Numerical simulation technique is developed to analyse and predict the characteristics of damping force of automotive shock absorber accurately and effectively. And the flow resistance characteristics of damping valve components are examined to construct a dynamic damper model of suspension unit. Numerical results for thc characteristics of damping force agree with test data well. It is Shown that shock absorber performance can be simulated accurately without physical testing. Thc unique and accurate flow resistance models of valve components arc obtained. They can be used in constructing a dynamic damper model and determining the size of valve components.<br/>
반능동형 충격흡수기의 연속가변 감쇠특성에 대한 CFD 해석

Recently, a semi-active shock absorber has been taking interest because of its low cost and simple structure than the active one, CFD analysis has been conducted to investigate the continuous and variable damping characteristics of the semi-active shock absorber. Also, the flow resistance characteristics of a spool valve has been examined to identify individual parameters(namely, exponent and discharge coefficient) of pressure-flow rate relation needed for the accurate valve modeling, The flow field in the damping valve was simulated using the commercial code, CFX-5.3. The numerical results showed reasonable agreement with the experimental outputs. The pressure distribution with the variation of spool opening length and volume flow rate were discussed in detail. And the continuous and variable damping performance was found clearly. The individual parameters of spool valve were obtained as a function of orifice area, The exponent and discharge coefficient were fitted in with the first and the third polynomial respectively.

A numerical analysis on three dimensional turbulent incompressible flows through linear cascades of turbine rotor blades with high turning angles has been performed by using a generalized k-.epsilon. model which is a high Reynolds number form and derived by RNG(renormalized group) method to account for the variation of the rate of strain. A second order upwind scheme is used to suppress numerical diffusion in approximating the convective terms. Body-fitted coordinates are adopted to represent the complex blade geometry accurately. For the case without tip clearance, velocity vectors and static pressure contours are shown to be in good agreement with previous experimental results. For the case with tip clearance, the effects of the passage vortex and tip clearance flow on the total pressure loss as well as their interactions are discussed.
토끼 안점막자극 대체시험법으로서의 HET-CAM assay 소개

The hen`s egg test-chorioallantoic membrane(HET-CAM) assay, which employs the vascular membrane of a fertile hen`s egg, has been actively studied by several countries as an alternative method to the Draize rabbit eye irritation test. There are two methods to evaluate the eye irritation potential, reaction time method(RTM) and end point assessment(EPA), between which can be chosen as the apt method depending on the characteristics of test material. In this study, we employed the EPA method to compare with the Draize rabbit eye irritation test method and then calculated the Pearson correlation coefficient value. The Result of Pearson correlation was high(0.986, p=0.002) with 5 test materials: 3 raw materials(IPMS 03, VCP-IS-2Na, Seletinoid: Amorepacific R&D center, Korea), 1 commercial cleansing form(Amorepacific R&D center, Korea) and 1 surfactant (Amisoft LS-11, Ajinomoto, Japan). According to these results, we suppose that the HET-CAM assay is a good method to replace the Draize eye irritation test as the tests of 5 materials have proven. Despite our results, additional studies with more materials are necessary to validate this method as an alternative to the Draize rabbit eye irritation test method.

In order to evaluate the mutagenic potential of erythropoietin (EPO), Salmonella typhimurium reversion assay, chromosomal aberration test on chinese hamster lung cells and in vivo micronucleus assay using mouse bone marrow cells were performed. In the reverse mutation test using Salmonella typhimurium TA98, TA100, TA1535, TA1537, TA102 did not increase the number of revertant at any of the concentration tested in this study. EPO did not increase the number of cells having structural or numerical chromosome aberration in cytogenetic test. In mouse micronucleus test, no significant increase in the occurrence of micro nucleated polychromatic erythrocytes was observed in ICR male mice intraperitoneally administered with EPO. These results indicate that EPO has no mutagenic effects under these experimental conditions.
자동차 Shock Absorber의 감쇠특성에 대한 수치해석

Also, the flow resistance characteristics of damping valve components are examined to construct a accurate dynamic damper model of t suspension unit. Numerical results for the characteristics of damping force agree with test data well. It is shown that shock absorber performance can be simulated accurately without physical testing. The unique and accurate flow resistance models of valve components are obtained. They can be used in constructing a dynamic damper model and determining the size of valve components instead of a traditional sharp orifice model.
