345[kV] 100[MVA] STATCOM 과도해석 모델 개발 및 동특성 분석

This paper describes the development of the transient analysis model of 345[kV] 100[MVA] STATCOM and the result of the performance analysis. The Korea power utility company, KEPCO began a commercial operation of a 100[MVA] STATCOM(Static synchronous COMpensator) at 345[kV] Migeum substation in Seoul. In order to operate a new control device like STATCOM to the power system, suitable transient model is needed. Therfore, Korea Electric Power Coporation(KEPCO) developed a transient analysis models using EMTDC/PSCAD. The development of this transient analysis model is based on the actual STATCOM S/W algorithm and H/W specification that was provided by its manufacture. Through this model, the transient/dynamic performance of STATCOM at Migeum substation can be analyzed.

This paper provides the methods for enhancing the stability with normal or emergency operating conditions in real power systems and copes with the unbalance of demand of reactive power due to the loss of facility, such as 765㎸ transmission line. In this paper, we focused on the maximum allowable transmission power(hereafter, MAXTP) in the metropolitan area. In order to increase the MAXTP, the application of reactive power compensators, SVC, and Shunt compensator and reactor, is analyzed as an enhancing method of stability and MAXTP. Particularly, the f-V analysis was performed for the postulated contingency, in order to evaluate the effects on SVC. Conclusively, the stability of power systems could be enhanced and the MAXTP is increased effectively with Dongseoul SVC which has the capacity 200MVAr.

This study was predicted the diffusion of the conservative contaminant using a two-dimensional hydraulic model. The research area is upper basin of Jakwang river where the possibility where the pollutant of vast quantity will flow is high. Using SMS model, we calculated two-dimensional stream flow. And using this result, predicted the conduct of the conservative contaminant by pollutant transfer diffusion calculation. And also we predicted flow and contaminant diffusion in the near estuary by constructed guide bank. As a result of study, pollutant effect scope of the conservative contaminant was predicted with the fact that will broaden because of interception by guide bank. As discharge was increased from the Jakwang river, The diffusion of the pollutant is accelerated, also the effect scope increases.

Our study indicates the zooplankton abundance with characteristics of water column and the vertical distribution in Lake Jinyang, South Korea. Seasonal changes of zooplankton community are determined by environmental parameters like water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, suspended solids and chlorophyll a. In lake Jinyang, this study showed that the zooplankton abundance in transition zone(St.1, St.2) was higher density than in lacustrine zone(St.3). Rotifers were dominant zooplankton and among them, Polyarthra spp., Keratella spp, and Nauplli(Copepoda) were common. But Cladoceran showed the low density. During survey period, zooplankton abundance with vertical distribution in surface layer(epilimnion) was higher than in bottom layer(hypolimninon). Zooplankton densities in Surface and middle layer showed positive relationship with water temperature and the densities in bottom layer(hypolimnion) showed positive relationship with chlorophyll a. Our assumption in spite of the short term study are supported by the facts that increase of temperature driven by climate change more maintains the thermocline duration by the summer temperature stratification. Thus the results suggest that the climate changes are an important source of changing zooplankton community feeding phytoplankton. So the zooplankton should be monitoring by the ecological management of Lake Jinyang to cope with climate changes like flood plain or drought.
AC 및 DC 송전 선로 병렬 연계에 따른 정상상태 커플링 영향 분석

The application of the AC and DC lines on the same transmission tower is an economical and practical approaching that increase the power transmission capacity of an existing transmission corridor. But, In this case, Inductive and capacitive coupling between AC and DC lines on the same tower should be investigated in advance. According to the installation plan of 80kV ±60MW bipole HVDC in Cheju, KOREA that will be commissioned until 2011, DC lines will parallely operate with 154㎸ 2 AC lines in existed 154㎸ AC 4 lines transmission tower. This paper presents the steady state analysis results about the interaction between 154㎸ AC and 80kV DC lines in the same transmission tower.

This paper describes the operation effect of FACTS devices in the Korean power system. At the year of 2010, three FACTS devices is under commercial operation in the Seoul area. Among them, 345kV ±100MVA STATCOM at Mi-Geum substation and 345kV ±200MVA SVC at Dong-Seoul substation are very close at their electrical and geographical distance. Therefore, the additional analysis including interaction and mutual transient is necessary. Therefore, a detailed EMTDC/PSCAD simulation model was developed and steady-state/transient analysis was implemented.

FACTS 기술은 송전계통에 전압원 인버터를 설치하여 모선 전압과 전력조류를 제어하므로 송전용량 증대 및 계통 안정도 향상을 가능케하는 신기술이다. 국내에서는 2003년 최초의 FACTS Pilot Plant인 80㎹A UPFC가 154㎸ 강진 변전소에 설치되었다. UPFC는 STATCOM과 SSSC가 DC 커패시터를 통하여 결합된 구조로 되어 모선전압과 유효/무효전력 조류의 독립적인 제어가 가능하며 계통 운전 상황에 따라 STATCOM과 SSSC의 단독운전 또한 가능하다. 따라서 STATCOM 및 SSSC 단독운전시의 계통영향에 대한 분석이 필요하다. 본 논문은 EMTDC 모델을 이용하여 현재 운전중인 강진 변전소 UPFC의 직렬 운전모드인 40㎹A SSSC의 제어특성과 운전효과 분석에 대하여 기술하였다.
