        농인과 청인이 생각하는 수어의 진정성: 소통을 통한 정체성의 발견

        그동안 사회언어학에서는 음성언어를 중심으로 언어의 진정성에 대한 연구가 수행되었다. 언어의 진정성은 언어사용자가 지각하는, 오래 지속되는 언어 고유의 특성이다. 또한 언어의 특성이 사회적 삶에서 의미있는 기능을 수행할 때, 언어의 진정성은 부각된다. 본 연구에서는 수어의 진정성에 대한 수어사용자의 경험을 분석하고자 농인(n=3)과 청인(n=6)을 대상으로 반구조화된 질문지를 활용하여 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 수어의 진정성에 대한 질문은 수어습득시기와 학습경험, 수어와 다른 언어의 공통점, 수어가 다른 언어와 차별화되는 고유 특성, 수어를 자신의 언어로서 느낀 긍정적 경험 및 수어사용과 정체성 형성의 관계로 내용을 구성하였다. 그 결과 수어사용자는 수어가 시각적 언어로서 다른 언어와 차별화되어 갖는 이득, 자신이 타인과 소통하며 정체성을 찾는데 중요한 도구, 자신의 내면세계를 표현하는 도구, 수어를 통해 농사회와 연결되는 의미에 대해 보고하였다. 이 결과는 수어가 다른 음성언어와 같이 수어사용자에게 언어적 측면뿐만 아니라 사회적 측면에서 진정성의 의미를 갖고 있음을 보여준다. In the field of sociolinguistics, research on the authenticity of language has primarily focused on spoken languages. The authenticity of a language refers to the inherent, long-lasting characteristics of the language as perceived by its users. Previous studies have reported that there is a close relationship between language users’ perceptions of the authenticity of a language and learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the experiences of sign language users regarding the authenticity of sign language. In-depth interviews were conducted using semi-structured questionnaires with Deaf individuals (n=3) and hearing individuals (n=6). The questions about the authenticity of sign language included the commonalities between sign language and other languages, the unique characteristics that distinguish sign language from other languages, the timing and experiences of sign language acquisition, and positive experiences of feeling sign language as their own language. The results indicated that sign language users reported that sign language, as a visual language, offers unique advantages that distinguish it from other languages. They also noted that sign language is an important tool for finding identity through communication with others, a means of expressing their inner world, and a way to connect with the Deaf community. These results demonstrate that sign language holds a sense of authenticity as a language for its users, similar to spoken languages.

        나는 순수했다!: 아동기에 대한 자서전적 기억과 친사회적 행동

        Previous studies have demonstrated that childhood memories can impact self-concepts. However, scant research has been conducted to determine whether and how the activation of childhood memories relates to the motivation of prosocial behaviors. Thus, this study investigated whether childhood memories facilitated prosocial behaviors through implicitly activating moral purity and how differently an abstract (vs. a concrete) construal level of autobiographical memories evoke prosocial intentions. According to the results of Study 1, the participants in the experimental condition of childhood memories were more motivated to perform prosocial behaviors than those in the controlled condition of recalling recent mundane activities. In the experimental condition, moral purity was activated more strongly than in the control condition. Study 2 demonstrated that participants in the “concrete” condition of childhood memories tended to the lower levels of prosocial motivation than those in the “abstract” condition wherein they were counting and describing good deeds from their childhood in detail. These results indicate that different construal levels (abstract vs. concrete) can mediate the relationship between childhood memories and prosocial behaviors. This study contributes to extending previous research regarding the determinants of motivating prosocial behaviors in cognitive processes.

