        영어와 한국어의 현재진행상 용법 비교연구

        This study aims to examine the different usages of Korean and English present progressive aspect based upon corpus linguistics. There are three research questions in the present study: First, how often does the present progressive aspect appear in each Korean and English corpus? Second, how are the distributions of five categories--(1) activity in progress, (2) extended present, (3) repetition, (4) express future, and (5) a change in progress--in each Korean and English corpus?, and third, what are the characteristics of these distributions of the five categories in each Korean and English corpus? To figure out these research questions, Sejong mal-mung-chi for Korean and BROWN Corpus for English were used. The results showed that considerable differences existed between Korean and English present progressive aspect in terms of its quality as well as quantity. The number of tokens in English corpus was three times more than that in Korean corpus. And the distribution of the categories of English corpus was (1)-(2)-(5)-(4)-(3) with a relatively small difference between categories (1) and (2), while that of Korean corpus was (2)-(1)-(5)-(4)-(3) with a prominent dominance of category (2). The findings of this study can have pedagogical implications on the practical teaching method for Korean EFL (English as a Foreign Language) learners to learn English present progressive aspect in more systematic way.

        개념 디자인에서의 AI의 활용에 관한 연구

        1940년대에 이미 머신러닝(ml)이 개발되었지만 계산능력 및 데이터 부족으로 응용가치는 낮았다. 그 이후 컴퓨터 기술의 발전과 데이터의 축적을 기반으로 하여, 인공지능 특히 머신러닝은 디자인 분야에서 인사이트를 제공하는 도구로서 학제적 주목을 받고 있다. 최근에 인공지능을 활용한 이미지 생성에 관한 선행연구가 쏟아져 나오고 있는 것도 그러한 관심의 일환이다. 그런데 실무적으로는 머신러닝으로 생성하는 이미지는 다양하나 이미지의 해상도 등이 디자이너의 요구를 충족하기에는 부족한 점, 독창적인 이미지를 제공하는 데에는 부족한 점 등이 지적되고 있다. 선행연구의 관점이 목적론적으로 편향되고 있지는 않은지 살펴 볼 필요가 있는 대목이다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 학제적 논의와 현실의 실무 사이의 간극은 어떠한지, 그러한 간극을 해소하고 인공지능을 활용한 이미지 생성을 실무에 안착할 수 있는 계기를 모색하고자 한다. 본 연구는 머신러닝(ml)의 생성적 대립신경망(GAN)에 관한 문헌조사를 기초로 하여 실제 생성되는 이미지가 제품 디자이너 입장에서 수용될 수준인지를 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 소비자의 태도 등을 텍스트 마이닝 방법을 통하여 군집, 정보추출, 감성분석을 하기로 한다. 그를 통하여 제품 디자인에서의 인공지능의 활용 가능성에 대하여 학제적 입장이 아닌 소비자 내지 실무가의 입장을 탐색하였다. Machine learning(ml) was already developed in the 1940s, but its application value was low due to limited computational power and lack of data. Since then, based on advancements in computer technology and data accumulation, artificial intelligence, particularly machine learning, has gained interdisciplinary attention as a tool for providing insights in the field of design. Recently, numerous prior studies on image generation using artificial intelligence have emerged, reflecting this growing interest. However, from a practical standpoint, there are several criticisms: the images generated by machine learning often lack the resolution required by designers, and they fall short in providing original images. It is worth examining whether the perspectives of these prior studies are becoming teleologically biased. Therefore, this study aims to explore the gap between interdisciplinary discussions and practical applications, seeking to bridge this gap and integrate AI-generated image creation into practical use. This research is based on a literature review of Generative Adversarial Networks(GANs) in machine learning(ml), examining whether the images generated are acceptable from the perspective of product designers. Based on this, we will use text mining methods to perform clustering, information extraction, and sentiment analysis to understand consumer attitudes. Through this approach, we aim to explore the potential use of AI in product design from the standpoint of consumers and practitioners rather than an interdisciplinary perspective.

        TEE 비인증 교사들의 TEE 인증제에 관한 인식

        This study examines how teachers, who have not participated in the Teaching English in English (TEE) certificate program, perceive that program. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with 18 secondary English teachers in Seoul and was analyzed using conventional content analysis. The findings indicate that the teachers were unwilling to participate in the program for three reasons. First, they found the assessment procedure too complex and burdensome. Second, the program excessively emphasized English-speaking ability, which contradicted their own teaching philosophies. Third, they believed that the program did not lead to change in teaching practices and was useful only for obtaining the certificate. The voices of these resistant teachers are significantly incongruent with the government-driven macro language planning and policy represented by the program. The findings of this study suggest some practical and classroom-based policy modifications from the micro language planning and policy perspective.

        초임 영어교사들의 ‘교사되기’: 그들이 겪는 어려움과 극복방안을 중심으로

        This study aims to delve into the stressors and coping strategies of rookie teachers in their first year of teaching experience. Thirteen teachers were interviewed twice in-depthly, and the collected data was transcribed and analyzed using summative content analysis and critical incident analysis. The findings showed that the teachers’ stressors could be categorized into two types: teaching-related and non-teaching-related. As for the former, the teachers mentioned that they had a hard time teaching the students who have different English proficiency levels in the same classroom, adjusting themselves to grammar-translation-based teaching, and coming up with appropriate questions for tests. As for the latter, the teachers complained that it was difficult to position themselves in the pre-existing community of in-service teachers, to deal with an abundant of administrative work, and to discipline the students. Although they had various types of stressors as rookie teachers, it turned out that they did not have effective coping strategies to relieve their stress. The teachers used very passive methods such as “talking to their friends, family, or other rookie teachers,” “observing other teachers,” or “enduring the situation.

        대학 내 영어전용공간 운용에 관한 사례연구

        This Study aims to delineate the actual use of English-only zone called "English Cafe" at a major university in Seoul. Questionnaires with 86 students, focus-group interviews with 41 students, researcher's observation on students' classroom participation, and her teaching journal were analyzed. The results showed that students wanted to use "English Cafe" as a place for studying English holistically. In accordance with their needs, five different study groups were organized and operated by students with the help from the professor and students' public speech was also given once a month on average. By and large, students who participated in these programs were very satisfied with the program. However, considering the professor's working overload and the necessity of sustainable financial support, this kind of program should be carefully examined before the start. The findings of this study are expected to improve the quality of English education in "out of classroom" contexts in a more practical way.

        Two analog predsitorters (PDs) using the mixing operation are proposed to compensate for the memory effects of the power amplifier and then significantly cancel IM3 components with the independent control of IM3 terms. In the first PD, IM3 terms are generated by using mixing operation of low frequency terms. In the second PD, the double mixing operation of the fundamental components is used. For a two-tone signal with 20-㎒ tone spacing, the notable IM3 suppression is achieved over a whole output power range.

        대학에서 언어학을 어떻게 가르칠 것인가: 융복합교육적 접근

        The primary aim of this paper is to explore several ways to teach linguistics courses in college so that they can help students prepare for living in the 21st century of globalization. Showing why students will need the so-called “21st century competencies” including critical literacy, it presents yungbokhap education as a viable option. On the basis of these backgrounds, it discusses results from two cases of teaching English Syntax in a college of education and suggests potential ways to modify a curriculum for linguistics education including Introduction to English Linguistics so that it can trigger students` 21st century competencies more directly. This paper suggests that by incorporating 21st century competencies as additional objectives of linguistics courses, we can re-establish the “realistic” foundation for linguistics courses in college curricula.
