Small sonic nozzles (throat diameter $0.28{\~}4.48mm$) were tested in the gas flow standard system. This standard system is composed of two bell provers and 5 column piston provers, compressor, filters, and dehumidifier. The discharge coefficients of small some nozzles are obtained and correlated as a function of throat Reynolds numbers with $0.316\%$ uncertainty at a confidence level $95\%$. The tested high Reynolds number was the lower limit of ISO 9300 specifications. The data are useful as data base for revision of ISO 9300.

Recently, several kinds of experimental and computational studies are being carried out to investigate the WIG aerodynamic characteristics which are of practical importance to develop the new ground transportation vehicle system. These works are mainly based upon conventional wind tunnel tests, but many problems associated with the WIG aerodynamic characteristics cannot be satisfactorily resolved due to the wind tunnel blockage effects or string problems to support the test object. To do this, it is necessary to develop a novel simulator appropriate to the WIG aerodynamics. The objective of the present study is to clarify the aerodynamic characteristics of a new developed WIG simulator, which is able to imitate real WIG flow circumstances such as gradually decelerating and accelerating flows.
실린더 후류를 이용한 2차원 디퓨저 성능개선에 관한 수치해석적 연구

The present study addresses a computational work to investigate the influence of a turbulent wake flow on the pressure recovery of a two-dimensional subsonic diffuser. The turbulent wake is generated by a cylinder with a small diameter, which is installed at the diffuser inlet. Computation is applied to two-dimensional steady Navier-Stokes equations. The computational results are qualitatively well compared to existing experimental data. The results show that the diffuser pressure recovery is strongly dependent on the diameter and location of the cylinder. It is found that there is a certain diameter and location of cylinder for the diffuser pressure recovery to be most enhanced. Compared with no cylinder case, the diffuser performance increases up 24%.

Many LNG ships will be constructed in Korea and the demand of safety valves is increasing. The most important performance of the developed safety relief vales for LNG ship is flow capacity. Flow capacity tests for 8 sizes of developed safety valves were conducted in the high pressure gas flow standard system in KRISS. The initial spring force adjustment was important for setting pressure of the safety valve. The procedure of data reduction and evaluation of the safety valve performance are suggested. This procedure was approved by French Bureau.

상온 기체 유량 표준 시스템에서 물을 실링액으로 사용하는 습식 가스미터의 성능시험을 하였다. 습식 가스미터의 출구에서 습도를 측정하여 이를 보정에 사용하였다. 보정의 결과로 습식 가스미터가 가지고 있던 오차가 현저히 감축되는 것으로 보아 수분이 습식 가스미터의 성능에 지대한 영향을 미치는 것으로 본 실험에서 보여졌다. 이 결과로서 습식 가스미터의 성능 향상 및 국내 기술 개발에 유용한 데이터로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

A turbulent wake generated by a cylinder in nozzle contraction affects to the jet flow characteristics. In<br/> this study, a computational work to investigate the effect of the turbulent wake on two-dimensional subsonic<br/> jet was carried out with three different kinds of nozzle. Computations are applied to the two-dimensional<br/> unsteady, Navier-Stokes equations. Several kinds of turbulent models and wall functions are employed to<br/> validate the computational predictions. It was known that the wake flow enhanced the spread of the jet flow,<br/> compared with no wake flow condition. It was also found that the jet core is shortened by the wake flow<br/> developed from a control cylinder.
