Photovoltaic/Thermal) hybrid solar collector is a co-generation system that produces electricity and heat using one collector. In this study, we analyzed the thermal-electrical performance by theoretical analysis and experiment. The serpentine absorber whose solar circuit comprises one whole pipe without connection, is simpler in its composition than the header-riser absorber and also has low flow rate, making it possible to improve thermal stratification in the water tanks. Especially when the absorber is laminated with solar cell through a thin adhesive layer of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), the thermal resistance is minimized and the manufacturing process can be automatized. Zhang and Lavan’s analytical model was introduced to determine the heat removal factor of serpentine absorber, and iterative method was used to obtain these solutions linked to the solar cell power generation analysis. To verify the validity of the theoretical analysis, the thermal performance of PV/T collector was tested in accordance with KS standards (KS B 8295). As a result, the numerical results agreed well with the experimental data.

Energy consumption unit in a building is classified according to uses of electricity, gas, and oil, and it has been studied steadily as a material for establishing policy standards for energy saving in buildings. Meanwhile, consumption unit in apartment house can be calculated differently according to its survey method and area standard. Therefore, with the necessity of reestablishing energy consumption unit, this study has researched thermal energy consumption, Supply dwelling area? Exclusive dwelling area, completion year and housing type of 23,791 households of 31 complex in Daejeon. As a result, (1) there was about 20% difference between supply and exclusive dwelling areas. (2) On the basis of exclusive dwelling area, thermal energy consumption unit was calculated as 104.9 kWh/m²?a in 2010, 104.6 kWh/ m²?a in 2011, and 107.7 kWh/m²?a in 2012.
