본 연구는 중남미와 스페인에서 국내로 수입되는 영화와 드라마에 들어가는 자막의 제작과 관련해 국내 방송업계에서 준수하는 자막 제작 규칙을 국내 번역가와 영상번역 연구자들에게 설명하고 해당 규범과 규칙으로 인한 제한 속에서 발화되는 대사 내용의 의도와 의미를 효과적으로 살리며 축약하는 번역전략을 소개하는 것을 목표로한다. 미디어 산업의 발달과 함께 우리는 기존의 방송 업계는 물론 1인 미디어 플랫폼을 통해 콘텐츠 제작자와 소비자가 직접적으로 만나고 교류하는 시대로 접어들었으며, 수많은 문화콘텐츠가 세계적으로 공유되는 현실에서 살고 있다. 이런 과정 속에서 예나 지금이나 대중이 가장 많이 접하는 번역은 영상번역이며 그 중에서도 제작 속도와 가성비를 이유로 선호되는 것이 바로 자막이다. 영상번역은 제도적인 특성을 가진 제도 번역의 일종으로 업계에서 관례적으로 굳어진 규범과 규칙을 따르는데, 통번역 학계는 물론 많은 번역가들이 이에 대해 전혀 모르거나 구체적으로 어떤 것이 있는지 알지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 자막 제작을 위한 BA영상번역 규칙을 설명하며 기존 영상번역 연구의 미흡한 부분을 보완하고, 효과적으로 축역된 자막의 제작을 위해 일반 번역가도 이해하고 적용할 수 있는 해석이론에 기반한 재필(rewriting) 전략을 소개한다. This study aims to broaden the understanding of audiovisual translation with the purpose of contributing to the education and analysis of audiovisual translation by listing and explaining existing conventions for subtitling in audiovisual translation. These are products of conventional ways and methods of translating, styling, structuring and laying out subtitles on screen, which have come to take root as a set of rules that audiovisual translators must know and follow. Such conventions were formed due to the inherent spacial and temporal limitation in audiovisual translation for subtitling in order to facilitate viewer reading and comprehension hindering the transmission of non-linguistic information on screen. These rules have undergone several changes until becoming the set of concrete conventions that is used today for audiovisual translation. It has been adjusted to fit the target language and its display on screen, as well as to improve the convenience of reading subtitles. Precedent research and studies in Korea have yet to list and explain these rules, as most related research focus on the analysis and evaluation of the linguistic aspects and equivalence of the end product based on the source text. However, it must be understood that this is a unique type of translation that is closer to institutional translation, which conventions have spread throughout the audiovisual field and industry. These conventions affect the translation and the translator"s translation tactics and must be considered prior to any linguistic analysis or evaluation. The study lists and explains said conventions for Korean subtitling. It also introduces a method for creating condensed translations for subtitling that satisfy given conventions, a rewriting strategy based on the interpretation theory.

Condensation frosting phenomena causes serious economic/safety problems in many industrial applications. Recently, superhydrophobic surface have been attracted attention as a promising way to improve anti-frosting performance, but high cost, difficult methods to scale and poor durability limited its applicability in practical applications. In this work, we introduce superhydrophobic cerium oxide coatings formed by a dipping-based scalable fabrication process. The excellent superhydrophobicity was successfully obtained on two types of the developed cerium oxide samples, which provided the freezing delay of ~66% and ~98% lower ice adhesion strength compared to Bare aluminum. The cerium oxide samples also showed the enhanced stability against the harsh environmental conditions including the repetition of frosting/de-frosting and acidity/salinity solution exposure compared to a conventional hydrophobic coating. The coating was successfully applied to a plain fin-tube heat exchanger with a large area and complex geometry, and the anti-frosting performance was investigated. The results demonstrated that the suggested cerium oxide surfaces can provide ~60% lower pressure drop and ~23% higher heat transfer rate.
