The objective of this study is to experimentally evaluate the thermal performance of the double skin building system during the summer season. In this paper, four experimental conditions were designed and vertical temperature distribution, solar radiation and others were analyzed. The results are as follows : The higher the height was, the higher the vertical temperature was, when outside windows were closed. But the temperature in central zone was higher than the temperature in upper zone when outside windows were opened. Central zone airflow was relatively slow due to space height location based thermal and fluid characteristics. As a result, the double skin as thermal buffer zone reduces the space cooling loads.