        이중양상 이중언어의 학습이 청인대학생의 음성언어와 제스처의 사용에 끼치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 한국어 음성언어사용자가 한국수어를 동시에 학습할 때, 이중양상 이중언어의 학습이 음성언어와 제스처의 사용에 끼치는 영향을 검증하는데 있다. 연구 1에서는 대학의 수어수업 또는 독일어수업을 수강한 이후 학생들의 제스처 사용의 변화가 있는지를 측정하였다. 그 결과 대학의 수어수업을 수강한 청인대학생 39명 중 87.2%가 이전 학기보다 수어와 연관된 제스처를 더 많이 사용하고 있다고 응답하였다. 연구 2에서는 수어를 배우고 있는 청인대학생 참가자 17명(실험집단)과 수어를 배운 경험이 없는 청인대학생 참가자 19명(통제집단)을 대상으로 컴퓨터 화면에 제시되는 물체에 대한 시공간정보의 소통을 측정하였다. 그 결과 실험집단에서 통제집단보다 물체의 시공간정보를 더 자세하게 언어적 및 비언어적으로 표현하는 경향이 나타났다. 이 결과는 이중양상 이중언어의 학습이 단일양상(시각->시각)뿐만 아니라 이중양상(시각->청각)의 언어생산에 영향을 끼칠 가능성을 시사한다. This study investigates whether bimodal bilingual learning has meaningful influences for visual-spatial information communication, by examining hearing Korean native speakers that are learning Korean sign language. Study 1 measured changes in the use of gestures by students after taking sign language classes at the university. According to the results, 87.2% of hearing sign language learners (n = 39) felt that they gestured more after one semester of sign language instruction when speaking Korean. In Study 2, hearing sign language learners (n=17, experimental group) and nonsigners (n=19, control group) were recruited and tested to describe each displayed picture on a computer screen. According to the results, the experimental group used more picture descriptions with semantically specific information than nonsigners. In addition, the experimental group used gestures more often than the control group. TThese results implicated that iconicity of sign language can contribute to specific language production both in motoric gestures (visual -> visual) and in speech (visual -> audial).

        불쾌한 골짜기: 로봇 속성의 의인화, 마음지각 및 도덕적 처우의 관계

        The attribution of human traits, emotions, and intentions to nonhuman entities such as robots is known as anthropomorphism. Two studies were conducted to check whether human-robot interaction is affected by anthropomorphic framing of robots. In Study 1, participants were presented with pictures of robots that varied in human similarity in appearance. According to the results, uncanny feelings toward a robot increased with the higher levels of human similarity. Furthermore, as the level of mind attribution increased, participants tended to attribute more humanlike abilities to nonhuman agents. In Study 2, a robot was described as either a machine-like robot or a humanlike robot in a priming story; then, it was examined whether significant differences exist in mind attribution and moral care. The participants tended to perceive robots as more humanlike in the mind attribution when anthropomorphism was used in a robot's behavior, according to the findings. Furthermore, in the condition of increased anthropomorphism, a higher level of moral care could be observed compared with that in the other condition. This means that humanlike appearances may increase uncanny feelings, whereas anthropomorphic attribution may facilitate social interactions between humans and robots. Limitations as well as the implications for future research are discussed.

        국외 임상술기센터의 임상교육 현황과 시사점

        Purpose : The establishment of clinical skills centers(CSCs) to facilitate the teaching and assessment of clinical skills is one of the more recent developments occurring in medical schools worldwide. The aim of this study is to review experiences of CSCs in other medical schools and learn how to design a CSC in our school. Methods : This study was undertaken in two steps. In the first step, educational activities of CSCs in 6 medical schools were reviewed. In the second step, a search for articles of journals regarding clinical skills education in CSCs was conducted. Results : The review of CSCs programs reveals variations among centers in teaching and assessment activities. However there are increasing trends of utilizing CSCs in teaching and learning in CSCs. The delivery of clinical skills is expanded by an increasing use of simulated patients and realistic simulators. Through an audio/video technology, availability of more detailed monitoring and feedback. CSCs also provide greater opportunity for assessment of communications skills, physical examination and practical procedures. Conclusions: CSCs contribute to the effectiveness in clinical teaching and assessment. Educational benefits of a CSC can be maximized by utilizing new delivery methods, implementing educational strategies and staff development programmes.

        의과대학생의 성격유형과 전공 및 대학생활 만족도

        Objective: The goal of this study was to investigate personality preferences of medical students and to examine the relationship between personality profiles and their satisfaction with major and student life. Methods : The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), which measures personality preferences, was administered by medical students (n = 94) who began to qualify from the Yonsei University College of Medicine in 2007. The resulting personality profiles of the medical students were correlated with scores of the satisfaction with major and student life Results: First, there were more preference types of Introversion(61.71%), Sensing(67.66%), Thinking(73.41%) and Judging(61.71%) than Extraversion (38.29%), Intuition (22.34%), Feeling (26.59%) and Perception(38.29%), Most medical students are personality type ISTJ(24.21%), followed by ESTJ(17.02%), Second, students with the preference for Extraversion and Intuition were more satisfied with their major and student life. Third, the preference for Judging showed higher scores in the satisfaction with major. Conclusions: This study might give implications for the psychological wellbeing and successful studying of medical students.
