This paper describes on-line fault detection and diagnosis(FDD) of a refrigeration system. Recently, many refrigerating machines are variable speed vapor compression system using a variable voltage variable frequency(VVVF) inverter. As the values of time constant of temperature and pressure are big comparatively, conventional experiments are difficult to diagnose a fault fast and exactly. So, we propose on-line FDD method using not only temperature and pressure, but also current information about a compressor as the parameters at first. Next, we set up the experimental variable speed system for FDD test. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a FDD of a refrigeration system driven by the induction motor with VVVF inverter to confirm the validity.

In this paper, we describe a fault diagnosis using inter node search method in PN model. First, a complicated fault case is modeled as PN graphic expressions. Next, to find out causes for faults on which we focus, the PN model is analyzed using the backward chaining of T-invariance. In this step, inter-node search method algorithm is proposed and we apply the inter-node search method to PN model for reducing the range of sources in faults. Finally, the propsed method is applied to a fault diagnosis of refrigeration system of confirm the validity of the method.

As the electric power market environments are being changed, suitable data for expansions should be subjected to stockholders. And the public responses are requested for transmission system expansion. The necessity of transmission system expansion can be easily assessed via the benefit/cost evaluations. Because the benefit/cost evaluation of the transmission system expansions required variety elements, which can be depended on electric power market simulation software. On this paper, a method is illustrated using the PPOOL developed by PPC and PSS/E developed by PTI.

한국전력공사에서는 전압원 인버터형 FACTS 기기인 UPFC를 전남 강진군 강진변전소에 설치(2003. 5. 23준공) 운전하였다. 강진 UPFC는 한전과 (주)효성이 공동으로 투자하고, 지멘스와의 기술제휴를 통해 개발하였으며, 40MVA 병렬인버터, 40MVA 직렬인버터로 구성되어 총 80MVA 용량이다. 준공이후 2년여에 걸친 운전으로, 강진 UPFC의 고장정지는 현저히 줄었다. 본 논문에서는 강진 UPFC의 주요 이벤트, 고장해소 및 설비의 신뢰성 향상을 위한 대응 조치들에 대해 정리하였다.

This paper deals with fuzzy controller design for ventilation control of tunnel. The design for ventilation control of tunnel basically requires nonlinear control because of many irregular factors of the tunnel. Therefore, fuzzy control as nonlinear controller is usually applied to the tunnel system which has nonlinear characteristics. First, basic fuzzy principles are explained, and fuzzy controller for tunnel ventilation is designed supposing that normal traffic flow by using the fuzzy principle. In general, both carbon monoxide and exhaust gas are considered as control quantities in the ventilation control. However, we just considered only exhaust gas as control quantity because exhaust gas is more important control factor than carbon monoxide. Next, we investigated unexpected traffic jam which may be caused in tunnel right after tunnel open. The abnormal traffic makes worse pollution concentration in tunnel. A spare controller is prepared to cope with the problem. Finally, some simulation results showed good control performance.
