        Ultrasonic Relaxation for Complexation Reaction Between β-Cyclodextrin and Butanoic Acid in Aqueous Solution

        The aim of this work was to reveal the effect of butanoic acid in its dissociated form and undissociated form as a guest molecule on the kinetic parameters in an inclusion reaction with ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin (${\beta}$-CD). Ultrasonic absorption measurements in the frequency range from 0.2 to 45 MHz were carried out for ${\beta}$-CD solutions with butanoic acid at $25^{\circ}C$ by ultrasonic relaxation method. The rate and the equilibrium constants were obtained from the guest concentration dependence of the relaxation frequency, and the standard volume change of the complexation reaction were obtained from the maximum absorption per wavelength. A single relaxational absorption was observed, and the cause of the relaxation was attributed to a perturbation of the chemical equilibrium associated with a complexation reaction between ${\beta}$-CD and butanoic acid. These results were compared with those in solutions containing both ${\beta}$-CD and different guest molecules. It was found that the hydrophobicity of guest molecules played an important role in the formation of the inclusion complex and also that the charge on the carboxylic group had a considerable effect on the kinetic characteristics of the complexation reaction.

        Ultrasonic Absorption Measurements of Bovine Serum Albumin Solutions in the Frequency Range 200 kHz to 3 MHz

        Ultrasonic absorption and velocity spectra in bovine serum albumin (BSA) aqueous solutions have been measured at $20^{\circ}C$ over the frequency range 0.2-3 MHz in the pH range 1.5-13.2. The high-Q ultrasonic resonator and pulse-echo overlap methods were used. At acid pH's, excess absorption over that of pH 7 was explained by double relaxation. The pH dependences of the relaxation frequency and maximum absorption per wavelength, showed that the relaxation at about 200 kHz was related to the expansion of molecules and that about 3 MHz resulted from the proton transfer reaction of carboxyl group. At alkaline pH's, the excess absorption was explained by double relaxation. The relaxation at about 300 kHz was associated with a helix-coil transition, and that about 3 MHz was attributed to the proton transfer reaction of phenolic group. The rate constants and volume changes associated with these processes were estimated.

        Ultrasonic Measurement in Bovine Serum Albumin Solution

        단백질 수용액 중의 초음파흡수 mechanism을 규명하기 위하여 pH 7의 소혈청 albumin(BSA)수용액의 초음파흡수 측정을 주파수 100 kHz에서 1600 MHz에 걸쳐 행하였다. 측정방법은 plano-concave 공명법(0.1${\sim}$10 MHz)과 고분해능 Bragg 반사법(120${\sim}$1600 MHz)을 사용하였다. pH7에서의 초음파흡수스펙트럼은 Davidson-Cole 분포식의 거울상인 분포함수를 사용한 완화곡선과 일치하였다. 이 완화현상을 BSA 분자의 수화평행에 의한 것으로 해석하였다. Ultrasonic absorption was measured in bovine serum albumin (BSA) aqueous solution (50 g/l) in the frequency range from 100 kHz to 1600 MHz at neutral pH. Three experimental techniques were used to cover the wide frequency range : plano-concave resonator, conventional Bragg reflection, and high-resolution Bragg reflection methods. The absorption spectrum at neutral pH fitted the relaxation curve well using the distribution function of a mirror image of Davidson-Cole function. The relaxaition behavior was interpreted in terms of various degree of hydration of BSA molecules.

        혈관협착팬텀의 제작 및 파워도플러의 영상 평가

        혈관협착의 혈류 정보와 초음파 진단장비의 품질보증을 위한 혈관협착 팬텀을 자동 주입기를 이용하여 제작하였다. 혈관협착의 진단에 효율성이 높은 파워 도플러를 이용하여 제작된 혈관 협착 팬텀의 유용성을 조사하고, 초음파 영상 파라메타에 따른 혈관협착의 정도를 확인하였다. 혈관 협착 팬텀은 직경이 각각 8mm와 2.4mm인 실리콘 튜브로 혈관협착이 70%가 되도록 제작하였으며, 인체 조직과 유사한 음향 특성을 가지고 있는 젤라틴을 이용하여 실리콘 튜브를 감싸 주었다. 평면형 탐촉자를 이용하여 측정하였을 때 정상 혈관의 직경은 대체적으로 감소되어 측정 되었으며, 협착 혈관의 직경은 증가되어 측정되었다. 이득이 60% 이상, PRF가 3000Hz 이상, 필터가 max와 같은 급격한 변화를 제외하고는 각각의 파라메타에 크게 영향을 받지 않았으며, 각도에는 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 곡면형 탐촉자를 이용할 경우 이득, PRF, 필터, 각도등에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 제작된 자동주입기를 이용한 혈관 협착 팬텀은 혈관 협착 진단의 품질보증에 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. Flow phantom with stenosis was manufactured using an auto-injector to obtain angiostenotic flow information and quality assurance (QA) for ultrasound diagnostic instrumentation. Effectiveness of manufactured flow phantom with stenosis was investigated with power Doppler that was known to have diagnostic efficiency for angiostenosis. The flow phantom with stenosis was manufactured to 70% stenosis with 8 mm and 2.4 mm silicon tube, and silicone tube was covered with gelatin that has acoustic characteristics similar to soft tissue. When the linear transducer was used for measurement, the estimated diameter of normal vessel was measured lower than that of normal value, and the estimated diameter of stenosed vessel was measured higher than that of normal value. The measured parameters were not affected except for the radical conditions such as gain of 60%, PRF of 3000 Hz, use of maximal filter or angle. In addition, when the convex transducer was used for measurement, measurement parameters were affected by gain, PRF, filter, and angle. Therefore it is expected that flow phantom with stenosis manufactured with an auto-injector will be utilized effectively for QA of angiostenotic diagnosis.

