Many researches for inter-airport competitiveness, efficiency, and productivity in field of airport have been applied such methodologies as Data Envelopment Analysis or Total Factor Productivity. This research, however, has tried to introduce a network science approach to analyze the airport network framework. This research aims to evaluate the framework of the airport networks in major Asian airports based on network science regarding density analysis, distance and centralization in each of the locations. In order to determine the network properties, they can be defined as an airport network graph as well a calculated and interpreted degrees of density, distance and centralization of an airport network. In the process of analysis, the six selected countries were clearly divided into two categories; single and multi-hub system. Group I defines as single hub airport network system; Korea, Singapore, and Thailand, and Group II as multiple hub airports; China, India and Japan. The indices of the distance and centralization of airport network would be useful information to enlarge and develop a nation`s airport network efficiently.

This study looked at how the air transportation sector is affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic situation, its ripple effects through systems thinking and causal circulation analysis, and sought to draw a policy agenda to respond at a national level as a policy lever to reduce damage to the air transport industry. The most important points of the study are enhancing the efficiency of airport operations, supporting hub airlines, and investing in airport capacity and smart airports and intelligence services. In other words, efforts should be made to minimize economic ripple effects through the establishment of intelligent systems in the air transportation industry, and to reverse all existing systems to cope with future hyper-uncertainty.
