In this study, numerical simulations were conducted for resistance and self-propulsion performance for an amphibious rig in ferry mode. They were performed under conditions of h/T=4.5, 2.0 and head angles of both 180 and 90 degrees using SNUFOAM, based on open source CFD toolkit OpenFOAM. A double body method was adopted for free surface flow. Thrust was modeled with a body force method in self propulsion tests. The results of resistance tests showed drag forces according to the depth and head angle conditions and presented differences in the drag forces. In order to investigate the differences, the pressure, velocity, and vorticity distribution near the amphibious rig were identified. From self propulsion tests results, the thrusts and powers at the self propulsion point were estimated and compared with the thrust diagram to confirm the self propulsion performance.
NUMERICAL STUDY OF VORTEX-INDUCED VIBRATION FLEXIBLE RISER AND PIPE MODELS

The paper summarizes the VIV-related research with the focus on flexible riser and pipe models subject to various engineering conditions. First of all, a series of numerical simulations for the purpose of validating the efficiency of FSI solution approach (ANSYS MFX) has been performed. The comparison between the simulation and the experimental data shows that the present FSI solution method is capable of giving acceptable estimation to VIV problems. As a meaningful application to engineering problems, some tentative simulation cases which are difficult to carry out in experiment, such as a flexible pipe with internal flow and multi-assembled pipes, have been successfully carried out. The coupling mechanism between vortex shedding and the VIV has been well interpreted.

대형 조선소에서 건조하는 상용 선박에 대한 설계는 수많은 경험과 사례를 거쳐 체계화되고 그에 걸맞은 시스템이 갖추어졌지만, 상대적으로 한국이 문화적 기반이 적고 소규모 업체에서 건조하는 파워보트는 그에 맞는 설계 방법에 대한 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 해양 레저에서 사용되는 파워보트를 설계하는데 알맞은 설계 방법론을 연구하고, 여기에 반드시 필요한 특성치를 도출한 후 이를 효과적으로 관리해 설계하는데 기초 정보를 제공할 수 있는 애플리케이션 개발에 대해 살펴본다.