        전립선암에 대한 토모치료와 양성자치료의 치료계획 비교

        전립선암은 남성에 발생하는 가장 흔한 악성 종양으로 2007년 우리나라에서 연 평균 5,292건이 발생하여 전체 암 발생의 3.3%로 7번째로 많이 발생하였다. 이러한 전립선암 환자의 방사선 치료 시 토모치료와 양성자 치료에 대한 특성을 비교하여 보았다. 2011년 6월부터 11월까지 일산 K 암전문병원에서 전립선암 환자 11명을 대상으로 전립선암 치료계획 시 전립선 및 주변 인접 장기인 직장과 방광에 대한 DVH와 선량 분포를 비교 분석하였다. PTV의 경우 전립선암 치료의 목적으로만 본다면 토모치료와 양성자치료에는 차이가 없었다. 또한 인접 장기인 방광과 직장에 대한 평균 용적선량을 조사한 결과 2port 양성자치료가 토모치료나 5port 양성 자치료보다 선량이 적게 들어감을 확인하였다. 또한 양성자치료가 토모치료에 비해 H·I가 낮게 나타났으며, 양성자치료에서 5port가 2port보다 H·I가 낮게 나타났으나, 방광과 직장에 대한 용적선량과 장비 운용 시간을 고려하면 2port가 5port에 비하여 좀 더 유리할 수 있다고 사료된다. The prostate cancer is the most common malignant tumor in males. Prostate cancer is the most common malignant tumor that occurs in the male in Korea in 2007 to an annual average of 5,292 cases and 3.3% of the total cancer incidence seventh occurred. Our study compared property for tomotherapy and proton ther-apy in radiotherapy of prostate cancer patients. We analyzed DVH(Dose Volume Histogram) and dose dis-tribution for prostate, bladder and rectum for radiation treatment planning of prostate cancer with 11 pa-tients in Ilsan K cancer hospital from June to November 2011. There was no differences between tomother-apy and proton therapy in the purpose of prostate cancer therapy for PTV. The adjacent organs of bladder and rectum of average dose-volume were 2port proton therapy that it was low dose treatment comparing with tomotherapy and 5port proton therapy. H·I of proton therapy was less than H·I of tomotherapy. Also, 5port was less than 2port in H·I of proton therapy. However, 2port proton therapy has more ad-vantage over 5port proton therapy that the bladder and rectum of average dose-volume and control time of equipment in radiotherapy of prostate cancer.

        단백질 알부민 수용액의 광대역 초음파 스펙트로스코피

          알부민 수용액(pH 7)에 대한 초음파 흡수 메카니즘을 규명하기 위해 주파수 0.2~1,000㎒에 걸쳐 흡수특성측정을 하였다. 관측된 단백질 알부민 수용액의 흡수스펙트럼은 David-Cole함수의 거울상으로 가정한 완화시간의 분포함수와 일치하였다. 이 분포함수는 BSA분자의 수화평형에 의한 것이고 수화평형에 의해 넓은 주파수영역에 걸쳐 완화현상이 일어난다.   Ultrasonic absorption spectrum in bovine serum albumin aqueous solutions have been measured at 20℃ over the broad frequency range 0.2~1,000㎒ at pH 7. The absorption spectrum observed at neutral pH was successfully analyzed with the distribution of relaxation time assuming a mirror-image curve of the Davidson-Cole function. This distribution function suggests that hydration of BSA molecules is responsible for the absorption.

      • Poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate)과 물의 혼합물에 대한 초음파 흡수측정

        Ultrasonic absorption coefficient in the frequency range of 0.2-2 MHz were measured in of poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) aqueous solution for the concentration range of 5% to 25% by weight. The high-Q ultrasonic resonator method was used for the absorption coefficient at 20℃. The ultrasonic relaxation in poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) aqueous solutions, which may be the result of structural fluctuations of polymer molecules such as the segmental motion of the polymer chains, was observed. Both the absorption and the shear viscosity increased with the poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) concentration, but decreased with temperature.

      • Methylcyclohexane과 Methyl Acetate의 초음파 흡수측정

        Methylcyclohexane의 축-적도형 이성체간 및 methyl acetate의 cis-trans형 이성체간의 신뢰성 높은 활성화에너지(△H^(*))와 에너지차(△H)를 구하기 위해 초음파흡수측정을 주파수 0.1-10MHz, 온도 5-60℃에 걸쳐 행하였다. 측정법으로는 0.1-10MHz의 범위에서 정확도 좋게 초음파흡수측정이 가능한 plano-concave공명법을 사용하였다. 그 측정결과 methylcyclohexane과 methyl acetate이성체간 활성화에너지를 각각 △H^(*)=10.0kcal/mol, 6.6kcal/mol으로, 이성체간의 에너지차를 각각 △H=1.8kcal/mol, 3.4kcal/mol으로 구하였다.
