Vol.2011 No.10

A Vol.20 No.12

Compression behavior of semi-solid aluminum alloys with controlled solid fractions was investigated in the present study. The stress and strain relationships were obtained from the compression test. Variations of the solid fraction distribution and the material behaviour were investigated for various friction coeffieiants and die speedsd. For a finite element analysis, the semi-solid material was described by a compressible regid viscoplastic model for the solid region and darcy's law for the liquid region. The computed results were compared with experimental data for the validity of the yield criteria.

A Vol.20 No.3

A fabrication process using Semi-Solid Material(SSM) for casting alloy has been studied to demonstrate the possibility for mass production with controlled solid fraction. The SSM was fabricated under the various solid fractions and preheating temperatures of mold. The behaviour of a semi-solid global microstructure has been investigated under the various heating and die temperatures for solid fraction. The effect of reheating time on the globularization of SSM microstructure has been investigated in detail. And the behavior of SSM which has the solid fraction 0.5 was observed under compression. The stress strain relationship was also obtained for the compression test of semi-solid materials. The rheological behaviour of semi-solid with globule microstructure was investigated as a function of the compression velocity under isothermal holing conditions.

Reaction of Lithium Gallium Hydride with Selected Organic Compounds Containing Representative Functional Groups

Choe, Jeong Hun,Yun, Mun Yeong,Yun, Jong Hun,Jeong, Dong Won Korean Chemical Society 1995 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.16 No.5

The approximate rates and stoichiometry of the reaction of excess lithium gallium hydride with selected organic compounds containing representative functional groups were examined under the standard conditions (diethyl ether, 0 $^{\circ}C)$ in order to compare its reducing characteristics with lithium aluminum hydride and lithium borohydride previously reported, and enlarge the scope of its applicability as a reducing agent. Alcohols, phenol, and amines evolve hydrogen rapidly and quantitatively. However lithium gallium hydride reacts with only one active hydrogen of primary amine. Aldehydes and ketones of diverse structure are rapidly reduced to the corresponding alcohols. Conjugated aldehyde and ketone such as cinnamaldehyde and methyl vinyl ketone are rapidly reduced to the corresponding saturated alcohols. p-Benzoquinone is mainly reduces to hydroquinone. Caproic acid and benzoic acid liberate hydrogen rapidly and quantitatively, but reduction proceeds slowly. The acid chlorides and esters tested are all rapidly reduced to the corresponding alcohols. Alkyl halides and epoxides are reduced rapidly with an uptake of 1 equiv of hydride. Styrene oxide is reduced to give 1-phenylethanol quantitatively. Primary amides are reduced slowly. Benzonitrile consumes 2.0 equiv of hydride rapidly, whereas capronitrile is reduced slowly. Nitro compounds consumed 2.9 equiv of hydride, of which 1.9 equiv is for reduction, whereas azobenzene, and azoxybenzene are inert toward this reagent. Cyclohexanone oxime is reduced consuming 2.0 equiv of hydride for reduction at a moderate rate. Pyridine is inert toward this reagent. Disulfides and sulfoxides are reduced slowly, whereas sulfide, sulfone, and sulfonate are inert under these reaction conditions. Sulfonic acid evolves 1 equiv of hydrogen instantly, but reduction is not proceeded.

Vol.35 No.2

Person characteristics and the perception of organization climate affect on the performances associated with causes of job stress, and may induce various types of human errors. For incidence, a person’s adaptation to organizational traits can influence on a person’s performance with tasks assigned as well as job satisfaction, a change of occupation, etc. There are several evaluation methods such as an aptitude test to evaluate the suitability of department allocation. However, only person’s traits such as an aptitude has been associated with department allocation and job assignment for the personnel management. This paper shows not only an evaluation result on the job-stress of the workers in nuclear power plants (NPPs), but also the relationships between the job-stress and the coincidences of group-personal, team-personal traits. Then, we systematically deduct a basic information on the factors to be considered to manage the organizational traits and job stress. We expect this result can contribute to enhance the organizational management against to the human errors as well as for the promotion of safety and efficiency of NPPs.

Vol.27 No.3

Though there might exist not a few differences between cyclic works and atypical works, many researchers have applied the same assessment techniques that used for repetitive works, which may result introduce bias in their conclusions. This research aimed to verify whether there exist non-negligible work characteristics and/or dissimilarity among works with different work nature and whether one of the most prevalent assessment techniques for assessing ergonomic hazards of musculoskeletal disorders, REBA, can be applied to atypical works. For a general hospital, an automobile repair shop, and two auto-part assembly plants which manufactures quite different parts, a questionnaire survey and field investigation and ergonomic assessment were carried out and analyzed statistically with reference to the 3rd Quantification technique. The results showed that there exist remarkable difference between physical factors in cyclic works and atypical non-cyclic works. As for repetitive work, body posture was significant factors affecting on musculoskeletal disorders while atypical works seemed to have none which implied that the necessity of taking psychosocial factors into account for assessment of hazards. Complain rate in repetitive works was highest shoulder, back, and neck or wrist in sequence. However, there existed no consistent trend in complain rate in atypical works. And, though weight of manufacturing objects was a common factor that can partly explain musculoskeletal complain, time duration was significant in atypical work whereas repeatability and body posture were significant in repetitive works. As being the results, to summarize, it could be said that application of conventional ergonomic assessment techniques regardless of repetitiveness would be fruitless, and that the necessity of a unique methodology focused on atypical non-cyclic works should not be neglected

Human error has been considered as one of the primary causes of many incidents and accidents in nuclear industry. Especially, communication problem among operating crew members the main control room of nuclear power plants may drastically increase the accident potential. Because various defects in the communication process may also cause unexpected behavior and result into an undesirable error as a consequence, so the methods, routes, tools, and contents of the communication among have been to analyze in order to prevent these accidents. In the nuclear industry, there are fairly little effort and few researches on the communication behavior and the assessment method according to the type of operators in MCR, although several studies have been conducted on the types of communication errors. The purpose of this study is to find out the basic characteristics of the communication among operators in MCR, and to assess the communication types and their efficiencies. This study can offer a starting point for preparing a proposal against the human errors in nuclear power plants, as well as for preventing human errors and their potential related to communication in other industry fields.

Il Jang),이용희(Yonghee Lee),오연주(Yeon Ju Oh),강석호(Seok Ho Kang),윤종훈(Jong Hun Yun) 대한인간공학회 2011 大韓人間工學會誌 Vol.30 No.1

This paper describes several current research activities and the field techniques for the prevention of human errors during the operation of nuclear power plants(NPPs). The human aspects such as 'fitness for the duties', 'job competence and suitability', 'types of communication', 'behaviors of field workers', 'teamwork of main control room crews', 'task procedures', etc. have been investigated for improving the performance of operating personnel in NPPs. We decide to develop a set of the complementary techniques for the reduction of human errors. The set of techniques developed includes teamwork criteria, jobs fitness analysis, procedure enhancement guide, 3-way communication, campaign posters, a behavior based safety program, a procedure guideline, and a task hazard identification method for the field practitioners in NPPs. These can offer a set of significant human error countermeasures to be considered for analyzing and reducing human error in NPPs as well as other fields of industry.
