Carbon nanotube (CNT)/$Mg_2Ni$ composites were synthesized to enhance the hydrogen storage properties. The emphasis was made on the effect of different shortening methods of CNTs on the open-tip structure and the resulting properties. The use of open CNTs as a starting material resulted in an enhanced hydrogen properties of CNT/$Mg_2Ni$ composites. Among the employed methods for the shortening of CNTs, wet milling using ethanol was the most efficient, while ultrasonic acid treatment or thermal decomposition resulted in a less hydrogen storage capacity.

We have examined the effect of ball-milling on the superconducting properties of $MgB_2$ doped with C. The ball-milling of pre-reacted $MgB_2$ powder was carried out in dry or wet state using C or diethylenetriamine ($C_{4}H_{13}N_3$) as additives. The diethylenetriamine, whose chemical formula contains no oxygen, was chosen to avoid an excess oxidation during doping. The superconducting transition temperature (Tc) of the ball-milled or doped $MgB_2$ powders was only slightly smaller than that of undoped $MgB_2$. The critical current density (Jc) of the highly ball-milled $MgB_2$ was higher than that of C-doped $MgB_2$. The addition of diethylenetriamine was detrimental to Jc, although Tc was almost unchanged.

N/A In the present work, we have investigated the strain-induced melt activation (SIMA) process in Al-8%Si and Al-25%Si alloys. Primary dendrites were transformed into spherical microstrctures by mushy zone heat treatments of the cold-worked alloys., Various processing parameters which govern the sphering of the dendrites have been examined. The result showed that semi-solid alloys having a typically nondendritic spherical microstructure can be easily produced by this method.

Amorphous carbon nanotubes were synthesized by a reaction of benzene, ferrocene and Na mixture in a small autoclave at temperatures as low as $400^{\circ}C$. The resulting carbon nanotubes were short and straight, but their inner hole was filled with residual products. The addition of quartz to the reacting mixture considerably promoted the formation of carbon nanotubes. A careful examination of powder structure suggested that the nanotubes in this process were mainly formed by surface diffusion of carbon atoms at the surface of solid catalytic particles, not by VLS(vapor-liquid-solid) mechanism.

최근 스마트폰과 지능형 차량의 발전과 함께 차량관리 애플리케이션이 부각되고 있다. 기존 차량 애플리케이션은 사용자와 차량 정비업체간의 수동적인 정보전달의 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 수동적인 정보전달의 문제점을 개선한 능동적 애플리케이션을 제안하고 ECU 시스템을 이용하여 차량정보를 사용자의 스마트폰으로 전송한 후 전송된 정보를 사용자와 차량 정비업체에서 공유하는 능동적인 차량관리 애플리케이션을 구현하였다.

최근 모바일 환경의 기술 발전과 더불어 그 활용분야는 더욱 확대되고 있다. 하지만 그에 따른 역기능에 대한 문제는 나날이 심각해지고 있으며, 뚜렷한 대책 마련이 미비한 실정이다. 대표적 모바일 기기인 휴대폰도 각종 범죄의 도구로 사용되고 있으며, 그에 따라 범죄수사 과정에서 법적 증거자료 획득을 위한 중요도가 높아지고 있다. 하지만 휴대폰으로부터 획득한 증거자료의 신뢰성이 결여된다면, 법적인 증거능력의 상실로 큰 혼란을 유발시키게 된다. 본 논문에서는 법적인 증거능력을 상실시킬 수 있는 휴대폰 내부 메시지에 대한 위·변조 가능성에 대해 실험적으로 증명하고, 그 위험성을 고찰하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 또한 이를 보완하기 위해서 해쉬함수를 휴대폰 내부 시스템에 적용하는 방법을 제시하고자 한다.
마우스에서 고려 홍삼의 구강내 섭취를 통한 소음성 난청의 예방효과

고려 홍삼이 소음성 난청에서 청력 보호 및 회복에 관여하는 지를 밝히기 위하여 마우스에서 홍삼을 투여 후 소음에 노출시켜 청력 역치의 변화 및 와우의 활성 산소 유리기에 대한 노출 정도를 보았다. 영구적 청력 역치 이동의 경우에 홍삼은 청력 보호 및 회복에 관여하지 못했다. 하지만 일과성 청력 역치 이동의 경우에는 홍삼이 어느 정도의 농도 이상으로 투여 된다면 청력 회복에 효과적으로 작용하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 향후 홍삼의 난청 억제 효과에 대해 적정 농도 및 투여 방법 등에 대한 후속연구가 뒤따라야 하겠고 인간에서 발생하는 소음성 난청에의 적합성 판정을 위해 보다 장기적인 소음 노출 기간과 장기적인 홍삼 복용에 대한 연구가 필요하겠다. 또한 홍삼내의 여러 활성물질에 관한 연구를 통하여 보다 효과적인 화합물을 찾기 위한 노력도 동반되어야 할 것이다. It is well known that the saponin of Korean red ginseng (KRG) has an anti-oxidant effect and could suppress the accumulation of lipid peroxidation. The aim of the present study was to observe the inhibitory effect of KRG on mice with noise-induced hearing loss, and to determine its optimal dose. BALB/c mice with a normal hearing level and normal Preyer's reflexes were used in the study. The mice in the permanent-threshold-shift (PTS) group were exposed to noise (120-㏈ SPL, white noise band) in a noise booth for 3 h a day, for three consecutive days. The mice in the experimental group were given heat-processed red-ginseng extract (50 ㎎/㎏, 100 ㎎/㎏, and 200 ㎎/㎏), and those in the control group were given normal saline alone during their noise exposure. The mice in the temporary-threshold-shift (TTS) group were exposed to noise (120 ㏈SPL, white noise band) in a noise booth for 3 h. The mice in the experimental group were given heat-processed red-ginseng extract (50 ㎎/㎏, 100 ㎎/㎏, and 200 ㎎/㎏), and those in the control group were given normal saline alone before their noise exposure. The hearing levels of the mice were measured through auditory brainstem response (ABR) immediately and 1, 3, 5, 7, and 14 days after their noise exposure. Cochleae were removed from the mice 14 days after their noise exposure. Immunochemical and immunofluorescent staining were performed to observe the expression of 8-oxoG in cochlea. In the PTS group, the hearing function of the mice in all the groups was not recovered after their noise exposure. In the TTS group, however, the hearing function of the mice in all the groups was recovered within 14 days. Reduced hearing impairment and early recovery were observed in the mice that were given 200 ㎎/㎏ KRG, and early recovery was observed in the mice that were given 100 mg/kg KRG. The immunopositive staining of 8-oxoG was detected in the stria vascularis in the control group but was diminished in the mice that were given 200 ㎎/㎏ KRG. The ingestion of more than 100 ㎎/㎏ KRG demonstrated a protection and recovery effect on the noiseinduced-TTS group. Since KRG has been reported to be a safe compound even up to hundreds of mg/kg, a higher concentration of it may effectively protect and recover TTS.
