Simulations of the absorption of laser pulses and the temperature rise in human tissues were executed for long (pulse width: 100 ms, beam diameter: 0.61 mm) and short (pulse width: 5 ns, beam diameter: 0.33 mm) pulse conditions at 532-nm, 809-nm, 905-nm, and 1064-nm wavelengths. Correlations between maximum temperature rise and maximum permissible exposure recommended by laser safety standards were investigated and discussed in terms of the correction factor CA defined in the laser safety standards.

The optical constants and anatomical structures of human tissues were investigated. Based on the results of these investigations, simulations of the absorption of a laser beam in the tissue were performed using a numerical technique based on the Monte Carlo method in the wavelength range 370 nm-1570 nm. The absorbed power density exhibited larger values at wavelengths around 400 nm and 1450 nm and has been found to be determined mainly by the absorption coefficient of the tissue. The penetration depth was maximum at wavelengths around 1300 nm. The results of this study provide important information for the further study on the efficient laser stimulation in human tissues.

본 논문에서는 광생물 반응기의 조명 시스템으로 활용될 LED(Light-Emitting Diode)용 도광판의 광학설계 및 제작 결과에 대해 보고한다. 도광판 설계를 위해 광원, 반사필름, 도광판 패턴에 대한 모델링을 수행하였다. 특히, 도광판 패턴의 경우 램버시안 산란체(Lambertian Scatterer)로 모델링을 수행하였는데, 테스트용으로 제작된 도광판의 조도분포와 부합하는 모델 파라미터(반사율, 산란체의 폭)를 매칭 시뮬레이션을 통하여 추출하였다. 추출된 모델 파라미터를 사용하여 광학설계를 수행하였으며, CNC(Computer Numerical Control) 가공을 통해 도광판을 제작하였고, 평균조도와 조도균일도 등의 광학 특성을 측정하였다. We present results of optical design and fabrication of a light guiding plate (LGP) to be used as an illumination system for photobioreactors. Modeling of a light-emitting diode (LED) light source, a reflection film, and LGP patterns was performed. Especially, the LGP patterns were modeled as Lambertian scatterers. The modeling parameters (reflectance, scatterer width) were determined through matching simulations with the experimentally measured illuminance distribution for a test LGP. An LGP for an LED light source was designed with the extracted model parameters, and fabricated using a computerized numerical control machine. Optical characteristics including average illuminance and uniformity of illuminance distribution were measured for the fabricated LGP.

In this study, we compared the physical and chemical properties evaluation for each size in the SUS316L metal powder produced by water atomization and gas atomization. and we analyzed the experimental data in order to find the basis of a suitable metal powder (SUS316L) for DED (Direct Energy Deposition) processing. Also it evaluated the properties of each layered surface and cross section according to the number of deposition and deposition speed. In the result of optical microscopy measurements, the metal powder by water atomization was the crack generated between the deposition layer, the deposition layer was poor quality. However, metal powder by gas atomization was obtained a relatively good deposition results than metal powder by water atomization.
