Discourse on Gender in The Canterbury Tales: A Dialectical Approach

In depiction of gender issue in The Canterbury Tale, Chaucer gives voice to two seemingly contradictory perspectives, one an anti-feminist as well as another alternate interrogative one. It is thus that there is an ongoing gender related discourse within Chaucer``s The Canterbury Tales; a view of women from a prevailing patriarchic and misogynistic perspective going against a pro-feminist accusations of female subjugation and subversion. Of course, calling The Tales dialectical does not mean that they adhere strictly to the dialectic process in the Hegelian sense. Rather, the The Tales is a work of art and is dialectical only in the sense used by Michael Lieb, that there is an assumption that "Truth is always ``in the making,`` forever arising dynamically out of the contention of opposing views." In so doing, I would argue, the two conflicting perspectives from a dialectical structure. Beginning, then, with the exploration of expressions of the dominant patriarchical ideology of female subordination and obedience in "The Knight``s Tale," The Tales goes on to interrogate and critique the validity of such anti-feminist ideology of female subjugation particularly in connection with "The Wife of Bath``s Tale." 교사학습공동체를 기반으로 한 초등학교 수학 수업연구의 긍정적인 측면과 한계점 분석

교사들의 지속적인 수업전문성 신장을 도모하기 위한 대안으로써 최근 수학 교사교육 연구에서는 교사학습공동체를 주목하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 실제 현장에서 운영되고 있는 교사학습공동체 사례를 분석하여 교사학습공동체를 기반으로 한 초등학교 수학 수업연구의 긍정적인 측면과 한계점을 규명하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 교사들의 수학 교과 관련 지식의 신장, 교사로서의 성취감 및 동료 교사와의 친밀감 증진, 동료 교사들 간의 상호교수, 지속적인 수업연구 시스템 정착을 통한 탐구적인 교사 문화의 형성이 긍정적인 측면으로 확인되었으며, 교사학습공동체 내 자체 규범에 의한 제한, 경력교사의 영향력에 의한 제한, 교사들의 의사결정에 대한 비전문성, 수업평가 및 반성에 대한 체계성 부족이 한계점으로 확인되었다. 이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 교사학습공동체 기반 수학 수업연구의 개선 방향에 대한 시사점을 논의하고자 한다. The purpose of this study was to analyze the strengths and weaknesses resulting from a study of elementary mathematics lessons among in-service teachers and to discuss implications for the direction of improvement of the study on elementary mathematics lessons based on teacher learning community. The results of this study showed that the study on elementary mathematics lessons based on teacher learning community improved teacher knowledge related to teaching mathematics, enhanced teacher’s accomplishment and self-esteem, made it possible for participant teachers to teach one another, created atmosphere in which teachers investigated instruction via sustainable and systematic lesson study. However, some limitations were noticed such as regulations by the social norms of the teacher learning community, the influence of an expert teacher, teachers’ unprofessional decision making, and lack of systematic evaluation and reflection on lessons. Based on these results, this paper closes with critical implications to enhance teacher learning community.

In order to product the equation for estimation body fat using the circumference and skinfold methods, twenty healthy female T.K.D. player university subjects were participated in this experiments. The results obtained in this study are summarized as followed. 1. Body density and %fat determined by underwater weighting method was 1.0493± 0.0089 and 16.4 ±3.7 respectively. 2. Body circumferences which presented the hightest correlation with the underwater weighting was abodominal (r=0.728, P<0.001) and hip (r=0.573, P<0.001) CIRCUMFERENCE. 3. Skinfold which presented the hightest correlation with the underwater weighting was abdominal (r=0.027, P<0.01), subscapular (r=0.547, P<0.01) and Pectoralis major (r=0.547, P<0.01) CIRCUMFERENCE.
