A spectral measurement system for reflection and transmission properties by using an optical fiber and an ellipsoidal mirror was newly developed. The hemispherical reflectance and transmittance spectra of several heating resisting ceramics materials were measured from visible to middle infrared region. The directional characteristics of reflection and transmission were also investigated in consideration of the absorptance. The measured data were analyzed by using a four flux model of radiation transfer, The radiation properties could be estimated by the obtained scattering and absorption coefficient spectra.<br/> <br/>

Infrared heating has been traditionally used in industrial applications for processes such as dehydration of food industrial. This heating method involves the application of radiation in the wavelength range of 2 to 50 micrometers. In this work, simultaneous heat balance equations were developed to simulate the infrared radiation heating of agricultural products. The equations assume that moisture diffuses to the outer boundaries of the material in liquid form and evaporation occurs at the surface of the agricultural products. Energy for moisture evaporation is supplied by the infrared radiant energy. The optimum temperature and drying time for the best drying conditions of changing the red peppers with the moisture content of 18% and the restore rate of 80 ~85% are 80℃ and 44 hours. The performance of radiation tubes coating with the radiation paint developed in this research has the energy of 2.27×103W/m<sup>2</sup>㎛, 150℃ within the scope of radiation wave length of 2~30/㎛ and has the radiation 0.92~0.93, which is superior to the general radiation tubes. The extinction coefficient according to the band pass filter using the 4 flux theory ha higher dependability on wave length, accounting for 2~17/㎛ and 5×105~106m-1. A comparison between the theoretical energy transfer whose figures are interpreted according to 4 flux theory and the experimental energy transfer of far infrared dryer leads to the findings of the agreement less than 5%.

This research exposes the process of carbonization of solid waste from the city and the method of activated, as well as the process of meso-porous under several test conditions. In addition, it is expected that the active carbon obtained through this process can be used as filter for air and sewage treatment, and can absorb dioxin (as almost 60-80% of meso-porous and porous properties area) unlike the existing active carbon.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the impact of a short walk putting on Coolfin shoes on the foot temperature rise and blood circulation. Methods: Twenty healthy adults participated in experiments in this study. All subjects walked respectively barefoot and putting on Coolfin shoes. Infrared imaging cameras were used to collect and analyze the data on the foot temperature. Results: As a result of this study, there were significant differences between the temperatures of the great toe and top of the foot after 20-minute walks with bare feet and in Coolfin shoes. Both the temperatures of the great toe and top of the foot decreased after a 20-minute walk in the barefoot condition, and there was a significant difference between them (p<0.05). Both the temperatures of the great toe and top of the foot increased after a 20-minute walk in the condition of putting on Coolfin shoes, and there was a significant difference between them(p<0.05). Conclusion: A short walk putting on Coolfin products induces the movement of the toes to increase the blood flow and accordingly, has a direct impact on the increase of the surface temperature of the feet, so they are effective products for helping blood circulation in the feet.

Fire has been beneficial to human beings in every branch of human endeavor ever since early human beings discovered it and learned how to use it. Nowadays, we cannot live our every day life without using fire. Sometimes, however, we have to suffer tremendous losses of lives and properties because of large-scale fires. Furthermore, those large-scale fires are so devastating that they can cause the total destruction of the environment. Especially, huge wildfires have been one of the biggest threats to the environment of the Earth. Without preventing and extinguishing huge wildfires effectively, all our efforts to protect the environment of our countries and the Earth would be in vain. Nevertheless, the damages and destructions of the environment due to wildfires have kept increasing all over the world. Korea is not an exception. Then, what would be the efficient methods to prevent and extinguish those disastrous wildfires? In the case of Korea, we have a very inefficient system since there are two different departments, the Korea Forest Service and the Fire Station, dealing with wildfires. This unnecessary division has actually been causing a lot of confusion and ineffectiveness in handling wildfire problems. Therefore, the operational process of the preventing and extinguishing wildfires should be unified into the Fire Station. First, it is reasonable because the Fire Station has the excellent system of reporting a fire which is called 119 and the system is already well known to people. It is very hard to imagine that anyone would report a wildfire to the Korea Forest Service. Second, it is necessary for the government to cut the budget by utilizing the helicopters of both departments jointly. Legal and institutional improvements related to these issues are urgently needed. I finally hope that this thesis would be helpful for those who are interested in studying wildfires. Ultimately, I hope that my work would enable them to produce greate writings regarding wildfires.

In different approaches were extracted from evening primrose seed by supercritical fluids carbon dioxide and for comparison with hexane as solvent. The extracts have been analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively to evaluate yield and selectivity of γ-linolenic acid. The yields extracts with supercritical fluids carbon dioxide were higher than those with hexane. When this process produces commercially, will get a many economic profit.
